You are missing the important point where I said they also have a game in hand. I would rather call it a 2 point gap at this point since they're almost at full strength and that's not a lot to catch up to. Just one unexpected loss from Liverpool and we may see a change in leaderboard.

I think it's still a bit hard since Liverpool are in advantage and I agree with what you are saying but what if City also loses some points in attempt to cover the gap? It will be all same again. The pressure is too huge for the top teams in the PL table right now. The one who is consistent will be the one winning the season. Liverpool no doubt have maintained better consistency and I feel if they continue to perform like this, then they will for sure will win the title this season.

Las Palmas vs Barca today, this match will be not easy for Barca.
Las Palmas only lost once from their last 8 home games and no team has ever scored twice yet in the Las Palmas home during this season.
They are 10th in the league, and that is good enough considering they were playing on the Segunda division last year.

Under 3 sounds good?

Well you have Barcelona against Las Palmas so you never know what might happen in this. Could end up in under 3 goals and above as well as Barcelona have some good goalscorers as well. Past records doesn't gives a strong idea on what might happen next and Barcelona have a good squad. Yeah they are underperforming right but you never know, that might change also and maybe this fixture could be the one.

I am gonna go with a small bet on both teams to score as Barcelona have failed to protect their net in last few fixtures. Hope I come out as winner tonight.

I mean Eddie Howe is doing an alright job. But I guess it was not enough for the Saudi Owners. But we have to take a look at where he is being held back. He has a big list of injuries. Probably his team has suffered the most injuries in the Premier League. They have not spent much money either considering they are a team owned by the Arabs. But I think they should not sack Eddie Howe. He got them the ticket to UCL last season and if the team stays out of injury then they can achieve it this season as well. The Premier League is very competitive so it is no easy job.

I don't know if Girona's coach will be enough either.

Yeah injuries has held them back but its all about board and how they see the management of Eddie Howe before coming to a decision. So far Howe's contribution to the Magpies has been very good but since now the expectations has changed so it is possible that Howe might face sack even with all those achievements with Newcastle last season. In my honest opinion, Howe would be given some more chances and if he doesn't lives up to those chances then I think he will be sacked without a doubt.

Yes, Premier League is not an easy one but all the clubs also wants to finish better and in order to finish better they need to makes chances and sacking coaches and signing a new coach is one of the way clubs usually find in order to get back on track.

I feel like it's basically obvious that Arsenal is gone, they are not going to win the title. Don't get me wrong, they are still quite close to the top, and it could still happen, but I really do not think that they will overturn anything. They have lost two very crucial games that they needed to make six points, if they did, they would be 46 points, leader of the league, and also just one point ahead of Liverpool but four points ahead of third Aston Villa, so that would put some distance.

Also, not a lot of people talk about this, but Aston Villa, a team nobody saw coming all year long, is second with just three points difference from the leader. If Liverpool loses one game and Aston Villa wins, they are tied for leadership. I honestly did not see that coming.

The chances are not gone for Arsenal. They are pretty much behind from the top placed teams and there are three teams ahead of them on the table so it is a bit hard for them but it is still doable if they start to take things seriously and keep getting maximum points out of the remaining matches.

About Aston Villa, they have been spectacular. At first it was Spurs who had a very good first half but Villa were also performing quite consistently but the main spotlight was on Spurs as they were doing quite well than Villa. But as soon as Spurs saw the dip and Villa maintained their consistency, Villa has got all the spotlight now. Emery has done a great job with the squad and they have some very good players right now. They have some good wingers and midfield and defence is also quite strong. No wonder they are doing well till now in Premier League. Question is can they maintain it till the end?

When Míchel Sánchez is on the rise with Girona now there are rumors from MARCA said Newcastle are considering recruiting the Girona coach to replace Eddie Howe who is currently starting to slump, I say this is a bold move for Newcastle but my question is: Is it possible Girona will let him go in the winter?
I don't think that's likely to happen especially now Girona are on fire hard to beat if their coach leaves then it will be chaotic.

This is just a rumor, it is not clear what will happen later whether Eddie Howe will be replaced in the near future or kept by Newcastle.

