I think it's very likely. If there is no catastrophic failure of some kind. As more businesses accept it then the demand will increase. My guess is

$1500 by jan 1rst
$2000 by feb 1rst
$10,000 by end of 2014.

Some are saying summer for 10k. But I like to be a little reserved. Those $5k to $3k slides will be interesting.

I think that $30,000k within 3 years from now is possible. But I think that after 6-12 months Bitcoin will have competetion for sure to eat
at it's market share. I think it may stay at $10k and slow down. Bitcoin transaction times are a bit slow. And security and other factors are average.

i doubt it's all about lowering the value of dollars?

look at the current bitcoin market i doubt the percentage of bitcoin exchange are for physical goods/services, without a asset base all coins are just bytes and bits.
currency are trusts, the trust so that when i have a dollar i believe i can get what i want valued a dollar. the trust so that when i have a dollar i believe it will always be at least a dollar
but current bitcoins... well if one day eBay accept bitcoins it may go 10k, or after a ultra-inflation when you paid 100 to buy a coke yes bitcoin may go 10k, but in near future, i don't see much hope.
For me, as a businessmen, i don't want a sudden high rise in exchange rate (better not) but a stable and usable currency.

well, i have a business (not a successful one) and i do think if i can use bitcoin as a payment, so i have to think deep and know deep, i don't think there are money haters out here and i'm just looking for good examples about bitcoin usage.

but the exchange rate fluctuates a lot and the difficulty to buy some wouldn't it unsafe to make it as an investment (or saving u say)? or even use it to buy things (looking at the market place the price are still in Sep rate) (3,4 coins? crazily high nowadays, i wouldnt pre-order things with coin value changes like that)
at least in here no one accept bitcoin for service/goods, and we don't know if bitcoin will be banned (i know this is extreme case but China already banning right?)

i know i am a newbie, so i don't understand the economy about mining, a lot of miners working to get coins, but again, where the coins comes from? what is the value behind?

Simply speaking, what do you use bitcoin for?

To be honest I am attracted to bitcoin due to its raise of exchange rate in these months, but besides the exchange rate what else can I expected from bitcoin? Increasing real life usage? Easier fiat currency exchange? Stable exhange rate? Or what is the asset or value behind the bitcoins? Or is this just a bubble where everyone carries a virtual gold with no physical backup?
