1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3+ OVERCLOCKED !!! HOT !!! full review with LOTs of pics on: April 29, 2018, 07:46:53 AM
Good Morning,

actually my new L3+ (with N-Boards) are running with 425 MHz (that´s around 555 MHs).
They are doing well and HW-Error rate is very low.

I heard from other Miners that they can handle 450 MHz also.
But in my humble Opinion it´s a Lottery with the new Boards.

Anyone here with December and January Batch ?

It would be interesting to know when Bitmain changed the Boards.

I have had mine at 412Mhz for 3 hours and am getting around 540Mhs, so far I have 4 HW errors on one of the boards and 0 on the others. Temps are 44 PCB and 51 Chip, Fan 1  3,630 Fan 2  3,540 . What is an acceptable amount of HW errors to be getting?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3+ OVERCLOCKED !!! HOT !!! full review with LOTs of pics on: April 29, 2018, 04:52:04 AM
Be aware there a two different Hashboards actually.

https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002072833-L3-Different-Version-Comparison

Hashboard L3+ (S) is the old PCB and could handle Overclocking up to 600 MHs
Hashboard L3+ (N) is the new PCB and is very poor in Terms of Overclocking (around 540 Mhs only)

So be aware when overclocking newer L3+ they have changed the Boards somewhere in early 2018.

Hi Sakl,
I do have L3+ miners delivered in Feb 18 and was about to play with one when I stumbled on this post.

Miners are in a hosting centre so will have to wait for me to check which version hasboards they have but has anyone tried to overclock the Hashboard L3+ (N) and if so what speeds was achieved?

Hi there if you are using the new PCB i wont use more than 412M.
Thats around 540 MHash.

Thank you for the info about the board types, I have the newer (worse) type in my L3+.

Would this mean that using the OC of 412M is "pushing" the OC to the limit for this board type and therefore may/will compromise the chips etc in the long term?

Anyone have experience OCing the newer board type and had it running for the past few months?

Re: lowering the clocks, although this will lower the power consumption it still won't address the issue that at the same clocks it is consuming more power than usual ie lower clocks will be consuming same power as the higher clocks were.

The other issue is that the original GPU 0 will only work in the 16x PCI-e slot if connected to any of the PCI-e 1x slots it fails to get picked up.

I was wondering if the clock and settings have not changed from when you altered them - these are stored in the registry and may not have changed
Why don't you reset all the settings to the bios settings
To do this you could open radeon settings and in global settings 'reset' each card and try

GPU not getting picked up- Try (1) install another gpu on 16x -gpu0 not connected - restart (2) switch computer off- install gpu0 on 1x - start computer
if above does not help- reinstall driver

When I check the clocks via HWinfo/GPU-z etc it shows the clocks/voltages being what I have set them to in Claymore 900/950 1150/2200. I lowered the clocks to test if they were stuck and the clocks showed up at what I had changed them to 1100/2150. If the clocks were stuck in the registry would GPU-z etc show the stuck clocks or the clocks I had entered into the config file?

I used DDU to remove the driver, reinstalled blockchain driver. Flashed bios back to stock and the power consumption is still a lot higher than it should be. I tried flashing with a Sapphire RX 580 8gb Hynix memory 'tried and tested' bios from Anorak.tech and same result.
Way higher power consumption than usual at same clocks/voltages.

Tried powering rig down, unplugging GPU 0, plugging one of the other GPU's into the 16x slot, booting through to Windows, powering down, connecting 'GPU 0' to any of the other PCI-e slots and booting up. MB and Windows don't 'see the card.

Thanks once again for helping me with this issue, it's frustrating the heck out of me.

As a side note, the rig is running smoothly atm with GPU 0 in the PCI-e slot and claymore runs on sake clocks and voltage as it originally did with same Mh/s but still with way higher than usual power consumption.

Think I may reflash to stock bios, reinstall Windows and see if starting from 'fresh makes any difference.

Yesterday I tried to undervolt my rig and now I am having some major issues, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Code:
Rig is 6x RX 580s (all with mixed Hynix and Samsung memory) on Asus Mining Expert board running blockchain driver with Polaris one click bios.

The usual OC and voltage setting I use in the config file for Claymore's miner are

-cclock 1150
-cvddc 900
-mvddc 950
-mclock 2200

My usual power usage at the wall (when dual mining ETH and XVG) is 1070W, HWinfo usually shows gpu chip power of  97w per card.

The settings I tried were

-cclock 1150
-cvddc 875
-mvddc 925
-mclock 2150

After starting Claymore v 11.4 I went back into the config file and edited the settings back to my usual oc/voltages so that if it crashed it would apply them on reboot.

