Get ready for the January dip.

Kinda like the november pump that never came?

Statistically insignificant

I just think to myself: I'll either be out $XX,XXX spent out of pocket, which was disposable income that I would've just spent on nicer cars or something over the last several years anyway. Or, I'm going to retire 20+ years early and spend the rest of my life having fun and traveling.
It's an asymmetrical bet with enormous upside potential and acceptable downside risk.

Thats the healthy way to think about it. I just over committed and overestimated my ability to deal with volatility. It's my first boom and bust cycle. It's like a virginity. "second time should be allright"....right?

A bit on the melo-dramatic side surely.

Be more like this guy....

Yeah, thats the rational way to think about it. I've just had too many Karhu's. Beer and price chart combined tends to bring my emotional side. Which...I know doesnt do too good job at investing.

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did

Im starting to feel physical pain. Ill hodl until the end. Im not a captain but I shall go down with it.

Fuck the people who quit. This world wasnt build by quitters anyways.

Double bottom?

Or something like this?

If this isn't capitulation, I dont know what is.

This r0ach must be a sad man. He/she/it makes panic sellers look somewhat stable.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 23, 2018, 08:36:27 PM
Sometimes I feel that news dont affect price as much as we think. I even feel that price affects news.

and

Bear market = good news dont matter
Bull market = bad news dont matter

So this is my first boom-bust cycle that I've witnessed. I'm sure there are many folks like me who regret not selling earlier or having hard time to hold. I also have this weird urge to start trading "to gain more BTC".

I wanted to gain some perspective so I looked at the old post-bubble price-related posts/threads on this forum. It made me feel bad for people who panic sold at during that time. However these folks must have had the same thoughts running in their heads like I'm having right now.

After reading few stone-age posts, hodling becomes slightly less painful.

On a side note, new accounts on this forum weren't as....stupid back then and the quality of posts was....umm...different.

I’m starting to think this bullshit battle between BCHABC & BCHSV is all a big scheme for those in the know to get rich & crash the price of bitcoin so they can load up even more bitcoin’s.

It’s too much of a coincidence, all of this. It’s just so coordinated.

Yup. What a coincidence that CSW has a few Bitmex tabs open.

This market definitely makes me more humble each day.

Not quite sure if I should laugh or cry but I guess capitulation is supposed to feel/look like this. I mean...there is a reason why it's called "capitulation".

I refuse to think selling is a viable option now. That would be like running to the bathroom after you've shit the pants.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 19, 2018, 09:49:28 AM

This is really hard to watch.

And to be honest: Who would buy in a market like that.

We are constantly falling since January. You basically know, if you buy now, it will be worth less in one month.

That's why it's called "capitulation". Bigger the despair, bigger the probability that we hit the bottom.

Who the fuck is selling at these prices.

If I buy now, I'd like to know who is on the other side of my trade...

I've missed this. What's up with that BTC/KRW volume. What am I being fuckered with?

I can see it now. Somewhere in the desert is a gathering of bitcoin HODLers, their cars around a huge bonfire in a circle, like petals on a daisy.

Would they be VW Rabbits, or Lambos....

Hm.

(They should be Ferraris. Much more impressive car than the Lambo)

The problem when buying a ferrari is that the only color choice allowed is red.

And for the past 9 months....I've seen too much red....especially on my monitor.

Starting to look like a "nice" buying opportunity.

Se there are people who sell at 6k...I have a feeling that these are the guys who will be buying their bitcoins back for 50-100k.

See you on the other side.

Blockchain is a technology that needs to improve alot in order to be useful in this world, you know scaling etcetc. So needless to say that the developers are probably the most vital part of the project.

Here is a list of their lead developer's achievements.

I really can't figure out why would anybody buy this, but on the other hand there where people who where "buying the dip" when bcc plunged so nothing in this market surprises me anymore.
15  Economy / Economics / Re: Why anyone who invests 5,000$ now in bitcoin will be millionaire by 2025 on: April 10, 2018, 09:12:45 AM
"Why anyone who invests 5,000$ now in bitcoin will be millionaire by 2025"

5000usd to 1 million means 200x. That would mean a market cap of 22 trillion.

It's a possibility but saying it will happen is just foolish. Way too many assumptions.

Ripple had a crazy year so far as far as partnerships announced.

Which just shows how bad the market is at valuing anything related to new technologies.

