just so everyone's aware seller wont accept escrow and wants buyer to send first.

Correction, escrow is accepted for US buyers.

But not for international? I fail to see the logic in this.

I've mailed out many packages internationally. There have been times where Customs opened up packages and didn't properly put everything back, and there have been times where the shipments weren't treated very well in other countries and arrived in poor condition.

A lot of international buyers want you to put a very low insurance value or just "$0"/"Gift"/"Returns" on it so they don't have to pay Customs fees and taxes.

Now, if you mail something brand new that works perfectly, but arrives at the buyer's location opened and damaged, then they get to keep their money cause the escrow provider will side with them. Now you're stuck with potentially broken goods that have no value and you can't collect money on them cause the insurance value was set very low or no value so the buyer wouldn't have to worry about Customs fees and taxes.

In the US, you can put a proper insurance value on your shipments, cause the US buyer doesn't have to worry about customs.

I was going to build a Litecoin miner but was offered a spot for a heavy duty Bitcoin miner. This is what I have for sale:

2 - Corsair RM Series 750 Watt ATX/EPS 80PLUS Gold-Certified Power Supply *NEW* | 0.089 BTC each

6 - Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB DDR5 DVI-I/DVI-D/HDMI/DP with Boost PCI-Express Graphics Card *NEW* | 0.267 BTC each

2 - Corsair Vengeance Blue 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory *NEW* | 0.041 BTC each

1 - MSI Z77A-GD65 Z77 DDR3 1600 LGA 1155 Motherboard *NEW* | 0.115 BTC

PM me what you want. I'll only reply to serious buyers. Shipping depends on what you want and where you live (shipped from the US).
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Security Discussion on: December 05, 2013, 07:08:50 AM
I don't think it's too complicated if you put your heart into it, but neither is rooting your phone using ADB. It's just not for the average person I don't think. I can see people using Bitcoin-Qt or Electrum on their normal computer, and likely this is how 95% of the average bitcoin user will use their coins... either in a hot wallet or a local wallet, but never truly shielded like everyone keeps recommending.

The average person doesn't have a significant amount of Bitcoins to worry about. It's like leaving small bills around the house. If you have a lot of money, then you'll be it in a more secure place.

Just to clarify - I personally don't hide my BTC from her, if anything I wish she would be into Bitcoin too!

I'm just curious if anyone's partner has suddenly "woken up" to the value of Bitcoin and demanding you cash out immediately, perhaps after listening to the MSM and thinking it's some kind of bubble or ponzi scheme...  Angry

The media is hyping up Bitcoins. Some people in the media are hyping it up so much that they think it'll go to $1,000,000. Show her that news Grin

Granted, I'm new, but I think I've worked out a strategy.  I ran the math, and the erupters will pay for themselves in about a year - I know this.  I'm re-investing the BTC into GHS at cex.io and back into themselves.  I realize that there's a lot of people ahead of me right now, but that's how it is when you jump in like this.

I've also yet to find an exchange that I'm willing to trust enough to actually buy bitcoins.

Work your butt off for a month or two and then buy some real mining equipment.

If you are concerned about this, then consider paper wallets or creating an offline wallet using a liveCD.

Just getting started out, and I'm starting to build up my collection of USB hubs.  I'm finding though that many multi-port hubs don't have a big enough power supply to supply a full bank of Block Erupters.  Any recommendations, or should I just start hacking off cables and sticking them into into a bench supply?

Sorry Raptor2213, but if you're using Block Erupters to mine for Bitcoins, then you'll be waiting a long time to see a return on your money. You're mining basically the same gold mine that the big guys and girls are mining. You have a little hand sifter while they have heavy duty machinery. It would be better for you to invest your money into buying actual Bitcoins instead of Block Erupters.