After about an hour the rig crashed (CCL error gpu 5)it rebooted and it restarted claymore with my usual settings. I noticed that the power usage at the wall had jumped up to around 1285w and HWinfo was showing gpu power usage of around 120w per card. HWinfo and GPU-z were showing that my GPU's were running at the usual clocks/voltages 1150/2200 900/950 so I stopped Claymore and manually restarted my rig.

When it restarted the MB done the initial single beep before posting then tripple beeped and wouldn't post. I powered off the rig, 'flicked the PSU switches off and let it still for a few mins. Powered the rig back up again and same result (single beep, tripple beep not posting).
I powered off the rig unplugged GPU 0 and GPU 1 at the MB, swapped them over (gpu 0 to pcie 1x slot gpu 1 to pcie 16x slot) and the rig posted then booted to Windows went into device manager and it was only picking up 5 of the 6 GPU's (not the GPU that was previously GPU 0).

I shut down the rig, unplugged the GPU at the riser and PSU and rebooted (posted and booted to Windows with no issues), I started Claymore (started mining fine) and when I checked HWinfo/GPU-z same result previous clock/voltage settings with higher gpu power usage (120w per card) than usual.

I stopped Claymore, shut down the rig, unplugged the rig at the wall, put GPU's in there original positions, moved the bios switch on the GPU that wasn't being picked up to 'silent mode' and booted the rig up.

It posted and booted into Windows but was running really odd, mouse movements, opening windows etc were slow and sluggish. I then moved the bios switch back to original position then used ATIflash via cmd to 're flash all cards back to original bios, uninstalled driver via DDU and rebooted the rig. Reinstalled blockchain driver, rebooted and mouse movements, opening windows etc were still slow and sluggish.

Used ATIflash via cmd and flashed all GPU'S with bios I had them running on previously (one click Polaris Bios Editor). Applied atikmdag-patcher and rebooted, things were still running slow and sluggish, ran claymore and it started mining with all 6 GPU'S at original config setting, getting the same Mh/s but all the GPU's are still using more power than they usually would (120w per GPU and whole rig 1285w at wall).

Apologies for how long this is but I wanted to give a good idea on what is happening, what I have tried already etc.

Thoughts? Anyone had a similar issue that the have managed to resolve? Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me.

Ps

How do I put this into one of the 'box thing's' so it doesn't take up so much room on the page?

Thanks cryptoillusion1
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.2 (Windows/Linux) on: March 02, 2018, 11:50:27 PM
Due to critical bug with rejected shares I uploaded v11.2 again, please re-download it.

If you are not sure if you updated properly, start miner and find "b517" in the log, at the beginning, this is correct build number.

Thanks for the updated V.

Although I have only been running it for a short period of time I am seeing a lot smaller fluctuations in Mh/s whilst dual mining ETH/XVG.
  I am also seeing a 1-1.5% increase in Mh/s across 6 RX 580s. 😁

Hi,

I am using your pool to mine Verge with -dpsw c=xvg in my command line but am noticing that infocoin and Nevacoin are in my last 50 Earnings. Any idea why?

It is an overflow setting. When the VERGE network is getting slow and there is no work for your miner, the server can do two things. One is to disconnect you, second is to give you another task so your power is not wasted.
We choose the second, since disconnecting gives other problems ( Some Rigs start to reboot then and become unstable ).
They will be converted without any extra fees. As we don't like to do maintenance on live systems, we'll first test it tomorrow before enabling it to avoid problems.

Viewing post history of somebody before asking question may reveal answer to yours Smiley

Or be lazy and wait for someone to reveal the answer. Thanks

May i ask why you guys don't mine Shield? ( https://www.shieldx.sh ) This coin has almost the same value as Verge but finding a block is much more easy as the difficulty is lower.
Would you consider lowering the fee to attract more miners?

Our fee is at 0% at the moment untill April 1st. .... Can't go much lower ??  Wink

As example to mine SHIELD:
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethpool.org:4444 -ewal <Your_ETH_WALLETADDRESS>.<YourWorkerName> -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://mine.nlpool.nl:5766 -dwal <YOURSHIELDWALLETADDRESS> -dpsw c=xsh

As example to mine VERGE:
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethpool.org:4444 -ewal <Your_ETH_WALLETADDRESS>.<YourWorkerName> -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://mine.nlpool.nl:5766 -dwal <YOURVERGEWALLETADDRESS> -dpsw c=xvg

I realise the whole 'luck' factor side of things but for a rig with 6 RX 580's @ 186 mh/s mining ETH on nanopool and 9300 mh/s mining on antminepool what would be an acceptable average shares per hour to be seeing within claymore v11?

