1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / running Bitcoin Core from an external hard drive on a MacBook on: May 01, 2020, 05:23:00 PM
I have been running a Bitcoin core node on an old macbook, storing the 300+gb on an old harddrive I had.
When I plug in the Bitcoin HDD to another Mac and try to run Bitcoin Core, it doesn't recognise that the entire blockchain is already on the HDD, and asks me for a storage location.
I no longer have the bitcoin file in the application support folder on the macbook, it got lost. Is there any way of taking advantage of what I already have downloaded? And accessing the wallet I have there?

Good to read all these comments.
I agree that Sats is the common parlance and it's easy enough to write but there probably will come a time when it will require a symbol. Agreed that the $ just won't do and it would make a lot of sense to use a symbol we all have access to such as the   §   symbol
