1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: May 24, 2018, 02:16:53 PM
Hi, I have a small issue with SMOS, I had this 7 card amd rx570 rig on a H270-A pro MB and 16 GB usb stick, 4 gb ram.

I moved this rig to my SMOS, this would be rig #2 for me on SMOS. This rig was very stable on windows, but since i moved it over to SMOS i have GPU hangs and SMOS reboots about every 25min's to 2 hours.

Nothing changed besides the Drive and OS, I use same OC settings as i did in windows and SMOS is only 1 Mh's slower, which is fine. i just need this thing stable ?

any idea's?

p.s. what is the powerstage setting ? and what is a recommend stage ?

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: OverdriveNTool How to set fans properly on: May 09, 2018, 11:03:12 PM
Ok i figured it out i think,

I simply had to raise the RPM

MIN: 2000
Max: 3500

Now it will speed up to full fans if needed, Every card brand is different and adjust according
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / OverdriveNTool How to set fans properly on: May 09, 2018, 08:25:57 PM
Hi, I been using overdriventool for a couple month's now and really enjoy the simplicity of the OC settings, Everything there is fine. But the fan control's I do not all understand?

I have all AMD RX570's

Asus gaming OC 4gb & MSI Armours 4gb,8gb & XFX 4gb RX570's

My question is about the acoustical limit and RPM speeds?

Because i have the MSI and XFX Cards will go above the target temp of 60C, and the fan speed is only 48%. matter of fact all of the msi wont go above 48% fan speed and going above the target temp, what am i doing wrong?

 RPM LOW: 1330
 RPM HIGH: 2200

 Target Temp: 60c

 Acoustical Limit: 910 Mhz

OC Settings:

1100/1150 CC
850 VC

2000Mhz
900VC

All 1500 Timing Strap Bios modded

I have two questions about SMOS?

- What does it mean don't assign a public ip address to your rig? What if i have a static IP from my isp

-is there any other cost than $2 a month? what miner does SMOS use? Does it use Claymore? if so, what about the Dev fee?

To the first question - public access means bots can login to the miner via ssh. You probably know what you're doing to do that. As long as you plug it in your network on the inside of a firewall, you have a private IP address. Don't port forward ssh to the miner.

cost: $2/month is for the SMOS software only. Any mining dev fees are separate. SMOS bundles many miners so you have your choice.

so basically do not forward any port? and have a firewall?

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Running at 145 MH/s, Earns 0.33 ETH/month, is it worth? on: April 22, 2018, 04:19:55 PM
When i First started GPU Mining i did the same thing, Hooked everything up and then started tweaking, Until i Bios modded did life get easier for me as a GPU Miner, Get all those cards Bios modded! You are losing allot of money now, even more if you had to pay for the cost of electricity.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How are you guys paying for electricity and bills? on: March 03, 2018, 08:13:43 PM
Was anyone tried wind generated electricity to power mining rigs ? I know i live in a constant windy location most of the year, 5-20 Mph, with gust with as much as 40 mph during average storms. Wouldn't a high amperage dc motor spinning in the wind give you .5-1 Kwh ?

ie. cloth dryer motor
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / HP Server Power supply Questions? on: February 23, 2018, 03:43:36 PM
I have built a dozen computers in my life and always used a ATX PSU, Never a Server PSU. I never been around a server yet. Iam just a PC gamer/Miner.

Anyway's i have a few questions?

First What is a good Server PS? I want one for X7 RX 570's, Would a 1200W Server PSU be enough?

Also, on these Server PSU's Do i need to run 220V to get above 1000W output ? What is the Amp limit on 110V ? I know my circuit breaker is 15A for 110V. So does this mean i can run only one 1200W=12A on this circuit breaker ? " Leaving 3A's for other stuff like TV,Fans,Lights,ETC

Finally which breakout board is recommended and Pico ATX adaptor?

I want to run everything off the server PSU, Also my CPU needs a 8-pin CPU plug, All i seen on the ATX pico Adaptors was a 4 pin Cpu, Would i just need a 4pin to 8pin cpu adaptor ?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Modded RX570's can't get wattage down? on: February 19, 2018, 03:50:24 PM
On that note, make sure to disable driver updates.

How do i disable driver updates? is this a AMD setting ?

Iam using 17.1 driver and it did not update itself, but i did notice before i adjusted any underclock or volt, that the core clock was not even hitting the stock setting in GPU-Z , Now once i undervolted the core clock went up to stock range in gpu-z and then if i lower the clock, it will lower the hashrate by 1.5 MH/s

Does this sound like i just need to DDU and reinstall blockchain drivers ?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Modded RX570's can't get wattage down? on: February 19, 2018, 03:41:49 PM
Set a lower clock speed, underclock and power limit in the Claymore bat/config e.g.

-cclock 1150,1150,1150,1150,1150
-mclock 2000,2000,2000,1900,2000
-powlim -10,-10,-10,-13,-15,-5
-cvddc 950,925,925,900,950
-mvddc 950,925,925,900,950

or use OverdriveNtool to create profiles for your cards as explained on www.mining.help.

Great stuff here! I will give this a shot when i get back to my rig and update!

