What a long road it has been, I've learned a ton. This will be my last post on this thread. I have given ownership of everything regarding NTRN to a new project manager.
This person will be rebuilding Neutron from the ground up, I'm not going to announce who they are but will instead leave that to them.
I wish I had been able to do all the things I tried, but my gas tank is empty, I just don't have the stomach for it anymore.
I expect there will be a new thread for NTRN, but then again im not sure how important this old forum is anymore.

I wish the best for everyone and bid you farewell.

Some thoughts I want to share.

Taking advantage of all modern solutions in the crypto space there are actually several ways we can improve Neutron and provide holders of NTRN different paths in the future.

One of which is participating in the UNIGRID landscape

another, is bridging the gap between the traditional Neutron blockchain, and allowing a swap and or a bridge to the emerging smartchain landscape by way of a contract written on perhaps DOT, SOL, NEAR or perhaps even another as options present themselves
Neutron is going to change

Its going to take sometime, but I can see that having multiple options open and available to all holders will open new doors for the Neutron project.

Its time to evolve

I have been looking deeply at several parts of the Crypto landscape and I am coming to the conclusion that ordinary blockchains unless sensationalized in some way are becoming obsolete, masternodes are already obsolete, simple hold an open wallet for staking coins are obsolete, a part of Crypto history. The space is evolving so rapidly that many are not even keeping up and havent yet learned or realized how fast everything is changing around them.

Given what I can see, I must change my previous goal of a crypto to fiat gateway for NTRN. That as well is not only increasingly difficult due to the regulatory hurdles, but with the invention of Dapps and Defi it is also unessesary, there is a more widely functional avenue to pursue, with AMM the method of exchange and participation is even changing, for instance many projects are only available via Pancake Swap, Uniswap and all the others, I believe this will only gain in popularity as 3rd party exchanges, for the most part, are also being made obsolete.

There will be a fork, not in the chain, but in the road, and my goal is now to allow you to choose which path you want to take.

Right now I am deciphering if this decision will be a permanent split between option A and option B, or if we can bridge the gap and allow a 2 way street.

Neutrons independent blockchain will continue to exist, but it will be running on top of UNIGRID
this will include many great benefits, no more sync, no more bootstraps, no blockchain download.

And the UNIGRID will be a brand new space in which NTRN can be utilized in any way should developers take interest in this space.

part B, Neutron is also tokenized and able to be moved across all mainstream smart chains, unlocking the potential for use in the Defi landscape.

We believe that the UNIGRID will provide an environment that will be unique for NTRN, and NTRN could be used to move value from the current smart chain superhighway to the UNIGRID. (edited)

Hello everyone
I'm not sure if many of you have heard of Kratom or not, I know many of you have. Kratom is a tropical evergreen tree in the coffee family native to Southeast Asia.
Its leaves contain alkaloids mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. There is a ton of misinformation out there about this, the mayo clinic, WebMD, and other sources continuously push the agenda of BIG PHARMA.
The truth is that Kratom can be, and is for many people a lifesaver. I have witnessed it myself as my wife has been taking it for 3 years now (by choice).
Kratoms benefits are that it acts as a pain reliever, in much the same way Opioids do, but without the destruction of the liver and intense addiction.
There is no real "high" may be a slight energy boost (like coffee) and some general mood-lifting, but no debilitating high, nothing that causes impairment.
This is good for people who need pain relief stronger than Tylenol but do not want to get involved with Opioids, or for people who need or want a 100% natural method of pain relief.
Now with that said, another major benefit of Kratom, is that the active alkaloids touch the same part of the brain that alcohol and opiates do.
What this means for an alcoholic or a heroin/opiate addict, is that IF a person is having withdrawals, shaking, nausea, inability to function,
taking a dose of Kratom will stop the withdrawals! This allows the recovering addict to function and gain time off of Alcohol or Opiates.
The Kratom itself does not cause the same destruction as the original problems.
Yes, Kratom has addictive properties as well, but Kratom addiction withdrawal is vastly more manageable than Alcohol or Opiate addiction and does not cause a person to lose their ability to function.
Countless people have used Kratom to escape the grasp of Alcohol and Opiate addiction, it has by their account saved their lives.
Other people who have daily chronic pain with conditions such as fibromyalgia have also been able to get relief with Kratom.
I have personally taken it during Gout flare-ups in my left ankle and it did help me get through a tough situation when I had a big show and could barely walk.
Now with that said, and I apologize for the length of this post.

Hello everyone,

I realize it has been a while since I have made a large update post here, so this evening I intend to catch up as it is long over due.

There has been so much done that Im not sure where to start, I think I will try and stick to the main points and if anyone is really curious for the

seriously technical details they can go on over to our Github repository and look over the recent release notes to see the various updates and the progress therof.

Id love to put it all here but it would be a massive post. Ill try to summarize as best I can here.

We have moved to proof of stake version 2, this changes the way blocks are created doing away with timestamps as a dependence and closing potential doors for disruption.

