1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: February 21, 2018, 01:24:53 AM
nuff GPUs... lets talk Asics.

My group has a sizable Scrypt and X11 ASICS farm hosted overseas.

With dwindling revenues in Scrypt and X11 algos, especially X11, we had to make a decision on what to do with the farm.

The farm is about 70% ROI, consisting of Innosilicon A4s, Bitmain L3+s and D3s.

Total hash power around 11 GHs Scrypt and 350 GHs X11.

Keep or sell off the farm?

Conclusion: Keep the farm alive for special project, as long as the power stays cheap (ie. cheap Canada hydro power)

Special project:

Acquire LTC, ETC, RDD, XVG and VTC for long term.

Using prohashing.com, a Scrypt and X11 multi-algo pool, we portioned a fixed % for these 5 coins (to be auto-exchanged)

There are a number of other coins that prohashing can auto-exchange to, depending on your preference.

Too bad prohashing.com only supports Scrypt and X11 mining.

For more algos & coin pools, MPH is a good choice but it allows only 1 coin type to auto exchange.

Well, if you change your mind let me know. I have a few rigs in Labrador and just sent 2 more A7 rigs there today ....and am looking for a couple Scrypt rigs. I wouldn't have any issue buying rigs hosted by either Cryptoboreas or Great North Data.

Hi guys,

Great thread and amazing knowledge.

So, I bought one of the ONDA B250 MoBos from Sidonia at Letine:

I recieved the board yesterday.

It's not working. I used the same steps I used with many other motherboards. (NOTE: Except for the RAM, the components listed  below work well on my Biostar B250 12 GPU motherboard.) Here are the steps:

1. I  installed the following components:

   PSU: CORSAIR HXi Series HX1200i
CPU: Intel Core I3-7100 Kaby Lake Dual-Core Processor Socket LGA 1151, 3.9GHz
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200 Model F4-2400C16S-4GRS)
GPU: 1 x EVGA 1060 SC
SDD: 120 Gb SDD with Windows 10

2. I attached the GPU to my monitor with an HDMI cable.

3. I booted the system. Nothing happened. The monitor was completely black. I mean there was no BIOS screen or anything to see.

4. I tried it with SMOS (Simple Mining Operating System). Again,  It did not post.

5. I replaced the CPU with a G4400. It didn't solve the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this?
How did you resolve it?

Thx,

Howard

Did you try the motherboard HDMI output? It might need this first boot then you can access bios to configure the gpu as primary video.

So, I went to my nearest computer store and bought various RAM used by others through out this thread. The first one I tested solved the problem. It is:

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Laptop Memory Model F4-2133C15S-8GRS

Also the motherboard I have is a different version:

ONDA B250 D8P-D4

It's been running for 2 hours now. I'm using 8 x EVGA 1060 SCC GPUs. They're too long for the first slot. So I have that one on a riser.

The rig is in my basement. So no extra cooling has been added and temps are ranging from 55 - 70. The one on n the riser is running at 50 C.

All in all, seems like a decent board.

Thanks for the fast reply. Yes, I tried that too as that worked for me when my BIOSTAR was giving me a hard time. I still get nothing.

I also cleared the CMOS to re-set the BIOS to default as that had worked on various other boards for me.

Maybe I need 8 gigs of RAM?
