1  Economy / Securities / Help - Selling Shares to New Corp, Trying to launch a new idea. on: February 09, 2014, 09:53:56 PM
So I have made a few posts not getting the results I want so far. So here is where I am at.

I believe this is a good idea, but it will have to stand on its own merits.

I'm not sure how to get this out there.

I believe part of the problem is this community does not trust me or maybe I'm not communicating what I see.

I need feed back even negative.

I don't have a ton invested. However I can get access to quite a bit of funding. I threw about $1.5k into the seed funding the pool and hosting. But I don't know if it would take off even if I put 10-100 times that.

I have a chicken egg problem. With out good sites. Why would anyone participate. With out anyone participating why would any good sites join. <-- This I have no idea how to solve.

The whole idea is to do a Wikipedia style fund drive for a network of sites.

I am willing to sell shares and or give them away open to any and all negotiations. I just want to see this idea get a chance.

Should this be listed on an exchange and how and where do you do that?

2  Economy / Economics / Re: Random Walks and Logarithmic Growth (Fake Out). on: February 09, 2014, 02:35:31 PM
I think what is being missed here is how you use this type of analysis. Most people are familiar with averages. In some way so much so that they forget what it is. It is a simple prediction metric, and always the best guess over any know data set.

If you take some points on a graph the average is the horizontal line that would be closest to all the other points. This is a valid prediction as it is a minimization of error. It is the absolute best number you can come up with if you constrain your analysis to a horizontal line.

Linear regression allows us to slant that line to allow for growth or decay in the average if we are prediction prices etc.

Log Regression gives us a curvature  of that line to reflect accumulation of compound growth.

This type of analysis since it is hard to over fit due to simplicity and is basically the limit of prediction.

There is absolutely nothing that will out perform this type of model.

4.13.2014
There is no 13th month in 2014.

All kidding aside, if you want to be understood either use 2014-4-13 or 13 Apr 2014, both of which conform to international standards.  Everything else is a local dialect.

Wow, that chart's "prediction" really sucks.  According to that chart you should never ever buy bitcoin, because it just goes up too fast.  In fact, everyone should just sell it all now.  Did Barry Silbert give you that chart?

I guess thats one way to look at it. Its all about time scale. This is about a much longer term though process. In the states that date format is pretty common. As far as the prediction goes its doing pretty well. As the price has been converging towards the regression line.

Hyper Card and Basic in 98  Huh Huh Huh
are you sure you got the decade right?

What school did you goto? Ours kept old crappy computers forever. I graduated in 99 so it had to be like 10th grade. so yea 96-97.

In 2014 Apple proves me right once again. Bans every thing Bitcoin.

Well that's not strictly true. There's a lot of Bitcoin related apps, but they seem to have got rid of everything to do with sending and receiving coins. I won't be going back to Apple after my battered iPhone 3 dies though that's for sure.

So what your saying is we need to get Google to Add this feature to the Gmail app(if there is one). I bet they wont pick a fight with them.

I'm not saying that. Why is google the only option?

Im being a smart ass. But any app that has a large enough user base might cause them to re think this bs.

Ok so I removed the java. I guess that was a security concern for some.

Worst case if you add this to your site you get some bitcoins.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt Coin CRC32/MD5/RSA on: February 08, 2014, 08:54:28 AM
Ok so you guys are saying. Technically an AltCoin based off of RSA and MD4 would be secure.

I also thought that RSA is weaker than ECDSA and why it was not selected for Bitcoin.

I did not understand CRC32 was any different from SHA. I figured they are both checksums.

The problem with log scales is you can have a big drop but the fundamental floor is still ratcheting up.

The regression based on the last two years shows the mid point is $500. The absolute floor looks like $350. But by 4.13.2014 the mid point will be $850 looks like its going to fake you out cause the water is rising. Its hard to know if Bitcoin will truly be a viral technology. But this is one way to explain what you see. In the short run bitcoin is over valued. But with log growth it does not take to long for the situation to reverse.

Don't confuse this with a 50 day MACD either this is 2 years of data the predictive power of a long term regression has built almost every major investment firm you can think of.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Alt Coin CRC32/MD5/RSA on: February 08, 2014, 08:21:57 AM
How hard would it be to create an alt coin using obsolete proof of work (CRC32) and RSA for signatures. I think this would be an interesting project considering that the design of bit coin would still hold up even in a ridiculous context. It would also be interesting to have a block chain where some one could brute force your private keys in a few days. Self refund if you will, The chaos would be pretty fun.

In 1986 my father got our family a Commador 64C. (Had a Apple II at school.... hated it cause no Defender of the Crown.)
In 1996 I got my own IBM compatible. (AMD 3DNow woot woot)
In 1998 Again school forces me to learn hyper card. Worthless compared to vb.
In 2001 I had to work on a G4 as part of my job...... Where the fuck is the right click I said. This one alone confirmed i would never own one. This also makes me wonder why all graphic designers wear cat eye glasses.
In 2003 I refused to by an ipod cause still where is the right click.
In 2005 When the iphone came out I kept my blackberry.
In 2007 I picked an android.
In 2010 I got a Motorola Zoom for a tablet. Cause still on my fuck apple war path.
In 2012 My wife got an iphone against my recommendation. In a week she sold it and was back to a droid.
In 2014 Apple proves me right once again. Bans every thing Bitcoin.

I have taken allot of shit over the years for not hopping on the apple cart. O and by the way FileMaker is not a database either fuck that program too.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 79% Of Consumers Would Never Consider Using Alternative Currency Like Bitcoin on: February 07, 2014, 03:06:55 AM
This is why 80% of the wealth is held by 20% of the people. Smiley
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Automated Micro Transaction Network - Non Paywall on: February 07, 2014, 02:59:34 AM
Well reddit down voted my idea to oblivion so I figured I would try here.

I need sites to add the tracker so we can get this up and running.

Suggestions welcome.
