1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: descendant of NXT - Imagine Fairness! on: January 21, 2014, 07:52:05 PM
I'm interested in this...but as others say it's unclear what's going on and how we get a stake. Answers please?

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] GPool (DTC Pool) -- English website has been published! on: January 02, 2014, 08:43:13 AM
Hiya dtcfan, thanks for your efforts in building the DTC pool. I've been using this for a week or two now and it has worked well but over last night I have noticed a problem- no shares on 2 out of my 3 machines running the miner are showing on http://dtc.gpool.net/user/[payout address], and payouts are therefore very low. Coincidentally both of these machines are running the miner on 2 cores, whereas the one which is still showing is only on 1. Any idea why I might be getting this problem?

Many thanks :-)

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (DTC) Digital Ocean VPN Guide For Mining Datacoin At First New Pool on: January 02, 2014, 08:25:15 AM
This pool seems to have been messing around this morning- of 3 machines mining the shares are only showing for 1 of them on the website http://dtc.gpool.net/user/[payout address] and payout was thus correspondingly low. The other 2 are running multi core jobs so am wondering if this might be the issue. Either that or the pool have decided to charge 68% fees ;-)

NXT sounds like a very interesting coin- I really like the functional and environmental advantages it could offer which seem to overcome some of the major disadvantages of BTC. I have put my money where my mouth is and bought ~20K NXT. I think if the promotion (and clarity of information on the websites) improves then this has really serious potential as it's so different to the other coins out there. Have posted on Facebook about it too :-)

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MemoryCoin 2.0 (MMC) - Now With Block Rewards! on: December 17, 2013, 09:10:41 AM
Think I'll give up with this one. Everything about it seems dodgy sadly...the massive pre- mine making it so hard to get a block despite this being a 'new' coin, the full block rewards coming 24h earlier than announced, and the miner on Linux only seems to work about half the time and struggles to connect for the rest. A lot of effort and computer time for little or no reward (other than the creators and a few lottery winners)...anyone got any better suggestions than this coin?

So after being told that the full block rewards would be 48 hours after launch am I right in thinking that they were actually switched on at an arbitrary time yesterday, contrary to that promise?

Also I was wondering what the output of  the 'datacoind listaccounts' is which is included in the watch command, I get

{
    "" : 0.00000000
}

now 0 is the balance obviously, but what does the empty blank string refer to? Should something be in the string?

Thanks bidji29 for your generosity :-)

I'll update everyone on how well I get on. I guess that to get a rough idea of how many blocks per day I will get the Primecoin calculator at http://anty.info/primecoin-calculator/ should be useful if we change the difficulty for the current Datacoin value? Or is the calculation for datacoin substantially different for some reason?

Many thanks for the guide, it all seemed to compile smoothly and is up and running. This is my first foray into Linux command line style mining so I think I might be being dim here, but how do I find the wallet address associated with this mining effort and send coins to my Windows DTC wallet once I have mined some on the DO server?

Thanks

 I was wondering if anyone can point me to a document describing the format and layout of the FoundShares.log file which rdebourbon's jhprimeminer produces? I'd like to extract and plot some data from mine if possible to analyse what my changes to settings are doing. I'm aware of the Unofficial jhprimeminer thread on here at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=257623.0 but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful.

Since I'm new to posting on here I'm forced to post this in the newbies section, hope someone who mines Primecoin may be looking!
