1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.2 (Windows/Linux) on: March 06, 2018, 08:23:56 PM
Firstly, thank you all for your help so far (messages and so on)

My rig - now 4 weeks old, ALL new kit.

Tried 11.2 today and apart from virus guards kicking off all over the place (until I disabled them all) failed to work.

I have now kind of got the rig working thanks to some help, however...

Starts at 64 Mh/s then reduces down and down...

ETH: GPU0 21.917 Mh/s, GPU1 10.142 Mh/s, GPU2 10.124 Mh/s, GPU3 21.923 Mh/s

ETH: GPU0 0.000 Mh/s, GPU1 10.132 Mh/s, GPU2 10.176 Mh/s, GPU3 21.906 Mh/s

Followed shortly by:

WATCHDOG: GPU 0 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
WATCHDOG: GPU 0 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
Quit, please wait...
Restarting OK, exit...

Then rig comes to a complete stand still...Wont go further.

Virtual memory 16gb, virus guard disabled...

Please any thoughts - this is killing me now...

Rig

Celeron - K170 board - 4gb ram - Msata HDD - 2 x rx570 4gb - 2 x RX550 4gb - Thermaltake 850psu...Windows 10 64bit.

yup... i posted the exact same issue a few days back but never saw a reply with fix suggested. Here's the thing... this is happening on all 4 of my 6x470 rigs... and really only since that last major W10 update.  So, I am saying it is NOT a hardware issue because what are the odds that on 4 rigs, there is an actual problem with GPU0 on all 4?  It never happens on any other GPU, so this means it is a software/settings issue, but I have not been able to figure it out.  On Claymore Cryptonite miner, the solution to fix a lagging GPU0 was to manually designate the "-h" value in the .bat file, but no such option existing in this miner, at least not -h but maybe something else can be tweaked only on GPU0 to fix this... that has been what i've tried to discover for the past weeks but no solution yet. I actually had to disable GPU0 on 1 of my rigs that it got so bad, and looks like another 1 is headed that direction as well.

The one difference with mine is that they don't actually crash/freeze, but they get stuck in a non-stop look of resarting the miner due to that hanging GPU0 issue. So it restarts every couple minutes, usually with GPU0 at zero speed.

Claymore... or anyone else that knows of this issue... please advise. Thanks!

Windows 10 Pro - 8GB RAM - 16-32GB virtual memory - Claymore dual miner versions 10.2/10.5/10.6

Do you have a dummy plug or a monitor connected to GPU0 ? I have noticed this behavior when you remote and don't have a monitor/dummy plug connected

Nope - I have now stripped rig back to 2 x RX570;s nothing plugged in - no windows update - it ran perfect on 10.6 - jumped 11 and 11.1 now tried 11.2 - blat..

Tried re-installing drivers and all sorts.

GPU0 was doing 0 MHS so I now have taken GPU 1 which was running around 21-22.

So now feck all is happening in GPU0 regardless of whichever card you try.

Sooo..Installed 11.2 on my Win10 64bit rig and disabled defender anti virus - worked ok for a little bit then after a few minutes of running my two 570's cards reduce in hash - 24 down to 10..to 7..and eventually 0, the two 550 remained aroun 9-11...

Im running two RX570 and two RX550 (all 4gb).

So.. Stopped the rig completely.

Put back decided to go back to the 10.6 that I found stable...

It wont go past:

AMD Cards available: 4
GPU #0: Ellesmere (Radeon RX 570 Series), 4096 MB available, 32 compute units (pci bus 1:0:0)
GPU #0 recognized as Radeon RX 470/570
GPU #1: Baffin (Radeon RX 550 Series), 4096 MB available, 10 compute units (pci bus 6:0:0)
GPU #1 recognized as Radeon RX 460/560
GPU #2: Baffin (Radeon RX 550 Series), 4096 MB available, 10 compute units (pci bus 7:0:0)
GPU #2 recognized as Radeon RX 460/560
GPU #3: Ellesmere (Radeon RX 570 Series), 4096 MB available, 32 compute units (pci bus 8:0:0)
GPU #3 recognized as Radeon RX 470/570
POOL/SOLO version

None of the cards are clocked everything is standard from the box.

Anyone any ideas ?

I tried to download 11 - 11.1 and 11.2 again from Google - but Google wont allow it (?) says virus found used Mega instead.

Checked the logfile? This happened to me once I was oc and undervolt to much.

Many thanks for your help.

Bog standard no over clocking no bios mod - straight from box.

I'm wondering if it maybe the power supply - although everything is new.

Tried unplugging all but 1 gpu and it takes 70+ seconds just to get script to start to work.

Hi again.

Firstly thank you to everyone for helping me get off the ground with my rig.

I now have 4 cards:

2 x 570 4gb and 2 x 550 4gb.

Running the 2 x 570s I get around 20(ish) on each card. So I sold a few things and got a 550 4gb - plugged that in on a riser and restarted Claymore..Found 3 x gpus..Great.

The 2 x 570's now run at a reduced 15mhs and the single 550 4gb runs at 8mhs. Which is not as good as the 2 x 570's..

Stranger still is if I add another 550 4gb it will only ever see 3 cards ? I have interchanged the risers and cables and they all check out.

Has anyone got any ideas about the reduced speed and 4 th card ?

Many thanks for any help.

Ken

Forgot to say Windows 10 - 64bit Gigabyte z170 board

Hello mate,
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the AMD drivers when you change the number of cards on your board.  That fixed it for me.
Everytime you boot up, check device manager to ensure the system can see the cards.  If the cards do not appear in device manager then I suspect a riser issue.

Youll need to mod the bios and overclock to get 30MH/s on the rx 570s

Look up polaris one click bios editor

DUDE !!!

Thank you so much.

Uninstalled and reinstalled Crimson driver - device manager instantly sees 4 cards.

I know I can clock the bios and stuff, but Im new and this cost me a lot of money (I know its not alot to others) so for the time being I'll keep it all stock.

Also - the cards now run;

570 - 22.933
570 - 22.445
550 - 10.174
550 - 10.183

Loving this.

Thank you again

Ken

Firstly a big thankyou to Claymore - although I have a small rig of two cards its making a little money that helps me monthly (ok its only $50, but thats $50 I wouldnt have) I'm not a rich person and I am thankful.

I watch this thread and try to keep up to date with great interest and I downloaded Claymore v.11 last night.

The moment I opened the zip my Virus guard went off the rails.

Now at first I thought yup its quarantined the miner64.exe - but it hadnt, it showed a file Win32/ScarletFlash.A.

This is the first virus its found from any of the Claymores files.

Anyone know about this?