As of this moment, according to coinmarketcap.com, bitcoin is valued at 6900$ (around 66% devaluation from the 20,000$ peak) and Ethereum 380$. Worst estimates place it around 6,000$ in the next days/weeks.

But as we all know, these estimates are just guesses and in reality no one has a clue. Obviously some estimates will be correct just by chance because there are so many of them.

The next thing we need to look out aswell is the altcoin market. The next Google may already have had their ICO and we don't have our buy in (I'm going to provide a list of projects that I believe will succeed) because, unfortunately, western companies have banned ICO advertisement (Google, Facebook and Twitter). But if there's a will, there's a way. I suggest using https://desearch.com or even https://duckduckgo.com - alternative search engines to Google - to help with the research (beware of scams, please).

Why is it important to move your money between the different tokens?

Some people have noticed that money usually flows from bitcoin and the main currencies to the altcoin market, after great bitcoin valorizations. This is where the opportunity for us, investors, presents itself to be capitalized on. A good hodler that buys in the cryptomarket now and takes advantage of these fluctuations should easily become very wealthy in the course of 7 years, admitting that the cryptomarket won't crash for some crazy reason (which should be very hard at this point).

Altcoins, tokens, ICO's protocols whatever we call them are very very risky. Sure they could make anyone rich but it isn't given. They are like startups. Knowing which ones will succeed and which won't is incredibly difficult. At least 9 out of 10 will eventually fail.

Twitter CEO said Bitcoin can be the future currency

And many have said that it can't.

With Bitcoin leading the pack (even though Ethereum is running to overtake it maybe this year)

Might as well flip a coin.

My List
NagaCoin ~ 0.49$
RequestNetwork ~ 0.16$
Polymath ~0.30$
Ardor ~ 0.22$
COSS Coin ~ 0.18$
Bancor ~ 2.17$
SingularityNet ~ 0.11$
SWFTC ~ 0.008$
Blackmoon ~ 0.55$
Sirin Labs ~ 0.23$
Hicky (ICO completed recently, still not listed)

NOTE I:I highlighted my favourite ones for either long term reasons or because pays dividends
NOTE II:I did not provide the necessary links for the content I reported here but for anyone interested, a quick search will answer all questions

Good luck out there  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Can you provide some reasons behind these choices?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IS THERE A CHANCE THAT MARKET PRICE WILL RECOVER?? on: April 06, 2018, 01:27:43 AM
Overall I'd say yes.

Some of the coins will recover and some wont, and that's good. There are coins/projects/protocols that are useful and then there are those which are and will remain completely useless.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: panic or to be calm on: April 06, 2018, 01:23:14 AM
"panic or to be calm"

Irrational or rational?

Needless to say which one wins when it comes to investing.

Panicking is as useless as being euphoric. It's difficult to see things clearly under those mindsets.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will you stay in crypto if BTC does not recover? on: April 06, 2018, 01:10:34 AM
Hi,

Just wondering if you guys will stay in crypto (aka hold or sell your BTC holdings) if the price does not recover.

Lets say we are still around 6k-7k by December 2018 => Will you wait it out or give up and say "OK, we had a nice ride but we are not going up again"?

What about if in 2019 price is still hovering around 6k-7k and there is no sign of recovery to 10k+ (or even a new ATH)

There are still so many unsolved problems around crypto. We need to solve these issues and give time for bitcoin and other blockchain related projects, protocols, platforms etc to develop so that we can actually do something with them and so that they actually give some value to the world. It won't happen overnight. Give it 5-10 years to develop and these things will either be worth zero or they are everywhere thus their valuations are way higher than we can even imagine. That's why my investment horizon is 5 years minimum. It depends on how fast the tech improves, visions are executed, mass adoption occurs etc
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 02, 2018, 09:44:54 PM
So one of those boom and bust cycles could be done. If that's the case then I think it's very possible that the accumulation phase is currently underway. If "the floor" is this 8k-11k range then I cant wait to see the next boom. I just have no idea when it will come and how high bitcoin will reach.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: February 21, 2018, 07:32:13 PM
I think the Berlin event was great. Much much better than the previous one in november. They promised that the re-launch would happen and it did.

Price dropped quite a alot, which leads me to think some people expected max to walk on water and some just simply took some profits. However we all remember what happend on November 20th. Price dropped but it recovered roughly 10 days from that.

They are pushing code alot, they rebranded it, they got few ICO:s coming up. I can't wait to see what future holds.
