1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XMR-stak-JK 2.4.4 Compiled with no devfee on: August 16, 2018, 03:54:18 AM
I read some of the xmr stak topic and I saw that they got 800-1000h in their 570 4gb and 8gb cards, I wonder why I only got 600h plus,  I am new to cryptonight algo, since I started mining, I only mined eth and other eth base algo.. can somebody here share some advice below is my settings in amd.txt Is there any way to increase my hashrate.. Thanks in advance to those who are willing to help..  Wink  Wink

I'm surprised that no one else answered your question. If you search online you'll find answers. Try running 2 GPU threads per card, example for GPU 0 and 1 (repeat for all of your cards):

JaredKaragen, great work. Should I assume that you abandoned 2.4.5 or there isn't progress?

yeah.  for now, ive been focused on work... and every attempt so far at compiling 2.4.5 so far has failed.

I want to wipe the laptop Ive been using to compile, and try reinstalling everything fresh again and see where I can get.

I already have the doctored source to compile that removes all the devfee addresses and sets the devfee factor to zero.  I think the only thing I need to change is the build pull number (there's a giithub reference variable its compiled with that's linked to version,  I haven't changed that yet, but it really doesn't matter int he grand scope of things).

I did compile XTL stak at the same time I did 2.4.4... but it seems to not be a version people are after and Ill be ignoring it from now on.

You seem close and thank you for that. I think it's a refreshment to this thread as there wasn't any posts since June 26th or so.

Anyone using ASUS Radeon RX 580 8GB Dual-fan OC Edition GDDR5?
I got a pretty good deal for this model but the thing is, I found different opinions someone says it is decent, someone says it has a bad cooling.
Any first hand experiences here? Someone mining with such? What are the temperature, clocks, and what algo are you mining whit it? Do you also have any other model to compare the Asus with it?
Thanks!

I have one with Hynix memory. It doesn't have bad cooling but it doesn't have adequate heat sink. Heat sink doesn't touch the memory chips at all. I added thermal pad but card itself is the hottest on my rig no matter what algo I mine. I get about 31.5 Mh/s on ethash with custom straps at core clock 1170 and mem clock 2190 without memory errors from HWinfo. I want to try mining Gin/lyra2z but so far there's no amd miner for windows.

Also, it runs at 55-65C degrees in 85-95 Fahrenheit hot days. Fan speed around 70-75%

Quick comparison to my other cards:
MSI rx580 Armor - similar in temperature as Armor also has smaller heatsink
MSI rx580 gaming X - runs about 5 to 10C cooler depending on algo
Powercolor rx580 red devil - runs approximately the same T
Asus ROG strix rx580 - runs 10C or more cooler but it has 3 fans, huge heatsink

I know this is not the right thread but trying to help fellow miner
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: July 05, 2018, 01:53:15 AM

Businesses that assure consumer security also stand to make A LOT OF MONEY.  Of course, Acorn, Mineority, etc could include aspects of secure payment options such as PayPal to capitalize as Dwarf Miner did and then did not as an obvious bait/switch.  But I'm not just talking about secure payment options.

They already tried.

It was actually GPUHoarder in the interview but otherwise I completely agree with you. Seth Estrada's interview style and 85% waste of time on nothing drives me insane. It was such a waste of GPUHoarder's time!
Also, it is time to show some results. We have to plan what to do! I am going back and force between FPGA, Acorns and just getting a couple of more ASIC miners and forgetting GPU mining for good. Decision time for me is the next couple of days. Instead of all those discussions and interviews, we should get some real information!

I don't understand why you people can't wait. You'd rather that they'd just make up numbers and tell you what you want to hear, instead of getting everything squared away, and presenting you with accurate numbers/benchmarks. I actually appreciate a company that doesn't rush out data/info without verifying the accuracy. Nobody has to accommodate your schedule. Nobody has paid any money for these accelerator's. Having no patience is the reason there is so many scams on this forum.

but he did rush to start the thread and has missed his dates.

I never said anything negative about him everything was true.

he said  mid june for preorder >>>>>>>>>>> missed this date
he said late june for shipping >>>>>>>>>>>> missed this date
he mentioned showing proof with a video >>>> backed off this statement

he has done none of the above.

let us pretend he is fully 100% honest and will deliver every day of delay HERE  means we get closer to gear like this

So I was looking forward to this working right now as I type instead it has been hype.

Phil, nice videos on the Ethereal capital Blackbox early model. Since they supplied you with a testing ring you seem to trust them.

Now, I just checked their latest 16x FPGA unit and they will include Acorn 215+ in their August batch.

https://blackbox.cat/collections/frontpage/products/blackbox-x16-bcu1525-fpga-system-with-16x-xilinx-bcu1525-fgpas-august-batch

Is Acorn still hype or Ethereal capital is riding the hype? Or they know more than you do?

I'm keeping an eye on this project, it seems interesting.

