1  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we must study Economics at University? on: September 22, 2018, 09:31:53 PM
The study of economics can also provide valuable knowledge for making decisions in everyday life. It offers a tool with which to approach questions about the desirability of a particular financial investment opportunity, whether or not to attend college or graduate school, the benefits and costs of alternative careers, and the likely impacts of public policies including universal health care and a higher minimum wage.

It is a truism that life would be meaningless, tedious and monotonous without every day’s troubles, worries, concerns, etc. being part of it. Quite the contrary, it is the latter that endow it with a sense and a value. Problems give it a meaning, and try imagining a life without problems. I do not think this sort of life will make man happy, either. Happiness is ephemeral. Despite this, all humans are running after it. Some find this transient happiness in children; some find it in fame; some find it in money; some find it in love; some others find it in poverty; some others find it in buying a new car or a villa; some find it in nothing. Yet, the happiness these people claim to find is ephemeral. It doesn’t last long no matter what or what the secret to it is.
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: one piece is the best anime ever...... on: June 04, 2018, 09:29:53 PM
One Piece is the best shounen anime of all time! It has such an epic and perfectly written story, powerful emotional scenes that make even a grown 30 year old man like me cry, and fights that are hilarious or incredibly epic. The characters are very charming and have unique traits, after a while you don't want to miss ANY of them. Oh, and One Piece has the best comedy by far. I always laugh, I always cry, I always get blown away by the action. I watch / read One Piece since over 10 years and it NEVER bored me even for a single moment. It really is that awesome and in my opinion millions of miles better than DBZ, Naruto and Bleach. Give it a try and don't judge it by the art style. For me it seemed weird as well at first but you will grow to love it. Today I can't imagine One Piece in any other style! Thank you Eiichiro Oda for this masterpiece!

Yes we are, however I also think that it in most cases is not intentional. We as humans tend to want to be told what to do and think, why? It's just easier. We like to make things easy and not think in most cases. The difference is really a state of mind. Switch of the TV, stop listening to the news, radio, social media feeds. Choose to learn and listen to what interests you instead. The amount of information forced into our consciousness is too much for us to handle. We have evolved to heed advice and information given to us in order to survive in our locality. We are now forced (ever more with media and social media) to worry about things we have no or little control over.
5  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is it possible to use bitcoin like offline currency? on: March 27, 2018, 06:24:01 AM
You have to consider they are not cheap usb storage sticks but actually more similiar to an offline computer. They also sell in a niche market and develop free software for it all the time with excellent support. The price is very fair in my opinion. TBH i would even pay considerably more for it.

The undeniable truth is that we continue to do great damage to the planet and we haven’t learnt how to grow our economy without harming nature. In the past 50 years, truly a blink of an eye compared to the more than 2 million years of our species’ history, we have seen an exponential acceleration of the unsustainable and wasteful use of natural resources.

Life balance has become a bit of a cliche. Balance implies a weak compromise where efforts are juggled. But the alternative to balance doesn’t need to be obsession. Having several areas of focus at a time will help smooth out the fluctuations in your experience. Pick 3-5 things that are critical for you and a dozen more you feel are important.

Do you wish you could strengthen your personality? Would you like to become more direct and decisive?[1] Many people want to develop strong personality traits like assertiveness, leadership, and resilience. These traits are desired because people that embody them are seen as adventurous, friendly, spontaneous, and usually hold leadership positions in which their opinions are respected. Learn to appreciate personality traits, and work to develop your strong traits.
