Alt coins are cheap right now after the January downturn, but many are turning around and regaining what was lost.  Still some volatility but well worth it as far as profitability goes.

Ripple had a nice little run today, which is really good if you're day trading the swings.  $500 would have netted about $35 profit.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not invest in bitcoin if you don't know anything about it on: February 13, 2018, 09:43:27 PM

Bitcoin is a global craze. Even farmers, students, the older, housewives ... who are don’t know what is blockchain also buy bitcoin. Because there are so many new investors investing in it in the hope of making a big profit. But actually that is not investing that is gambling.  Roll Eyes
I do not prevent you investing to make money but invest wisely. Especially do not put all the property into bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Hope people do not blindly participate in this gamble. Grin

I'd only call it gambling if you were looking to day trade it without knowing how.

But for long term investment and return, it certainly is a good avenue for those looking to increase their net worth.

 Cool

Everyone always says prove to me they exist, and my reply is always prove to me they don't!

All ancient civilizations have plenty of references to "gods that ascended from the heavens" in some form or fashion, and yes it's even written in biblical texts.

However, like everything else in life, you believe what they want you to believe based on what you are taught while growing up.

So do I believe in aliens...absolutely!

Definitely Zombie Ass, Toilet of the Dead....

I think the one question you need to answer for yourself is "what is my goal for investing, and is it long term or short term"?  Once you have established this then seek out where to invest.

Having a game plan and some knowledge is critical prior to jumping in too deep.

It's also a math game....

Put that $500 in Bitcoin today at $8200 and you'll need it to reach $16400 to double your money.

Put that $500 in an altcoin at $.04 and you'll only need it to reach $.08 to double your money.  Many altcoins swing daily like this, but profitability is there IF you have the right strategy.

I started with $800 a month ago.  It's been one hell of a wild roller coaster ride so far...

Honestly I started just a month ago.

I watched my initial investment triple in days.  Then sadly I watched it crash because I didn't know better.

I've now dug my heels into learning how to day trade and hodl for long term.

Tons of great info out there, and tons more that will confuse you even more.

I've learned a ton since finding @CryptoChoe and @PhilakoneCrypto on Twitter.  Very insightful info given freely over the course of the day (I swear these two never sleep!)  @PhilakoneCrypto even has a bunch of training guides on his SteemIt account.

Aside from that, day trading is about small gains over and over again.  Sometimes they'll be huge bursts, and sometimes not so huge.

Also, beware of pump and dumps and learn how to recognize them so you don't get stuck holding the bags!

Hey I'm new here and fairly new to crypto. I have been following the forum for a while but now I've decided to register.

I'm slowly building my knowledge everyday, though much to get my head around.

Any tips or advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Follow these two guys on Twitter...you'll learn so much for free.

Lots of "shitcoins" out there.  Should be interesting to follow your project.

Thanks for sharing!

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The END is NEAR! on: February 07, 2018, 02:11:43 AM
Could that happen, sure.

Will it happen this year, probably not.

While that would be nice, there is still plenty of time to get in on the ground floor.  It's said less than 1% of the world's population had a clue about cryptocurrency.  I think we are in great shape.