We have updated the txleveldb and it is now the latest version, as a result building dependencies have changed for those who like to compile their own wallets.

*The process now requires some new dependencies please see Github for details on the needed dependencies. Older linux versions will have trouble using appimages due to the lack of FUSE on ubuntu 16 for instance, or wsl2. Newer versions of Linux should have no trouble as fuse is included in newer distros. Again for more specific detail please review our Github, or come over to discord and ask us. It should be noted that we have really upgraded many things and are well ahead of even Bitcoin, serious developers will know this when they see it. Many will do the same. We are pleased to be leading the pack even if no one realizes it, (shrugs).

For someone who wants to build their own wallet the fun way, we have our very own Build System. With it you can build any flavor of wallet you want and not only releases, but direct from SRC, so if you want a wallet with the latest commits, but there isnt a release yet, you can build it with about 4 mouse clicks (Or Keystrokes) using the build system.

We have removed the 1 masternode per IP address restriction.
A person can now run as many masternodes on one IP as they have the processing power to run.
In the near future we are working to simplify this process to make it even easier, instead of running multiple wallets
you will be able to run up to 16 masternodes on one wallet. this will be controllable by spork and we will increase or decrease as needed.
For right now in order to run multiple nodes on one wallet you still must run multiple wallet instances, this is going to change.

Each release is a steady progression, fixing many bugs along the way, and sussing out new bugs as they are discovered.
Our family of Developers, Adam Waldenberg (Swipp/NTRN), Thomas Posey (NTRN), Eron Villarreal (NTRN)
have really become just that, a digital family of sorts, at least thats how I think of them.
They have all really been phenomenal, and I cant tell you how awesome it is to see things work and with a communal spirit.

So, with having moved to Proof of Stake Version 2, and all the updating of core abilities, Neutron is functioning better than it ever has before, and it will only get better.

With that being said we have been fortunate to make good friends and as a result we have an alliance of sorts with both Swipp and Unigrid.

Both are amazing projects, with awesome developers that truly deserve way more attention than they receive.

We are all rallying to a move into a new wallet format that is built with electronjs.

The functionality that this will give us will be amazing, as we will be able to modify webcontent delivered directly to the wallets, all wallets.
We will be able to host anything web based that you can imagine, and change it by the minute if we wanted.
For me personally I envision several things, and when you consider the scope of the unigrid project and what it will do, possibilities become even greater.
I have also made it no secret that I intend to start a business exchanging NTRN and other cryptos of our choice, for Fiat credited to a debit card.
This means a person could directly sell their daily stakes for USD, and spend that money any way they need, anywhere they want with a VISA/MC.
Yes I am well aware of the legal needs and implications. I am also aware of the technical aspect to develop the platform, and secure an account managing card service.
This would be available from the NTRN electronjs wallet directly. But that is not all that would be able to be done, and the ideas and possibilities will only grow from there.
To mention a little more, Auto-update, Auto-strap, of course, rewards monitoring, (which is already in the current wallet), anyhow, you get it by now, and I apologize for this lengthy post. So yeah, there is actually I'm sure a ton of things I'm leaving out that should be mentioned. I will keep everyone posted, and I promise to do a better job of keeping up with things here on Bitcointalk.

• Even more aggressive block download from peers implemented by randomly flushing the known inventory of a random peer and re-asking about blocks
• The initial masternode list sync now fills out the whole winner list from the start by referencing the transactions in
  the block chain database
• Identified and resolved problems with the semaphore lock-order between threads. This could cause hangups and stalls and the problem was present in several locations of the daemon. Please refer to the change log (v4.0.2.666...v4.1.0) for further details
• Masternode scores are now calculated earlier in ConnectBlock(...)
• The request rate of masternode list updates has been cut in half

• Increase of the LevelDB memory cache, including several tweaks to the settings of the backend

• Remove proof-of-work field from RPC getinfo command - this was slowing it down
• During reorganize events, SetBestChain(...) now correctly repoints pindexNew to the last good block. This was one of the causes for the money supply being lost and seems to be a long standing bug in many cryptocurrency chains
• Update to the debug system for lock contention detection. If enabled and a lock takes more than half a second to acquire a warning is printed to the debug.log file

• The block syncing thread no longer allows itself to be choked by the rest of the application (it will forcefully take control and lock the main semaphore). The previous behavior with TRY_LOCK(...)

On Monday April 6th the Neutron Network encountered an anomaly in Difficulty Calculation, as the result of an outside attempt to inject a large number of Orphan Blocks and otherwise erroneous information. The anomaly caused the entire network to become "stuck". The Neutron Development Team has taken measures to both get the network moving again, and take the needed steps to ensure that this type of anomaly cannot happen again.

We ask that you please update the wallet on your server asap.

**(If possible please use our pre-compiled version to ensure there are no issues with dependencies as when someone compiles on their own)**

**(Please ensure that the Neutron wallet is on a server that is not overcrowded and has enough resources available for smooth operation)**

Once updated please use our Official Bootstrap to ensure a fast sync and correction to any possible issue related to the anomaly.
