2  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New to Bitcoin need rig for college (don't pay electricity fee) on: August 06, 2014, 05:21:07 PM
Thanks for the reply's everyone!

Plans actually changed, i'm now living in a apartment (on campus) with a shared living room/bathroom and 3 separate bedrooms inside the apartment. (I'm just wondering if considering it's not actually a "dorm", if the ampage in the living space will be larger?. Hmm

I'm capping my limit on a ASIC to $2.5K. I'm just curious on how I could be careful with my power output. I've been looking on Ebay and I came across some 1.5TH/S KNC Jupiters///Avalons///S1 Antminer farms for sale. Just curious on people thoughts about buying on ebay, let along these rigs.

Now i'll keep more up to date considering it's my last week to decide on what to do@!

All input appreciated!

If you buy BTC now with the $2.5K you'll get 4.32BTC.  If you purchased a fleet of S3s and psus you might have about 4.6-5BTC after all the costs.  Buying the above noted eBay equipment will give you more hash but will cost you terribly with electricity costs and the resulting heat from the inefficient old beasts.

If you have the tolerance to mine go with S3s, otherwise spend 1-2 days circling an exchange like a hawk and buy BTC on a dip and then enjoy school and not have to worry about heat and noise.

Is this site legit? I will be ordering this week if it is!

Yes, it is! You can buy from it. Buy carefully as there is cloud mining option. Smiley
Kindly,
    MZ

Is it true that If I don't want the cloud mining option you have to wait 30 days to receive your equipment? I sent out a email but they haven't responded!

You might as well just grow some bud in your dorm room. It will generate a lot of heat and use a lot of electricity too. But it will be much more quiet. Plus, you'll be very popular!   Cool

mmmm how about no.

Im supposed to buy a 2.4 TH/s miner, and for some reason he told me about 229gb for some reason i still cant figure out why hesaid that.

Why not ask clarifications directly from the seller?

Also what 2.4TH/s miner are you about to buy?

2 dragon terahashers. Also you think i should invest in these for the next 8 months to help with my college payments? Do you think it's worth the risk i'm already $10k in the hole, let me know on what you think.

BAD buy if you're paying for electricity. Dragons/A1 chips are old tech. It's a suckers bet to buy anything above 1GHs per watt in this day and age. Don't bother with anything other than Bitmain S3s if you want delivery in days... or Spondoolies SP30s if you can wait a month.

I'm calling college on tuesday to ask about electricity, if it's 100% included should I buy the dragons? If It's only paid to a certain limit i'll buy some S3s?

Sounds good?>

From jun 15 to aug 1 I used 229 GB.

What does this mean when referring to a mining rig?
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 02, 2014, 09:22:32 PM

How does this look? $1200 for 3 pieces which mmines 440gh/s which means 1.3th/s.

Sounds right? Is this a good idea for a beginner miner?
15  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Beginner miner, College, build vs buy? on: August 02, 2014, 07:48:48 PM
hey forum!

I'm heading to college within the next month and was hoping to work. The college is located in a very small town where it's literally impossible to find work for weekends/afterschool. I've been keeping up to date with the bitcoin scene and I was thinking about building/buying a rig. Because electricity is included in the dorms I'm able to buy a rig with a high power input. I have around $1000 (+-$500) to either build a rig or buy one on craigslist/ebay. Does anybody have a setup in the budget that would make it worth mining for the next 8 months.

I have two weeks to figure this stuff out before I move, as for now i'm still searching on youtube for videos on self built rigs for $1k-$1.5k.

usually close by my computer for a reply, thanks in advance!
16  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / New to Bitcoin need rig for college (don't pay electricity fee) on: July 19, 2014, 07:40:00 AM
Hey forum!

I'm heading off to school soon and I have no use for my desktop computer anymore, I'm wanting to sell it in the near future and invest in a nice yielding mining rig/setup (disregarding the electricity bill). If the #'s are right i'm willing to spend a couple K on a rig.

If anyone know where I should start please let me know!
17  Other / Off-topic / How much have you raked in with BTC? How about everyday? *Fun Thread* on: December 12, 2013, 06:47:54 AM

I'm leaving to South America this Friday and I've already left home, I don't have much $ on me atm... I'm stuck in a weird situation, I can either purchase like $500 worth atm OR be back in 10 days (pray day and night the price stays as is or Dip a bit more) and invest a larger amount. Ahhhhh
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 17 & Bitcoin Interested on: December 11, 2013, 05:52:48 PM
I've actually been also looking into that^ (sent you a PM), trying to think of services/technologies but no luck yet (brainstorming hasn't paid off yet).

If anyone has heard of services that are coming around or anything that is eventually going to show up let me know!
20  Local / Tablica ogłoszeń / Polish Translations if you want :D on: December 11, 2013, 05:32:41 PM
Since I'm new to the forum and I will most likely be here for a while I would be able to translate things for people if they'd like!

Sites like Google Translate will get about 3/5 of most sentences correct depending on what you want translated and if it's in a slang terms (The sentences will come out completely gibberish). I can translate and go into depth on what the actual meanings are!

Reply to the thread or contact me Via PM!!

Awesome!
Matt
