2017 has undoubtedly been the year of bitcoin, breaking $1000 dollars on New Year's Day before rocketing up to $15000 in early December. That's a return of 1500 percent! And as market fascination grows, investors are beginning to understand the real secret behind bitcoin's success - the blockchain. Blockchain is transforming markets with bitcoin, but that is only the beginning - it could soon change the world. Included in today's comment: Rapid7 Inc. (NASDAQ: RPD), Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ: AMD), Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), Shopify Inc. (NYSE: SHOP).

It is worth noting that salaries for economics graduates are among the highest of any discipline. Different research tends to find different starting salary values but it emerges that economics graduates are comparatively very well paid. The Institute for Fiscal Studies found that economics is the second most lucrative degree subject after using anonymised tax data and student loan records for 260,000 students up to ten years after graduation.

Economics will teach you about how your organization and its market behaves, but you’ll also gain insight into your own spending habits and values. For example, Willingness to Pay (WTP) is the maximum amount someone is willing to pay for a good or service. There’s frequently a gap between hypothetical and actual WTP, and learning about it will help you decode your own behavior and enable you to make economically sound decisions.

"Pay yourself first," says Meaney. "It's one of the smartest pieces of advice you can get." This means, first and foremost, contribute to your 401(k) if your employer offers one, and take full advantage of your company's 401(k) match program — which is essentially free money — if it has one.  Also, get in the habit of upping your contribution on a consistent basis — just 0.5% of an increase can make a difference — either once a year or every time you get a raise. Check online to see if you can set up "auto-increase," which will automatically increase your contributions every year.

Contrary to Real Estate, Stock Investment requires a great deal of knowledge to get started with. It’s basically buying a portion of ownership from a company of choice which are expressed in “Stocks” or “Shares”. The trickiest part is that stock prices change dynamically. It’s important to be attentive to figure when to buy or sell stocks. The basic rule is to buy stocks when price is low, then sell at its peak. But this doesn’t always work since some companies never manage to increase value once they drop their price per share.

Perhaps when we start thinking we’ll push past the paralysis of thinking Bitcoin is a bubble. Perhaps then we will see Bitcoin for what it truly is: not a bubble -- but a new Boom. Like the industrial boom. Like the tech boom. Bitcoin is the beginning of the financial boom.

Just a theory, when social media was created, it was made just for the sake of people's fun. Take YouTube as an example, if you check older videos like Leek Spin, you can see they were all mainly just a joke. Old YouTube was all about short videos, and short videos that were worth a laugh. But then later on, it all changed.

Taking the first step is always the hardest. But going for a walk or getting up and dancing to your favorite music, for example, is something you can do right now. And it can substantially boost your mood and energy for several hours—long enough to put a second recovery step into action, such as preparing a mood-boosting meal or arranging to meet an old friend. By taking the following small but positive steps day by day, you’ll soon soon lift the heavy fog of depression and find yourself feeling happier, healthier, and more hopeful again.

Again, especially historically, religious hierarchies have been important agents of redistribution, taking in contributions of money and resources, and redistributing on the basis of need. The opening of religious buildings for community use or in times of disaster also qualifies. There is also individual support in terms of emotional counseling, spiritual guidance, and material assistance in times of trouble.

Do the best I can on my sociology and political science exams this week.
Bake a cake for my aunt’s birthday.
Finish translating Pejling well before the deadline.
Get most of the Christmas shopping done before the middle of December.

I don’t think it’s so much that religion is dying, but rather that science is progressing. A lot of religion and ancient mythology was created to explain why things happened. Now, though, we have science to explain most of those concepts.
12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: January 23, 2018, 10:43:08 PM
For me it's all about freedom. The 2nd Amendment gives us the right to keep and bear arms. That right has been infringed upon enough. Gun control is a joke. How would you like to live in a society where only the police and criminals had guns ? Not me.
