1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your ICOs to watch ? on: January 20, 2019, 07:50:44 PM
Why you need this all? every investor or bounty hunter should independently analyze projects and not rely on the opinion of some stranger

If that was truly the case, then no one would read or make crypto analysis/review.
I aim here to provide a place of discussion where we could exchange our opinions on the subject.

How many profitable ICO investments have you guys made for last 12 months? In my opinion participating in ICOs now is very similar with russian roulette with 5 bullets in. What is the point to invest in ICO during a bear cycle?

It's because we're in a bear that a nobody can't start his ICO like in 2017, now only some quality project will shine in the maze.
Even tho' 2018 raised more than twice what 2017 raised, the production of ICOs seems to have lessen. I want to see which ones will be the survivors at the end of the year.

I recently had the idea to regroup here each ICOs/Pre Sales with a project interesting enough to be listed here.
With each ICOs posted by everyone in this topic, I'll give you a quick analysis for each of them and those having the best potential will be published in this post.

The rules ares simple :

- The ICO needs to be accessible (a website at least, not just a whitepaper)
- I will update this list as soon as new ICOs are posted
- I will update this list everytime an ICO is finished
- Projects that have completed their ICOs before I heard about them are not included

I warn you, my opinion on your ICOs might be harsh, but I think it's necesseary to not mince his words on that kind of matter.

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peoples truly believe A LOT in Bitcoin on: December 30, 2018, 12:02:46 PM
People believe in Bitcoin because there is something in it that they saw and want to. For example, investors believe in Bitcoin and invest in it because they saw it's potential to grow in price while others who believe in its technology, invest in it to support it.

Then it can LITERALLY apply to anything...

Yes, just go build something that is a decentralized digital currency, with no 3rd party required to transfer payments between the owners of the new currency.

Then have people value it at $0 - $1 for a couple years.

Watch a couple years later when it bounces between $1-$10 in value around the world.

Then when it gets in the $10 - $100 range, you just have to get over that hump before your new "currency" appears to have some valid reason to actually exist.

And if you can get over the $100 - $1000 value area for this new digital currency that anyone in the world can own or use, you will have recreated what Bitcoin did. Congratulations.

Now you are more specific, then I'm ok with your explanation, but what you just said are just accomplishements, not a proof of its monopoly.
I could very well take for exemple a shitcoin in the market that mooned and said "you see, that's why it's the greatest coin in the market", what you said has basically little value.
If a global institution decided to create his own coin worldwide, how could BTC remain at the top for exemple ? I really want to hear an impartial opinion on that.

But why ? Because it's the first cryptocurrency created, and the most used in the market ? What makes you believe that Bitcoin will be the eternal king of the market, and something else won't replace it ?

I'm surprised everydays of peoples saying that "btc will be the king forever" without delivering a proper argument.
That's why I created this topic, not because I want to know "who will be the next king" or "BTC will be replaced soon", no, I want to hear a proper opinion on this matter, without some BS such as "it's the king, because it was the first". In that case, why would he's still be the "king" right now, and why would be he be in the future ?

I think it's impossible or very difficult for new crypto project to replace BTC, if compared to search engine like google - who can replace him?

But that's two very differents cases.

No one can change and replace bitcoin, because bitcoin is the future of cryptocurrency.
I totally agree with you. It seems to me that Bitcoin is the most important coin in the world of cryptocurrency. Everybody trusts this coin.

Right now yeah. But you just need a big institute who decide to create his own coin, and there you go.
Bitcoin is not as eternal as everyone think here, it's just thoughout the history of the crypto market, Bitcoin always had the upper hand. If another currency, created by an institution recognized by the world that shows better performances than Bitcoin, and behind it a goal for its making, then BTC will simply be replaced.

Everyone trusted the subprime market before, and then 2007/2008 happened.

A few big companies are already on it, and it would be naive to think that the big institutions are not already in there. It's still a bit too soon to know who will be the new king right now, it wouldn't be too surprinsing if BTC continue to be at the top (for differents reasons, but still quite similar), but I would be even less surprised if something else replaces it.
