"-gpu plafrom 0" did the trick.

SDK 2.6, tried 2.9 as well.
the error - "cldevicesnum returned error, no gpus usable"
its a gaming rig so i'd like to keep 13.12
update: omg i went back 13.11 B9.4 and still crashes...
