I'm having a devil of a time trying to move the Armory database and Armory keeps rewriting it in my SSD at C: (Windows OS). So what am I missing? Followed the instructions as best as I could at the troubleshooting site.
Armory is installed at F:\crypt\Armory\ArmoryQt.exe
I moved the BitcoinQT install to F:\Bitcoin
Bitcoin blocks are moved to F:\Bitcoin-Data
I have an Armory shortcut on the desktop with the target changed to F:\crypt\Armory\ArmoryQt.exe –satoshi-datadir=“F:\Bitcoin-Data” –datadir=”F:\Armory\dir” –dbdir=”F:\Armory\dir\databases" (I've tried a few permutations of this string. This is the latest attempt)
Once Armory starts up and runs through checking the blocks, it starts to rebuild the database at C:\Users\Yes\AppData\Roaming\Armory\databases and kills my SSD.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot where I'm going wrong here? Thanks.
Coinbase, at least in the US, is the fastest (though it's incredibly expensive), but I ended up going the Virwox route:
Buy SLLs using a Credit Card or Paypal, transfer to BTCs. As a new account, though, it'll take them a couple of days to approve the transfer. There is, however, a buy limit on Virwox, and since you seems to have a lot of money to burn, a bank transfer to one of the reputable exchanges is probably the best bet. I wasn't aware of the BTC-E problems, but maybe MtGox has a better reputation?
Started moving my USDs around and setting up all the accounts. It's taken two weeks (newbie tax) and now my chosen alt, LTC, has skyrocketed. "Fortunately," the alts all seem to follow BTCs progress right now, so my BTC purchased at $950 (UGH) will probably have the same buying power for LTC or PPC when they correct. But it's still rather maddening to have wanted to buy a few LTCs when they were at $5, to see them at $40 today.
I still have a lot of faith in LTCs, especially since they're yet to be picked up by Coindesk and the main Chinese exchange, but I would like them to correct before they shoot up again.
