1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we ready for a cryptocurrency equivalent of Facebook on: February 03, 2018, 02:34:35 PM
Basic plans.
Since most of revenues are generated by users revenue to be shared between users. Should try to crowdsource aspects of design. Have put in a bit of thought decided may need to use blockchain. Max revenue sharing will entail creating decentralized network as opposed to centralized network. Will probably need a cryptocurrency to back it up. Decentralized network will also mean difficult to censor it. Please share any other thoughts.

Coindruid poll result.

https://www.coindruid.com/

25/01/2018

Time for an update. To be honest I was not expecting to recieve a large number of votes, but the number of votes have been quite significant. 56 votes of which 12 are solidly for Ripple. I had asked for a coin to rise in 3 days. The price of Ripple has stayed more or less the same.  So that is it. For the rest of the results

Ripple    12
Ethereum    7
Spectrecoin    4
Bitcoin    4
Monero    2
NXT    1.

Ripple is an interesting product, but I had not expected it to be so dominant in the polls. Everyone knows everything about Ethereum, but Spectrecoin is a different matter . Spectrecoin is supposed to take us completely into the anonymous world. It can even be used in countries that ban TOR. Very interesting. As countries ban cryptocurrency this might be very important. But for what it is worth it is getting 4 votes.

Ok for the results on ICOs,

Fintab          3

Opporty        3

Blunner        2

Potentiam    1

Admittedly I should have given more options ,  but hey the site has just started. Am putting up a lot more options now.I will get the next results and try to expand on it.

For the results for PreICOS

Omnitude     3

Flashmoni    3

Babb             2

Snagride      1

Will increase the number of options and try to write something on the winners. For today this it.

Please vote . I have increased the options available. If anyone is interested in adding any particular coins/ICOs/PreICOs please inform me.

So more or less like Steem but without the blockchain? That’s not at all cryptocurrency though since like your goal doesn’t make any sense whatsoever

More or less like Steem. Flaws of Steem as I see it. More like Twitter. Facebook design improves user involvement. Signups take 7 days. Really? You are a social network. Users are your life.  Blockchain I am conflicted about it. I think I will eventually have to create some form of cryptocurrency for this. If I am thinking of putting it up here. There are other social networks in crypto. Sapien is one. But I do not think anything will be a challenge to Facebook, since all of these grow arithmetically. We need MLM for faster growth.

I think we already have something like this if I'm not wrong, ( i forgot the site btw)
Anyway i really like if this social media is decentralized, so user can post anything without being bothered by the owner of the site, and the privacy is most important here yeah you know most social media like facebook or Instagram they're making money with our data, believe it or not.

The site is called Steemit. Started in 2016. Slowly moving forward. What I feel is if we can incentivise adding new members, the new site should do some multilevel marketing a bit like Amway perhaps. That can increase participation and maybe create a challenge to Facebook.

The argument that open forums will create spam is clear. What I am saying is that perhaps it can be controlled. For example though Wikipedia has spam , it is by far the most important source of info in the planet. This forum for example has restrictions regarding spam. Reddit has quite significant restrictions. I am not trying to reduce reliance on Bitcoin. This has no relation to bitcointalk. This would be the equivalent of Facebook. A site where you would be reading stuff of people you follwo. And would be paid if people click on links that accompany your messages. To get someone to click perhaps you would require to create interetsing content.

I have seen Steem. It looks like thhe crypto equivalent of twitter perhaps.  Now I understand the argument that it will be full of spam. But all forums have measures to reduce spam and it should work for this as well. This forum for example. Perhaps if a person is downvoted continously it becomes more difficult for him to post or something like that. The persons timeline would be limited to friends only so if someone spams he can be removed maybe surreptitiously. But Steem grows by arithmetic progression. If we can incentivise participation growth rates can be improved.

Have been creating a plan for a social network like Facebook using cryptos. Does anyone have any ideas. I feel social networks , since most of their value is created by users should end up paying users. If the payment can be in cryptos all the better. I am not interested in creating a new blockchain. There are quite a few blockchains floating around. Any ideas?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Polling results so far for best currency to hold on: January 23, 2018, 05:25:28 PM
I have created a new site which does regular polling on best ICOs, PreICOs, currency etc.

https://www.coindruid.com/

So far I have recieved very few submissions
As of now, Babb seems to be the most favoured Pre ICO, Ripple seems to be the most favoured currency.
Ripple certainly has risen by 15 percent as of now, so the polling can be said to be correct so far. Any one wishing to join the poll is welcome to do so at the site above. I will be posting regular results in this thread.

We will be announcing the results in various forums.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Starting a new site aimed at regular polls and ICO Token free listing on: January 22, 2018, 01:56:30 PM
We have started a new site aimed at conducting regular polls to assess public perception of ICOs.

 https://www.coindruid.com/

It will also include free listing of all ICOs. The site is in beta mode and hence still a work in progress. Any suggestions for changes to be made are welcome and can be sent to me. Anyone interested in listing their ICO in the site can send details to the email provided. Listing will be free.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Ethereum Overthrown Bitcoin? on: January 22, 2018, 12:39:46 AM
It can. There will also be other coins. Nost cryptocurrency now come with mostly empty promises. Spectre might be good if they can pull off actual total privacy. Telegram might put out an ICO which can be strong. The only thing I do not like about Ethereum is that it is creating all these ER-20 currencies which are gradually eroding its value. But that is its main function .That is  what gives it value. So while it can do so I do not think it will in value. In overall market capitalization it may. Other cryptos can come and they may do so.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum 2k USD in February? on: January 22, 2018, 12:21:58 AM
Unlikely in my opinion. It will stay put for a few more months.