It's just a rumour I think. They might be having some thoughts but I don't think think it will materialize in the end. Girona are on a great form surprisingly this season and I don't think that Girona at all are willing to let him go in mid season as they will lose the momentum if anything changes inside the squad. Besides Newcastle will be discussing inside about sacking Eddie Howe and getting a new manager but to sign Girona manager Sanchez seems very hard to me.

I think Arsenal could be one of the top four teams in the league, but I know Arsenal's goal is more than the top four. That's why Arsenal is still racing for the title. Together with a quality striker, they will increase their chances of achieving this. The league title is very important for Arsenal because they have been trying to get it for years.

Arsenal will do better than just stopping at the top four, Arsenal is great but they just like falling in my hand after saying so much about them winning the trophy, and now we are talking about the top four that is just disappointing if they should be put more effort it would much easier to even win the premier league than winning the champions league and if we don't get serious it will even get more difficult for us to win any trophy now. because now Manchester City is already getting their head back in the game game and Liverpool is another challenge on its own.

Yes, they have to. Arsenal failed last season to finish at the top but that was different thing as injuries got us near the conclusion of the season but this season Arsenal have been busy in the transfer windows and we have signed some really good players and have spent a lot of money so this season they have to finish at the top. It really hurts to see them being inconsistent when they had all the advantage. Still I am glad that they have advanced in CL but they have to do good in PL too. We are making the same mistakes we did last season. We need that confidence back again that we used to have otherwise it will be same thing over and over again.

Through its official page on Twitter, Manchester United officially parted ways with Sergio Reguilon after working together after half a season. Sergio Reguilon will return to Spurs and will be part of coach Ange's squad. At the start of this season, Manchester United had to make emergency transfers because many of their defensive players were injured, so they had to look for wing-back options to strengthen their defensive links. Luckily they were able to get Sergio Reguilon on loan for half a season.

Now the Red Devils are definitely ready to embark on another half season and several of their players have now returned from injury and of course they will still use the same players and will not change them until this season ends. It also looks like they won't buy any more defenders this January.

Reguilon is a good player but yeah at United he himself has found it hard time getting regular playing chances. With Spurs also I feel it will be kinda same but at least at Spurs there is positive vibe right now inside the dressing room. Anyway I think, with this he himself has found in the same position as at Tottenham Udogie seems to be the regular lineup choice for Postecoglou.

As for Red devils, I think situation is still the same. Let's see how ten Haag led United performs in the second half.

If Xabi can win either Bundesliga or Europa League, it's better for Manchester United to hire him and kick the bald guy. Manchester United already lose their legacy as one of toughest team in Premier League. They need to find a good coach who can able to develop the whole team, just like Xabi who wasn't sign many players, but he develop the existing players with a new strategy.

I don't know why but I feel Xabi to Leverkusen seems hard to me. Xabi has just started at Leverkusen and no doubt United is a big club but I feel he might want to continue a bit more years at Leverkusen before going on to manage some big clubs. As for United also, there will be lot of other experienced candidates in priority before Xabi on the list so even if he is on the list someone else might replace ten Haag if board is thinking of sacking him. Xabi does have qualities but situation at United needs someone big and experienced who can build up a huge squad well.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 03, 2024, 04:42:55 PM
Since Bayern Munich is a giant team, a striker that suits Bayern Munich is Harry Kane. The goals he scored in the Bundesliga show how much the team needs him. Bayern's offensive line now scares its opponents. Harry Kane has already scored 21 goals in the Bundesliga. I think this figure is the highest in recent years.

The moment he made a move to Bayern from Spurs it was obvious that he will be scoring lot of goals. With Spurs he had this duo role of scoring and assisting players on the wing in attacking buildups buth now at Bayern he is enjoying his pure striker role and scoring lot of goals. No wonder he is top scorer of Bundesliga right now with 21 goals. The player of such calibre has to have a title under his belt and with Bayern he can achieve lot more. Right now Bayern are 2nd on the table but they can come out to win the title this season and I hope they do so that Kane can really have something.

