1  Economy / Economics / Re: Bringing BTC to the mainstream on: July 06, 2011, 09:44:08 AM
it wont gain traction until you can buy food and rent with it, and that wont happen until people start offering it

once people see that happening they will start using it themselves
2  Economy / Economics / Re: Bringing BTC to the mainstream on: July 06, 2011, 05:07:09 AM
ok then i agree that people should spend their coins on things they need or want but i would not suggest spending all of them.
they also need to sell products and services as well as buy, the hording is fine, Im no expert but I see the value continuing to drop until theres an economy and thats dependent on people using bitcoins rather then collecting them, not to say that thats not happening yet, but the best investment a horder can make is to spend some, in my ill informed opinion
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Bringing BTC to the mainstream on: July 06, 2011, 04:57:39 AM
I dont mean people should sell, I mean they should spend, bitcoins value is as an exchange medium and its a very good one I think, if its not used for that its got no value
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why use Bitcoin? on: July 06, 2011, 03:33:48 AM
the only reason I can see is that its cheaper and quicker for many transactions, and thats a pretty good reason
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Bringing BTC to the mainstream on: July 06, 2011, 03:28:28 AM
its a matter of involving people by spreading the economy, not spreading the idea, until present users stop hording and start spending bitcoin its just going to stagnate and eventually collapse, the public want something usable, not a pyramid scheme
6  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US "Recovery" on: July 02, 2011, 03:06:29 PM

8  Economy / Economics / Re: My personal idea of what will make bitcoin grow very fast. on: June 27, 2011, 09:39:22 AM

9  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Nuclear Energy. Do you want more or less? on: June 22, 2011, 08:22:37 PM
If the costs were internalized instead of being offloaded on taxpayers, then yes.  Let those who want/afford the true cost of nuclear energy pay for it, let the rest of us invest in energy technologies that do not threaten our species/planet
this is the solution and why very few are being built now, reality happened
10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to run an Anarchy on: June 22, 2011, 08:20:04 PM

My apologies if this sounds a little ignorant, but isn't the core foundation of anarchy that this question is never addressed ?
think you hit the nail on the head, wonder if it hits back
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Human greed and bitcoins on: June 22, 2011, 08:14:47 PM
actually I do see this as a weakness of the current currency systems which btc doesnt seem to have overcome, maybe it cant be overcome, its not envy, its just that if someone has a large proportion of a currency they have the power to manipulate it, crash exchanges etc

14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: U.S. government is going after Bitcoin on: June 15, 2011, 08:41:38 PM
it would be economic isolation in the long run, the US cant afford to do it
What rassah meant was that though the US can't bring down the network, as no one government can.  But by preventing every american site based on or accepting bitcoins from using them then the bitcoins essential value will plummet.
