1  Local / 대체코인 Alt Coins (한국어) / [BOUNTY] [IEO] SesameOpen Translation Opportunity on: June 11, 2019, 07:03:54 PM
Trying to get in on the ground floor of an IEO? We're looking for Korean speakers who can help us translate our content as we head into our IEO in Korea -- articles, marketing materials, videos, etc?

SesameOpen is a blockchain protocol powering Commerce 3.0 -- the next era of decentralized commerce defined by a community-oriented, owned, and operated commerce cryptonetwork. We're a talented, fast-moving organization committed to the Korean market and we're looking for similar individuals to help us achieve success.

Learn more about the project at www.sesameopen.network or on Telegram at https://t.me/SesameOpen_EN.

Interested? Reach out to me (@SesameB) on Telegram or here via Bitcointalk messaging.

Thanks!
Brandon
2  Economy / Currency exchange / Would you use a decentralized over-the-counter exchange? on: April 05, 2018, 09:46:15 PM
Hi all,

I've noticed a lot of folks who are holding crypto with no liquidity because it hasn't been listed on an exchange or who are trying to get the best price. I've also encountered a lot of folks who are trying to buy crypto either because they missed the boat on an altcoin they wanted or because they don't have access to exchanges. This got me thinking about whether a decentralized OTC exchange would be worthwhile, what it would look like, etc?

What do you think? If you're in that boat, would you use an exchange like that? Have you seen something like it already? What are your expectations?

Fair disclosure: I'm working with a crypto startup that could enable this, but we're debating the merits and needs for the crypto community.

What say you?

What about decentralized OTC exchanges? I feel like many folks have altcoins or want altcoins that can't be easily traded yet, but I haven't seen many OTC exchanges that enable this kind of trading? Any thoughts on OTC exchanges that folks have used?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Where are the decentralized OTC exchanges? on: March 28, 2018, 07:24:56 PM
It seems to me that lots of folks (like myself) hold different alt-coins, not all of which are listed on exchanges, or at least easily accessible exchanges. Where are the OTC options for buying and selling these tokens? It seems like market-making capabilities and liquidity are tough, so are folks just hodling or are there OTC exchanges out there?

Hello!

Product discovery in ecommerce is broken. There are too many products and it’s nearly impossible as a vendor to get your product onto the first page of results. At SesameOpen, we’re trying to solve that by creating a new commerce channel built on a decentralized network of storefronts.

Since our goal is to help forgotten products find their forever homes, we’re running a contest to bring more attention to this beauty from Page 13 of Amazon results for “crypto”:

https://www.amazon.com/Unisex-Christmas-Bitcoin-Sleeve-T-Shirt/dp/B078521NHL/ref=sr_1_199?ie=UTF8&qid=1521584962&sr=8-199&keywords=crypto&th=1&psc=1

How to Win:

  • Join the SesameOpen Telegram group between today and end of Sun, Mar 25 (US Pacific time) (https://t.me/SesameOpen)
  • For every 300 new people who join during that time, we will randomly select one and send them the shirt, announcing the winners in the group
  • Only one entry per user
  • No spamming, cross-linking, or other violations of group rules
  • Open to all countries (we’ll find a way to get it to you)

Questions? Post them here or in the group and we’ll do our best to answer.

Let’s show a little love to those forgotten products languishing in Amazon search results limbo!

Thanks!
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ETH Blockchain Has More Queries Per Day Than GOOGLE???? on: March 09, 2018, 12:53:01 AM
We recently heard some surprising data about the number of queries that Infura (large ETH blockchain supernode) handles, and it got us thinking about why there are so many more queries than transactions on the blockchain. Are DApps just inefficiently coded? Is there something about the blockchain itself? And what impact does so many queries have on the scalability and decentralized nature of the blockchain?

Our thoughts are here: https://medium.com/sesameopen/11000-1-ethereum-query-to-transaction-ratio-whats-going-on-fb12382fd0c6

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Retail apocalypse and how the ETH blockchain and token economics can help on: March 02, 2018, 01:04:03 AM
Despite frequent predictions otherwise, physical retail doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon as ecommerce only represents about 10% of total retail sales. That being said, there are real challenges faced by physical retail and ecommerce that the ETH blockchain and token economics seem well-suited to fix. I'm working with a blockchain-based startup in this space and have shared some thoughts and stats in this Medium post.

Would love to hear your thoughts.