Liverpool have not performed well in the Champions League this season, making it a bit easier for Liverpool  to perform consistently well in the Premier League. Although  they are playing in the Europa League, the  Europa League teams are relatively weak.

Yeah well that's also a reason but I think to play two competitions simultaneously no matter what the difficulty isn't an easy feat for any club.

Liverpool played  very poorly last season. But their  performance has been very stable since the  beginning of this season. They  have been able to maintain consistency. At the same time,  Liverpool players are not  getting too many major injuries. This is why their  performance is stable. While Arsenal and Manchester City have dropped points in several matches, Liverpool have managed to hold on to the top spot in the points table.

Last season they had injuries and all and Klopp had hard time to choose his strong midfield. I am glad that now they are back on track and are moving things the way they earlier used to. There are certain players who are yet to perform at the top level so there is still some development needed. Yes, this season they hadn't had much injury issues so they are running out fine but they might want to use their players carefully otherwise they will go back to the same position they were in last season. Well not like same position but certainly will drop a few places back but it will hurt given how hard they have performed so far and to come out and lose in the end.

We are leading the league table. Villa and Arsenal are no threat. City is concern but 5 points behind. Hope we don't lose motivation.
The EPL table keep changing and we know the elite clubs that would become competitive. Motivation, consistency and hardwork is what Liverpool need to fuel the stage. You're mocking other elite clubs yeah? Who has the best laugh? The EPL campaign have not ended, so these clubs mentioned have potentials of climbing to the first spot. Liverpool is lucky enough to have Jurgen Klopp who have boosts the onfidence of the club at Anfield. You're a Liverpool fan, you're happy, it's normal but don't get carried away because there are clubs that might not be doing good presently but they will certainly bounce back to good form.

Liverpool had faced lot of upsets last season and now this season they are coming back strong. Glad to see a rival coming back up from hard time. However yeah City can make their gap to 2 points considering they are one game behind Liverpool at current. Also season is still long and Liverpool also has to make sure that they maintain their consistency otherwise others will overtake them on the table. Arsenal missed their best chance and Villa are also trying hard so it is what gave Liverpool the room to lead the table. This season is bit unpredictable and I am loving the way things are getting warmed up by the middle of the season.. can't wait to see how it builds up next.

It seems João Félix had a poor performance and his performance was weak enough to make Xavi mad at this player. Before João Félix joined Barcelona he said how loved this team and he wanted to play for Barcelona but this player mostly couldn't have good performances since he started playing for Barcelona,
In the game between Barcelona and Almería, the performance of João Félix was weak enough to make Xavi not use this player in the best squad in the game against Las Palmas.

I don't think it's about weak performance. Its more about giving chances to others and while in that game I think manager just wanted to rotate the squad in half time and nothing else. Obviously Felix wouldn't be happy but it's all about tactics and managers knows it the best. Also isn't Las Palmas game still to happen? I think Felix will start the game. Possible that manager might change the starting squad but I expect Felix to feature in the game later on because the guy has impressive work rate on the wings and that is what Barcelona wants to keep some pressure on the wings in the hopes to get some potential attacking plays.

Top 5 Premier League Scorers while on season break.
1. Mohamed Salah 14 goals2. Erling Haaland 14 goals
3. Son Heung-min 12 goals4. Dominic Solanke 12 goals
5. Jarrod Bowen, 11 goals
Mohamed Salah is one of the players who can make the most goals and assists. It means Mohamed Salah is a player with very good statistics for a forward.

Haaland is out with injury so I can see why Salah is topping the goalscorer table but I think Haaland would have been at the top of he hadn't been injured. Anyway I still do agree that Salah contributes a lot to the team with assists and goals. He is certainly a team player and I love watching in highly competitive matches. Still miss those days when Firmino, Mane and Salah were hard for the opponents to deal with.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 02, 2024, 03:38:50 PM
I think in the upcoming match West Ham has a chance to get three points. Moyes' team has an excellent form, plays at home and has no serious problems with the squad. Brighton is a strong and played team, but recently the Seagulls have often lost points. Although in the last round Brighton managed to inflict a defeat on Tottenham. So West Ham is waiting for a tough game.