I plan to switch to OverdriveNtool, and create a start bat file like in mining guide, so if the rig restart/s the cards get clocked right and miner restarts itself, But need to get this figured out first with the wattage issue.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Modded RX570's can't get wattage down? on: February 18, 2018, 04:27:01 PM
I just recently bios modded my five rx570's and happy with the 142.9MH/s but is pulling 950 watts from wall? I noticed when i was tweaking the cards i could not lower the clock settings at all or it would lose 1.5Mh/s!!!! Did not matter if i lower clock to 1250 or 1100 or in between same result for ever card that are mismatched brands. I was able to undervolt and seemed to help alittle, but iam pulling way to many watts you think ?

System:

H270A-Pro
G3920
250GB Sata HD
Evga 750 G2 gold PSU
Evga 600 Bronze PSU
Ver 006c risers

Cards:
X1 Sapphire Pulse 4Gb Elpida Hybrid 29.2 Mh's
X2 MSI Armor 4Gb Hynix hybrid 29.1 & 28.9 Mh's
X1 MSI Armor 8Gb Micron 27.8 Mh's
X1 Asus Strix Gaming 4Gb Hynix 28.7 Mh's

*All running stock clock core's 1268/1284/1300
*All undervolted 110 to 150
*All Memory OC to 2000 besides the micron likes 1900
*All Bios's Modded 1500 Straps copied to upper

I would like to get my MH/s the same but i need the watts down, any advice?

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Money to invest in mining on: February 13, 2018, 03:10:11 PM
As of right now the market is way out of balance, hardware prices are of the charts while the coin prices are way way way low. Does not make mining profitable at all. As someone said, unless you are a fan of hardware and coding, you are better of just keeping the BTC as BTC. Mining is for the geeks who loves the hardware! Not an investment.

I have to admit the hardware does make me geek out, but unless there was not a investment in mining, I would not be spending allot money to geek out on hardware, if you know what i mean !
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal is the first digital currency... on: February 13, 2018, 02:59:11 PM
To me, Paypal is like a easy worldwide currency exchange for goods if you think about it. You still have to have a traditional bank or CC to purchase or exchange for goods in any form of payment. IE USD, YEN, ETC
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How often do your Rigs restart or crash? on: January 31, 2018, 04:23:25 AM

Well!!

Seems adding the 600B did the trick! well its been :

ETH - Total Speed: 88.754 Mh/s, Total Shares: 831, Rejected: 0, Time: 27:02

27 hours since i added the 2nd PSU, I will get you updated if it happen's again.

BTW what i discovered on inspecting, GPU1 this was the only SATA wires warm to touch which gave the error, Also was the second gpu on sata from PSU, So now only one GPU per Sata line to relive any stress on the wires.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How often do your Rigs restart or crash? on: January 29, 2018, 11:51:58 PM
What is the total wattage draw of the GPU's & MB and the rating of the PSU(s)?  As a rule of thumb, you don't want to exceed 80% of the PSU capacity.  Also may need to check circuit this on and make sure it isn't being pushed beyond 80% -ex, if on 15A ckt, then W= A x V, assuming 120V, then Watts=1800 and 80% of this= 1440W.

Great stuff here!

I forgot to mention i have a EVGA 750 G2 Gold

I pulling 632.5 @ this moment typing from the wall.

I have a EVGA 600B Bronze ready to add, but waiting for pcie extension cable's.

When i do get 6 gpu's, I will run four RX570 just on 750G2 and the other 2 RX570's and System on the 600B.

ALSO?

I use at the moment Sata to 6pin to power my risers, i have molex to 6pin in mail. It has two molex into 6pin, do i need to hook up both molex's to work?

Ok i just did the math, 80 % of 750 = 600

I'am pulling 615 to 630. I need to add this 600B ASAP!
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How often do your Rigs restart or crash? on: January 29, 2018, 03:49:45 PM
Well, I think i finally got my system stable. I swapped out MB and now using H270A Pro. Before i had allot of Crash restarts, until now it is very stable, besides last night. The rig never turned off, Fans where same speed as always. But the room was cold, I turned on the mointer and could not get any signal. Checked Nanopool, and it was not hashing for 3 hours. Any idea's ?

So my question to everyone is how often your Rig crashes and what was the cause and fix?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Money to invest in mining on: January 29, 2018, 12:55:57 AM
Power here is only .074/Kwh Springfield ,MO USA
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / My First Mining Rig on: January 28, 2018, 05:55:39 PM

My ETH Mining Rig!

GPU= X2 MSI RX570 Armor 4GB, X1 Sapphire Pulse RX570 4GB, X1 Asus Strix RX570 4GB
PSU=EVGA 750G2 Gold
MB= MSI H270A PRO
CPU= G3930
RAM= DDR4 2133 4GB
RISERS= Ver. 006c
Storage= 7200 RPM 250GB Sata Hard Drive
OS= Win 10 Pro 64-bit

[/center]

Next i will mod the Bios on all four RX570's. They are all running stock and get 22.1 MH/s each, but the sapphire does 22.5.

All are Hynix memory and the sapphire is elpida.

What should i expect from these cards once modded?

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Upgrading PC for mining on: January 28, 2018, 05:00:24 PM
Those cards is not worth mining, too low hash rate for the power used. ow as far as mixing differnt GPU's on same computer. Yes that will work but try to stay all AMD or ALL nvidia.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with 2 GPU, will My PSU works? on: January 28, 2018, 04:49:38 PM
Yes, it should work. But recommended NO! This would be pushing it since you have a i7. It would work if you undervolted and underclocked the core's.

Also what is this PSU rated at?  gold ?
