1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1600Th]Ozcoin Pooled Mining |DGM 1%|Stratum+VarDiff port 80|NEW CN mining| on: August 26, 2014, 02:37:57 PM

I saw the pool go from 70TH to 1000TH in minutes so I assume this miner was what
made the pool jump so much, they were/are greater than 90% of the entire pool hash rate
at the time, if this is correct.

The odds of them finding 7 blocks in a row was not that unusual in this case

But the odds for them not to find one "random" bonus share in the seven blocks
is a one in ten million event being 90% of the pool.

So my question is how can you know how many shares they submitted
but not which shares they submitted

How many times did you have to pick a random share every round before
you found one, that you knew know who submitted it, why did it take 5
rounds to realize that there was an issue with this.

cheers

I look in database pick a share from the relevant round, look at used id  only UID in there no names, lookup user id to find name - announce the name, once per block
why did it take 5 rounds, probably because i was very tired and had some sleep, when i woke and recounted i updated the forum and site and paid the bonuses out.

G'day Graet,

Could you please clear this up

Do you know how many or what shares this new "Pentahash" miner was mining
over the last 7 blocks of your bonus?.

Because if you did, and your random share bonus was "random"

the odds of the outcome of the last 7 bonus blocks
was over thirty million to one

If you dont know what shares they mined how can you work out the payments

cheers

dont quite understand the question, yes we know how many shares were submitted,
the random share is separate to normal payouts and does not affect normal payouts, it is a share submitted during a round and the bonus is paid from my wallet (not pools) to miner of that share

Hi, I am glad that someone is there and responds to the block counts.

So I throw my question again on (still same problem):

Dear Ozco.iners,

Since tomorrow my miners (over 1ooo GH/s) are hashing with 2 GH/s. Is the pool temporarily dead? In the Shoutbox other users report similar problems.

I tried the different stratum-connections (EU, US, CN) unfortunately unsuccessful. I also tried to connect a rented rig of Betarigs, also unsuccessful.

I also deleted the "workers" and created new auto-workers, also unsuccessful.

Mike

Pool is alive
Best form of support is clicking "web irc " button, most hours of the day staff are around
what mining hardware, what vardiff is set?
manual workers are best, considering removing auto due to random not working well :/

Important: we have identified a bug in payouts that was introduced when we did database updates yesterday, currently recalculating - makeup payouts will be coming - this only affected blocks 317230 and 317147
Site out of maintanance mode
Please note
Scores will be inaccurate for a time due to database work, scores will recover, if block is found before scoring is back to normal Wayno will fix

There was an int() issue that made one large miners shares not appear in stats, we found and fixed the issue yesterday afternoon before BLOCK: 317122  was found.
The big miner in cn is not as stable as we/they would hope, their hashrate can be up and down as well as stale rates, being such a significant part of the pool they affect stats but not other miners.

8  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: I want a Gambling Pool on: July 17, 2014, 03:59:28 AM
Sorry crazyates, we haven't offered PoT for quite a while, being a PPS variant it got expensive and was an avenue for attack :/

I wish there were a pool which rewarded the block finder with 12.5 BTC (the remaining 12.5+fees would de divided between all miners, just as a normal pool).

The total network hash rate is 120.000 TH, so even with just 1TH you play a game with reasonable odds.  Within the next 10,000 blocks (~2 months) you have an 8% chance of winning.

This would also help the network. Individuals would play for the same reason they participate in state lotteries. They are likely to "over-invest" (which they btw do all ready) so that the expected return turns negative. Large investors with data centers would be forced out.
We could set this up fairly easily, though it couldn't be a charity (servers cost money, coders deserve to be rewarded for their work), so "rewarded the block finder with 12.5 BTC (the remaining 12.5+fees would de divided between all miners, just as a normal pool)" would become something like 12btc to block finder 12.5btc to miners 0.5btc to pool or 12.5btc to finder 12btc to miners 0.5btc pool.
Also after the solopool.net experiment (something that was asked for repeatedly in this forum but has never attracted miners >1TH and only found 1 block in 12 months) I would require the OP to find 1Petahash of miners that will commit to at least 1month of mining on this new pool otherwise it is pointless setting up whole new pool.

Hey Graet,
are the low balance payouts working? I have had a 0.0156 balance for over a year and it wont auto payout even though I set the threshold to 0.01BTC. It says my payout address is locked, but it's set to the correct address anyway.

yes, payouts are working fine,
PM me your username and we can check into it.
Fixed now

Ozcoin is pleased to announce the opening of cn.ozco.in a mining node on the Chinese mainland. Ports :3333 and :80 are available
This will help miners that have issues mining from behind the Chinese firewall Cheesy

Looking for the next Blockfinder and a random share to reward Smiley

Did you even google Ozcoin before choosing your name?

14  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Graet.Loan - Paying 0.05% interest daily on: December 30, 2013, 05:07:36 AM
Dear graet.loan holders,
Firstly I would like to apologise for my lack of communication - I have found this to be a very trying time.