I think Brighton also have some good players. Hammers on other hand are also a tough team. I think both are on equal terms. If we take performance into consideration then obviously West Ham are performing better but make no mistake of undermining Brighton at all because they had crazy last season and are capable of big things for example the last game win against Spurs with 4-2 scoreline. Its hard to pick a winner but I expect both teams to score in this match.

As was revealed several weeks ago, Donny van De Beek has finally officially joined Frankfurt on loan until the end of this season. The news is quite surprising because we have barely seen his performance at Manchester United for half this season and he made the right decision by joining Frnakfurt. At least he will start getting regular minutes with Frankfurt and try to give his best performance. Even though his performance is quite doubtful, at least he can prove that Manchester United have misjudged him.

Source: https://twitter.com/DeadlineDayLive/status/1741784625184166068

Yeah, he atleast now has the chance to prove that he has the calibre to play for big teams. With United it was doubt from the beginning with all the players in midfield. It's tough for a player to come in a big team with fierce competition for the playing. With Frankfurt, it's also still not clear if he will get starting minutes in all the games but it is for sure that he will get at least decent amount of chances as compared to situation at Untied where it was none.

On the other hand, there is Lucas Beraldo who was also officially announced to join PSG today and as a young talent from Brazil it is hoped that he can help PSG's defense line become stronger. As a defender, that is of course what coach Luis Enrique wants and with the increasingly busy competition schedule starting in 2024, he certainly hopes that Lucas Beraldo will be a good solution for the team.

Source: https://twitter.com/DeadlineDayLive/status/1741810623933992985

I feel that this signing is somewhat like one for the future and not for the regular squad. They already have good no. of players in defence so I think Beraldo right into regular defence lineup scene is doubtful. Maybe in future he will be regular but as of now there are lot of options that I feel Luis Enrique will give priority over Beraldo.

It's shocking to see that they earned four points from the last five games they played. Arsenal have failed the fans but just as Declan Rice said, it's not good to panic as there are enough game to make up with the loses they've had recently.
The transfer window begins already and it's time for Edu to show his worth once again, he should get help and energetic youngins in midfied, I don't know about their plans for Douglas Luiz another speculations?

Douglas Luiz will be a tough one as he recently had his contract extended with Villa and he is main man in midfield for them. I think if Arsenal approaches Villa for Douglas Luiz, they will easily be asking for at least 50-60m Euro for him which I think is a bit expensive.

People also complain about Andrea Onana for Manchester United,  have you taken a good look at David Raya? The goal conceded against Luton Town was the most shocking.

Well mistakes do happen. What I don't like right now is lack of chances for Ramsdale who had been performing just perfect for Arsenal for lot of years. He is someone who is always leading the defence line and very involved inside the game.

These are good coaches but the media will blast them for errors snce they're not british. At the least stages of the season, Aaron Ramsdale also committed huge blunders that caused em the league. Was he blasted in anyway?

I don't think its about being british or not. Like I said, every goalkeeper makes some errors in his career and even Ramsdale had faced some criticism but the thing is how they take them next. Ramsdale is always kind of confronting type guy and takes these things as challenges. I feel like Ramsdale should be given more chances in between, he is just being left out for so much time now.

Arda Guler has been expected to be in Real Madrid squad for the Mallorca game so far and I hope this doesn't change again. This is a game he can finally have a chance in for the first time. Ancelotti would keep him on the bench until securing the win by a decent score. After that maybe for 10 minutes or less we might see him on the pitch.

I don't think he has had his time with injuries completely. Real Madrid must have been working on his physique to be better on one hand. He has a good talent but as long as we don't see him on the pitch it doesn't matter unfortunately.  Sad

Its hard for manager actually to trust a young player when the table is getting very competitive which is what is happening right now. After Madrid are ahead with considerable gap on the table and things doesn't matters much, then manager might give him chances much more frequently. Right now Guler is out with injury and manager might wants to make things smoothly for Guler to settle up after a long term injury. There is no rush, Ancelotti has plenty of options and Guler is a massive talent so manager just wants to make sure that everything goes on smoothly.