Can I get a response because these parameters in the combo line in the .bat file will not work -cclock -cvddc -mclock -mvdd , And how to solve it
I try the phoenix miner v2.9e upgrade to 3.0C
I have Amd xfx rx580 8gb gts xxx 8xcard in Rig

The params won't work in v2.9 or 3.0?
Mine work fine, here's my .bat file

Code:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
PhoenixMiner.exe -pool ssl://us1-etc.ethermine.org:5555 -pool2 ssl://eu1-etc.ethermine.org:5555 -wal mywallet.W -amd -coin etc -coin2 auto -stales 1 -mi 14 -log 1 -cclock 1170 -cvddc 900 -mclock 2175,2195,2185,2160,2150,2145,2130,2165 -mvddc 950

When users blame PM 3.0c being unstable, I believe it's their settings eg overclocking too much, not enough swap file, maxed out psu power, not having proper ventilation or using older driver version could be the issue.

Of course PM is not 100% perfect but if a lot of users doesn't have problems, please relook at your software and hardware setup.

For a while I cursed at PM becoz 3 gpus had errors only to discover that increasing my swap file solved it. Another problem 4 gpus having lower hashrate due to thermal throttling. Replacing stock cooler with aftermarket one max out hashrate.

Now running 9 GPU @280mhs, 7 RX580, 2 GTX 1070 in one rig.

Believe me, I understand where you coming from. Most users want "set it and forget it" software, but it's not that easy in this business. Besides, asking questions is easy than troubleshooting.

People who discovered PM recently don't want to go through 100+ pages of reading.

I was lucky to find PM in early January and been using/following since. I don't post much but also don't have any questions. Devs seem super responsive as well.

Can anyone explain the time value circled:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4nnsa2aii9bvb41/mine.jpg?dl=0

The time value below it is the uptime for the miner, but I do not understand what the time value for the pool represents.

When pool disconnects, miner begins new timer. That's your new time count since that or other event occurred. Current total time still ticking. At least, that's how I understand it.

Isn't it?  Cheesy

My recommendation to that user would be, do your editing and gaming and then dedicate the card just for mining.

Hi, can you update with an argument to make the fee act every 12 or 24hours?
You can enable the dev fee as soon as the miner starts for the equivalent time and then the miner run the specified hours without have to change DAG..
If you make it as argument, people can use it if want or not Smiley

It has been discussed in previous posts and the answer is no

Code:
1. run miner
2. wait 11h59m
3. kill miner
4. repeat

Doesn't sound smart now, eh?

why there is no BCT link on callisto.network site?
Yeah, agree. The website of Callisto project should announce officially on link to bitcointalk ANN topic for Callisto community and to avoid  FUDs in the future.

The link is from their https://twitter.com/CallistoSupport account

Very possible.
I can lower the stale shares some by reducing the intensity.
I can get it around 2 to 5% if I give up hash rate.
But that negates the extra speed that Phoenix gives me.
My issue is if I get the higher hashes that Phoenix offers the stale shares goes up.

I had about 4 to 8% on Claymore before the 11.4 release.
They claimed they fixed the stale share issue. And man did they. I immediately went
to < 1% without doing any adjusting.

So, I know it can be done.
I want the increased speed that Phoenix offers and the very low stale shares.
If I get the same hash rate on Phoenix and Claymore but Claymore stale rate is <1 % and Phoenix
is 2 to 5% I'm better off going to Claymore. I had rather use Phoenix if they can address this issue.

Interesting. I've been using Phoenix for more than a month now and I get 1-2% stales on miner and 4-5% at ethermine no matter of low or high intensity or -gt.
I've tried 2.6, 2.7a and 2.7c.

I tried Claymore 11.0 with the same % stales at pool. I don't like how I get disconnected from pool when devfee stops, Claymore that is. Haven't tried any other version yet.

My rig gets ~186 Mhs with phoenix and ~182 with Claymore.

It's worth mentioning that 3 of my RX580 have custom vBIOS for mining ETH, the rest are stock.

So, I don't know if it's my setup, two miners or the pool. Average accepted share to pool is 65 ms, which is not that bad.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's NeoScrypt AMD GPU Miner (Windows) on: March 16, 2018, 07:30:28 PM
Guys, I have been trying to find a way to increase my hashing rate on my rx580 SE's, but it seems I cannot squeeze more than 0.864-0.865mh/s Huh Can anyone tell me if I should search for a different BIOS mode with different timings for this scrypt? I have bios modded my cards so that they would mine ETH with 31.5-32mh/s, but obviously that's not really helpful for this Neoscrypt algo. Also, if I try to increase the core clock speed to over 1250 the rig crashes and I start seeing screen disruptions and the miner freezes lul.

I'm also mining ETC/ETH with moded vBIOS and works great. What I found is, going back to stock vBIOS works best with neoscrypt and then overclock/undervolt as much as your cards allow without crashing.
If that doesn't work for you, then the guys at anorak might be able to help you.

Hello, have an issue. When i press start, it appears then disappears (nothing happen). see picture.. tested with 6x rx570 8G nitro+

You most likely missing the pause command in the end of the batchfile Smiley
Just write pause in the last line of your batch.

it ok when i tested with another rig, but 1 rig 6x rx570 8G nitro get issue. Plz help me ...

It looks like you're mining ETC, if that's the case, remove  -proto 3 and -cdm 2 and try again. Let us know