Despite the ongoing FUD campaign I have not "run off", do not have health issues and have not "cashed out all the BTC", I am still working toward the goal of having most of graet.loan paid off by mid 2014 including any owed interest.

graet.loan was started to consolidate loans from community members after Ozcoin was hacked, give an easy management platform and provide some liquidity for my Bitcoin businesses. This was working well until changes at BitFunder were announced 2 hours after I left for a family holiday (my wifes first holiday in 5 years) by the time I got home 5 days later my portfolio had lost over 500BTC value and I had a list of redeem requests.

Current situation:
Ozcoin Bitcoin Pool has gone from over 10% of the network to under 0.05% over the last few months due to various and ongoing attacks that have disrupted operation and scared off miners - we need to build it back to at least 5% of the network.
Invested in a startup before Bitfunder issues, currently finishing legals moving to beta after New Year.
CrownCloud continues to bring a growing profit every month, planning to expand operations after New Year.
violence will not get coins,
litigation forcing me into bankruptcy will result in a minimal return for unsecured investors,
being patient and allowing me to continue and grow my Bitcoin businesses while still aiming to return the bulk of great.loan by mid 2014 will give investors the best return.

Best Wishes
Graet

Can a pool operator unlock my bitcoin address. I want to withdraw my fund. I have the same username on ozcoin.

You should really ask on IRC or email graet@ozco.in from the account you signed up with.
According to Graet's own words, the Bitcoin address lock "is a security feature to help protect your btc".
yes please use the email
from the email account you signed up with and include username
emails stand out more if subject "Unlock account" is used
Thanks

Are you able to provide any further information about your BTC assets/earning capacity which might encourage such angels?
In particular - to what extent is your ability to repay the loan affected by further rises in the BTC exchange rate?

yes, but it would be confidential.
my btc businesses earn in Bitcoin, exchange rate does not influence this

Still looking at options for management after BitFunder closes, self managed still looks best, paying to the addresses listed on BitFunder - though the ability to trade among investors would be restricted.
I have had a couple of other options suggested that I am looking into.

This is the list of redeem requests, I do not yet have investor information, most likely people with requests can see their amount for an idea of place in queue:
Position   BTC Requested   Cumulative total
1            12.87
2            133.57           146.44
3            40                 186.44
4            40                 226.44
5            58.70            285.14
6            20                 305.14
7            70                375.14
8            70                445.14
9            25                470.14
10        163.09         633.23
11        14.56           647.79

28         4              837.08

? represents a request made but no amount included
* will update running total when I have time

So almost 50% of graet.loan still in circulation has been requested to redeem, so unless an angel appears and takes over the redeem requests it will take some time to work through that list (though I will be doing my best) remembering the goal was to have most of the loan repaid by mid 2014.

Hope that answers some of the questions
Best wishes
Graeme

 Edited to update list

P.S. I am a customer of BitFunder not a staff member and am unable to help with BitFunder support requests.

For people who are interested in how the 100% fiat settlement is calculated, here's a worked example:

Deposit 10 BTC on Sep 29th, considered $1430 deposited
Withdraw 1 BTC on Oct 2nd, considered $127 withdrawn
Deposit 1 BTC on Oct 16th, considered $154 deposited

Added together: 1430-127+154=$1457

The $1457 figure would be your re-denominated balance if you choose to accept, which is ~100% of the fiat value. Payment would be made in BTC using the latest MtGox ask.

Update

The situation is I'm facing extreme difficulties in getting most borrowers to honor their obligations - the BTC rally doesn't help. To name a few that have been impossible to reach (when talking about their debt):

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=70557
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=17548
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=70541
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=35121

(Borrowers can deposit to CL via BTC address).

Many security issuers like CreativeX have gone missing, but thankfully in the past days Deprived and arij came back, and Crypto-Trade divs have been successfully paid on their own exchange. ASICMINER isn't doing well which is the collateral for many (defaulted) loans.

The reason why there's no email update is that I'm primarily waiting for other people that are not responsive, which results in having to pass on the non-responsiveness. All of CL's liquid coins were stored on Inputs and what's remaining are debts and assets that took a significant wipe (we still have borrowers that are communicative, thank you!, but the BTC rally is definitely hurting them and us, especially modification proposals).

I cannot find any communication from TradeFortress
I have not borrowed anything from coinlenders
TradeFortress or coinlenders may have purchased graet.loan on bitfunder - but I do not have a list of holders.
as explained in the graet.loan thread I was able to redeem graet.loan when only 1 ort 2 people at at time asked. Since the changes at BitFunder I have been flooded with requests and am unable to fulfill them all.

People that did due diligence know the aim of graet.loan was to be mainly repaid by mid 2014 - I am making arrangements to be able to continue with that goal in mind after bitfunder closes

Is this not your email? graet@ozco.in
it is, I have searched through twice and cannot find anything, Please resend