I'm running 3 x RX580's, ETH on Nanopool at about 90.5 Mh/s (don't look at average over 6 hours I have been playing with my settings and rig was down for few minutes here and there), feel free to browse my shares per hour, range from 44 to 72:

https://eth.nanopool.org/account/0x38f9bb4df872ca8b2d5bfb398060d0c8fd85f005

Anyway, will give you an idea what 3 can do, not perfect but stable, no memory errors, no restarts

I get pretty much double, good to have some stats to go by. Thanks for your help.

I hit 'ignore', figure if they are that way inclined the chances of them ever posting something useful is slim to none.

P.S

My 10th post so maybe you'll read this hehe
Cheers for that 'ignore', never noticed it so far.

Think you mistook my meaning, I hit ignore when people post walls of pointless text ie quoting the whole readme or a huge amount of their log file.

im getting 5k ms on nlpool.nl from the Philippines.

is there any sol/remedy about it?

Similar thing was happening to me earlier, nlpool isn't working very well atm.

tell me when yours run fine already. thanks.

Works fine then goes back to 'share accepted (4983 ms)' every so often, the annoying thing is that because it is finding jobs/shares and the Mh/s rate doesn't drop it stays connected to nlpool. I have also noticed that it dramatically decreases my ETH shares when it is in that state.

nlpool is the pool I have had the most success with so far pay out wise.

Guys!  Please think about what you are posting: we don't need to see the entire "README!!.txt" file or half of your logfile posted here - and if we do need your logfile to figure something out for you - we'll ask.  Jeezus, people!

I run a web-based forums site myself, so I know that it's tempting and easy to just not consider everybody else, but it's truly a waste of time for people like Claymore who read (or at least try) through this whole thing three of four times a day!

Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox, now...

I never read such long quoted posts. Also skipping posts from people with <10 posts. Hope to find some kind of an addon which will filter these for me Smiley

There are many variables Whattomine does not account for, I can not understand how people don't comprehend this.
It blows me away that people are astounded/annoyed when the whattomine projected payout differs from their real world payout.

Anyone else get a lot less ETH shares when connected to Uni pool as opposed to Ant pool? I do realise the whole 'luck' factor side of things but I feel like a need to hang a horse shoe on my rig when connected to Uniminepool.

unimining added a new dedicated stratum to use for xvg— stratum+tcp://xvg.eu1.unimining.net:5770

This was posted on their forum.

Thanks, will try it out

Hello when trying to join the group Antminepool does not make me connection

B2S: Authorization failed: (NULL)
Socket was closed remotely (by pool)
B2S: Job timeout, disconnect, retry in 20 sec...

This only happens if in wallet I put a XVG address that I have of Bittrex but if I take an address XVG of other users who have published here works perfect.

Is there a problem with that address of Bittrex?

Another problem I have is in zpool since yesterday I am extracting XVG with the same wallet of Bittrex D6mz8XLApBjeHEdrNXoFh8vZ5bjbxrbBmM and I have a pending payment that has not been reflected in Bittrex what I call the attention is that in Zpool shows me the Mon Eda Unobtanium and the wallet you have assigned is from XVG and the payment I have pending sample Total Paid * * * 0.02558559 UNO Will it be that the payment does not come because it is in a different currency?

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool us1.ethermine.org:4444 -eworker ortadan.ASRock -ewal 0x3ecd934271818d98b95f9591fd7ea1d8163c2fa7 -epsw x -estale 0 -di 0 -tstop 80 -tt -55 -cclock 1100 -mclock 1950 -powlim 50 -cvddc 850 -mvddc 850 -dpool stratum+tcp://blake2s.mine.zpool.ca:5766 -dwal D6mz8XLApBjeHEdrNXoFh8vZ5bjbxrbBmM -dpsw c=XVG -dcoin blake2s -dcri 50 -allpools 1

i think antminepool is having issues right now in general w all the new hash coming online

Both Uni and Ant seem to be having issues, understandable considering they have had thousands more miners connecting over the past couple of days.
With Uni I get rejected shares and with Ant I cannot currently connect.

I'm getting like 10% rejected shares for XVG while dual mining. All shares for ETH are okay.
what could be the cause? any1 experienced this?

I'm having similar issues as well what are you cards/clocks?

RX 580 8gb Sapphire Nitro+ Hynix memory
Core 1200/900
Mem 2250/950

The same is happening to me, got zero for the first 12hrs and now I am getting around 10%.
What pool are you using for XVG?

Also interested in the answer as I see there is 3 to choose from for Blake2s according to the following website:

https://vergecurrency.com/pools/

Spoiler, the pools are:

I'm mining on unimining. You guys?

Another thing is that there's a big difference between reported hashrate and efficient hashrate on ethermine.. Like 30 MH/sec.. I've got rx580 strix cards. Anyone else had this?

Rx 580s and Unimining also, seems to be getting worse. Not having any issues with nanopool ETH
