1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What PSU i need for 4x1060 ? on: January 26, 2018, 08:32:21 AM
I order 4x msi 1060 3gb so tell me what psu i should buy for them?

So currently im squeezing 95 watts on my zotac 1060 mini. So I reckon 500 watt should be pushing it but obviously you can expand more cards at a later stage getting a bigger psu.
So if your board only accepts 4 cards, then you can get those PCI-E extenders which extends your PCI-E cards from 1 port to 4 ports XD.
I want to try one of those things at a later stage instead of having to buy new PSU ect...
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 26, 2018, 05:57:48 AM
I really dont think GPU mining will die anytime soon due to there being so many new coins launched that require proof of work.
The mining also add's a layer of security onto the coins framework.

Yes some of the bigger coins like ethereum will move onto proof of stake, but it's not in the bigger coins that you make your money on. It's the smaller coins that will boom is where you make your money.

As the GPU hardware get much stronger and more powerful, all the more reason to have proof of work with mining.
As of now, the current hardware out now is more than capable of solving blocks really quickly. Ethereum has slowed down the rewards per miner as they do not want the coins to be distributed that quick to the market.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: It has begun. Video card companies STOP offering warrenties on their video cards on: January 26, 2018, 05:50:05 AM
I think the biggest problem is that the GPU manufacturer will not know if the card has been used for mining or not.
You can easily say that you are a reseller of the cards and that you getting them RMA'd for your current customers.

Although I think that they will figure something out to add onto the newer gfx cards to check how many hours it has worked hard for ect.
Just like how manufacturers put into ssd's on what the power on time is, how many times it has been powered on, the amount of times its been written to ect. So I wouldnt imagine it would be hard to do.

StorJ if you have fast internet.
Then mine BURST in background, on free space from StorJ.

Smiley

how many coins do you get for hard drive mining?

I am not 100% sure if it was SIA coin or if it was from burst. But I did see that a forum member did post that he was making around $18 per month by just renting out their 8tb hard drive.
But from the comments above I want to see if I can stack it like they said where you run storj and burst at the same time.

I think comming from a price perspective of $199 is a really good price point considering you get mobo and cpu.

My only concern when it comes to mining is that the cards might not have enough airflow(ofc depending which cards you have).
So with PCI-E risers and cards hanging in the air, you don't actaully have anything that restricts the air from reaching your gfx cards, where as this board will restrict airflow going to your cards from one direction.
I have seen a review of this board on youtube and it looks promising comming from the price point.

I guess with the biostar BTC boards you can at least use it as a normal pc if you want to one day.

I have GTX 1060 6GB mining through ubuntu minergate..
ASROCK h81 BTC 2.0

Only 15Mh  in ether mining from one Graphics so i wan to know is it right or i have some issue...

Guys please help me is it right or not

You should be definately getting more from mining ethereum. Im currently running a zotac GTX 1060 3gb card and im currently getting 23 MH/s.
If you running a 1060 you should be able to push it to 26mh/s

Im currently running claymore dual miner version 10 and more core clock is +100 and +500 on memory clocks on the card to reach that amount.
Sure its a 1 fan card so it will get hot so I stuck a desk fan to cool the card down.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1080 vs GTX 1080 Ti on: January 25, 2018, 06:33:15 AM
So I think the answer to this question would be an obvious one here, obviously the 1080ti...

I think your question should also factor in the cost to performance ratio of the 1080 and the 1080ti.
You are going to spend around $200-$300 more for a 1080ti.
If you have a look below at the calculations from nicehash on both cards.

Please see the 1080 below:
https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/nvidia-gtx-1080?e=0.1&currency=USD

and the 1080TI below:
https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/nvidia-gtx-1080-ti?e=0.1&currency=USD

So the income per month right now on the 1080 is $151.77 and $176.13 on the 1080ti.
That is a difference of $24.36 per month that you would be earning extra.
So to make up for the income difference per month is going to take some time.

Just take note that the 1080ti also has a higher power consumption.
