2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Multi Computer Mining on: April 18, 2014, 12:23:29 AM
My apartment building has a computer room of 6 desktops and a Laptop. Since these are free to use I wondered if I could mine some small altcoins at night for some spare btc. But I am new to mining(the specifics), I don't know the brand of the computers or their specs but they are around 3 years old. Ive been watching and trading bitcoin for almost a year now so why not utilize idle computing power? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Offically Announced] U.S. Set To Sell All Silkroad's Bitcoins on: January 17, 2014, 09:21:40 PM
I call major bullshit here.  25M is not all the coins.  Nor do I see how they can sell assets before any court case has even started.

This reeks of short selling hype.

theres two wallets owned by dpr one with 144,000 coins and another with 29,000 I guess theyre starting with the smaller one. Just google "silkroad seized coins" and you find them on the blockchain.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: sell wall on Bitstamp on: January 13, 2014, 10:57:49 PM
I don't know about testing all time highs but it'd be nice to see it above 900.

10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Ready to uptrend! on: January 08, 2014, 04:27:42 AM

In your opinion do you believe there is enough buyers to push price above $1000 on Bitstamp again or will the wall hold? Explain your thoughts.

16  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Chicago Bitcoin Bar Meetup on: January 06, 2014, 09:37:12 PM
If the roads are tolerable by tomorrow I'll love to be a part of this meet up, not only to pick the brains of other bitcoiners but to promote businesses accepting bitcoin as payment. I'm opening a restaurant and bar in the next coming months and it will be the first bitcoin accepted business in my county(lasalle county).

18  Economy / Service Discussion / Easiest Bitcoin Buy Ever! on: January 04, 2014, 10:06:46 PM
I have to give props to "dcotese'' on LocalBitcoins. I'm in the united states and this was my first major purchase and he made the whole experience very pleasant. I contacted him the night before I proposed the trade and he answered all of my questions quickly and clearly. After making the cash deposit at his bank I received my bitcoins within minutes, which I was surprised by the speed it rivaled that of Bitinstant(when it was operating). It went so well I did another transaction the next day and since I gave him a choice of two of the banks he offered I received a 1% discount! Overall it was a great experience and I encourage anyone in the US who wishes to purchase bitcoins to use his services.
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where is a good place to buy some bitcoins quickly? on: January 04, 2014, 01:52:51 AM
LocalBitcoins I would say is the fastest if your in the U.S. I bought today from dscotese and I had my bitcoin within minutes. He had great communication and I even received a 1% discount for offering a choice of two his banks to deposit to. Hopefully this help you in some way.
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has anyone sent an international wire to BTC-E/BitStamp via US credit union? on: January 03, 2014, 02:22:41 AM
I tried wire transferring 10k from my credit union to Bitstamp and it was denied by the credit union in Europe because it was deemed "too risky". My bank didn't even contact me to tell me it didn't go through. I closed my account with them and now use a more bitcoin tolerable bank. That was my experience hope it helps.
