1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8 GPU motherboard : how to boot it ? on: August 25, 2018, 09:51:09 PM
Ok, thanks. I tried that already, but my power supply did a weird stuff. something like start/stop/start/stop in a second.
But maybe, i did not maintain a correct contact with the wire. I did not know that I have to keep the 2 pins together. I will try it again.

Does someone use this motherboard ? Is it the correct way to boot it ?
Doing my investigations, I read people use server power supplies, instead of classic PC power supply as I do.

And regarding the 6pins connectors all around the big card, should I plug them all ? (9 on the longest side, 8 on the small side)
Is a molex adapter (molex>6 pins) with only black (ground) and yellow (12v) wires (no red 5v) is ok ?
Same question with sata>6pins adapters ?

Thanks a lot
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 8 GPU motherboard : how to boot it ? on: August 25, 2018, 02:15:11 PM
Hello,

I need your help. I bought this 8 GPU motherboard :
https://www.ebay.fr/itm/8GPU-DDR3-SATA-Mining-Motherboard-8xPCI-E-Extender-Riser-Card-For-For-BTC-ETH/153069705789?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&autorefresh=true

I previously used a H81 pro btc, with a gold Enermax Power supply.

So :
I connected all 8pins in the smallest side of the big board

I connected the 6pins in front of the blue PCIe where the motherboard is plugged. I used the 8pins processor connector from the Enermax power supply for that.

I have to notice that the big 24pins ("MAIN" connector) from the power supply that goes usualy to the motherboard, can not be plugged in. So I don't understand how the motherboard could start when I power on the power supply...

Thanks for your help !

@Senseless

Do you have any idea about your potential improvements in Cryptonight or Lyra2z hashrate ? Is it more about x1,5 / x2, or do you expect something really bigger (x5 / x10 / ...) ? Just to have an idea.

Thanks !

Great Smiley Congrats for this first release !

As for now, I'm hesitating. It's not so gamechainger versus AMD gpus rigs.

14Khs on Monero / Electroneum is great, but 6xRX580 can do 20usd/day on scrypt or Lyra2z too.

So I ll follow your next improvements with attention.

Several questions :

1. Approximatly, how many time do we have before the effective sales ? some days ? week ? half a month ? more ?

2. DDR4 memory : if we already have a 8 or 16 Go DDR4 memory, can we use it instead of buying the global package ? If yes, no matter the DDR4 frequency ?

3. Is 1 FPGA enought ? Do we need several FPGA, depending on the algorithm used ?

Hello,
I'm really interested with your work on FPGA Mining.

Will 1 FPGA be enough?
Do we need several FPGA, depending on the algorithm used ?

Thanks

Good project that will help us all make money and should in the future bring such services to a new level to make them more profitable and convenient for people.

Let's see what will happen next, will the project justify itself in the future, but I think yes

Seriously... ?
Pages of bullshit paid/bots posts on this thread...

They just paid for some articles in some crypto blogs, and paid some fake posts on this thread.
In my opinion, there is nothing concrete, and I think nothing real.
Take care.

Bonjour Smiley

Un avis sur ce genre d'extendeur, après test ?
Merci

Ok, thanks for your feedbacks.

I have some Colorful RX580 GPU, only 1 month use, but it looks ok, very good hashrate after bios mode and OC (30.5 Mh/s).
I would have think their motherboard would be correct too, but ok.

Hello,

I'm looking for buying a new motherboard.

I saw these cheap options on aliexpress and Ebay :

- Colorful H81A BTC V20, 85usd on Aliexpress : https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/COLOR-Carte-M-re-H81A-BTC-V20-Mineur-ATX-Conseil-LGA1150-Socket-Processeur-H81-Carte-M/32849901817.html
This brand is on Gearbest too, they produce GPU (RX, GTX 1070/1080/ti)

- the cheapest 6 PCIe motherboard I found in Ebay, named "703371", 60usd on Ebay :
https://www.ebay.fr/itm/H81-BTC-6-GPU-Dual-Channel-SATA-1150-Mining-Motherboard-For-ETH-Bit-Coin-Miners/323008445839

Do you have some feedback about these cards, or aliexpress/ebay no-name cards in general ?

Maybe it's more dangerous than a classic ASRock h81 or Gigabyte ?

Thanks Smiley