Arsenal lost 2-1 away to Fulham after taking the lead in the 5th minute.Arsenal are in a poor run of form and if they don't bounce back quickly they will fall behind in the title race.Arsenal were not at their best in the second half, taking the lead through Saka's goal but ending the first half 1-1. In the 59th minute Cordova-Reid's goal was an important win for Fulham who managed to win the match, but Arsenal suffered their 4th defeat in the league with this defeat and probably dropped 5 points away from the leader.Today we will watch the Liverpool-Newcastle United match.I don't expect Newcastle, who have had bad results in recent weeks, to take points away from Liverpool.I will be expecting Liverpool to win this match and open the gap.

True, the game against Fulham was a major setback for us. I thought that Arsenal will close 2023 with style but they really let lot of fans down. Now we have dropped to 4th place on the table with this defeat and lot of clubs has passed us. We were in comfortable seat with chance of leading the table by the end but the two back to back losses is what took it from us. I feel we are lacking goalscorer right now, lot of our star players are finding it hard to score the goals. We need to be competitive if we have to win the title otherwise we will drop out of the top 4 and might end up in between 6-10th position by the end of the season. Right now this is huge concern for Arsenal and there will certainly be lot of pressure inside the Arsenal's dressing room.

I also expect Arsenal to win tonight. Arsenal are on a good momentum right now and have far better quality than West ham. With Liverpool leading the table temporarily Arsenal will target to get the 3 points desperately and be on the front seat again on the table. Hammers are a tough opponent as they have some good players so Arsenal might have to be wary of their attacks.
West Ham will not be of any threat to the Gunners tonight and I believe that Arsenal won't want to lose this game or draw after playing a 1-1 draw against Liverpool knowing that Liverpool won their game and also topping the table, this game is going to be very hard for the visitors because the Gunners are going to make the defense of the visitors to be very busy.
West Ham haven't been that good this season and I feel they have been lucky to even get a win against Manchester United just because Man UTD are having it hard to play as a unit.
Arsenal need to win this game to go back to the top of the table as league leaders but for that to happen Arteta need to make his back line to be more aggressive because West Ham have guys who likes running through every defense they play against and I don't see the West Ham defense to be that strong to stop Arsenal's attackers.

Yes, the game against was a good opportunity to create gap between them and Liverpool on the table but they lost that opportunity but still they managed to draw and maintain the gap so a decent outcome I would say. But from here on Arsenal needs to win the matches and become more consistent. Last season at the end lack of consistency is what took the title from us but this season we need to make amends and not make such mistakes again. Hammers haven't been their usual self but they have some tough players who can be very hard to deal with at times. Their attack is really good so it is really important for the defense to be alert in today's game. I hope Arsenal finds some early goals and maintains the pressure till the end and hope it ends with 3 points for Arsenal today but I still feel that it's not that easy.

Spurs have some injuries so I am not entirely convinced but considering their performance they should be able to get some points. Yes, I also wouldn't be surprised if Brighton also comes out to win the match as Spurs lack their regular players and might wobble a bit for the time being.
Injuries is the major threats most of these competitive elite clubs faces, because once their keyplayers is injured, we have nothing interesting or hope for because these elite clubs performance will definitely declined. Mikel Arteta knows the tactics he would implement if he wants to win top matches. We become very competitive and interesting when our favorite clubs have fixtures to play. Arsenal taking home three points without doubt but where we have problem is the Brighton vs Tottenham Hotspur. Both clubs keen on winning the game tonight, if we're placing our wagers, we just have to become very careful and smart when dealing with these matches.

Yeah some of the key players are out with injuries but I believe right now we have enough density in the squad to still be able to walk out a good strong lineup against Hammers today. In past 1-2 years, we have gathered some strong players inside the squad and right now we have enough players and options that even if we have some injuries we will still be able to stay competitive in the games unless series of injuries hits us. I am excited for this match as this one is not that easy and I want Arsenal to close this year as top of the table.
