1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange Now Open with USD, EUR, BTC, LTC, XRP, NMC on: January 14, 2014, 07:53:48 AM
I'm having problems withdrawing from Kraken.

My first withdrawal was very quick and in my account within 2 working days, this was excellent. However I have made subsequent withdrawals 12 days ago to the exact same bank account account (bank details stored on Kraken website so there are no errors in the details as Kraken have already successfully sent money to this account). I am still yet to receive any funds from these requested withdrawals despite their status as 'success' on Kraken.

Kraken in my experience is one of the best exchanges out there, but I would not want to think Kraken deliberately expedite users first withdrawal and then slow them down to MtGox style service.

Dargo, I have PM'd you.

All my withdrawals were quick, actually, I think the longest one was my 1st (1st took 3 business days, my last one was credited to my bank account the next business day, using SEPA). Anyways, delays might occur from the receiving bank as well, depending on the amount. Banks are sometimes very cautious when it comes to receiving repeated funds that are not exactly "salary" into personal accounts.

Dargo and support have been very helpful and it looks like this problem is on it's way to being resolved. It was a problem with me/my bank rather than Kraken systems. Fingers crossed

3  Other / Beginners & Help / What to do about MtGox on: December 31, 2013, 11:50:33 AM
I am verified on MtGox and have a few thousand Euros in my MG account (not BTC, fiat).

Do I risk a SEPA withdrawal? I've heard recently stories of people waiting 2 months with no word from MG as to the withdrawals status.
Or do I buy back BTC from MG, sell the MTC on Kraken and withdraw from Kraken? Taking a hundred EUR hit in the process

Any recent experiences?

Thanks.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / [pywallet] Wallet recovery...I've tried a lot of methods. on: November 30, 2013, 10:30:01 PM
Hello,

I reformatted my hard drive containing bitcoin-qt and my wallet. I did have a backup on my external hard drive which I deleted (but did not reformat the drive).
The drive which originally had bitcoin-qt and the wallet on it has been used extensively for a year since being reformatted and consequently has no trace of the wallet on it - I've tried PhotoRec, a bunch of MacOSX file recovery software and pywallet --recover to search for the keys. No results.

Moving on to the backup drive I have which once held the wallet.dat . To be specific, this drive was a MacOSX Timecapsule drive, I have deleted the Timecapsule folder but not reformatted the drive. I've run PhotoRec as per http://www.cyplo.net/2012/04/01/bitcoin-wallet-recovery-photorec/ . This has returned 249 .dat files , of varying sizes between 40GB and 8kb . I have run the recovered .dat files that are less than 1MB through pywallet.py --recover . Pywallet has been unable to get any keys out of them. Bitcoin-qt --salvage has also been unable to save the wallet.dat.

Is there anything else I can do? Or is the wallet truly lost?

Thanks
