Mark my words, we will see btc to under $100 by friday... MT GOX will announce they are halting trading indefinitely. Be prepared to buy low if you can!
Tomorrow is Friday...... So even if it happened in 50 years on a friday, you'd still deem BitcoinSteve a prophet? Because he just said friday, right? He obviously meant the next friday after his post. He was wrong. Even if he meant today, he's still wrong, as you can't buy actual bitcoins on mtgox right now. Hurr durr.

Of course it's going to continue its 1000% raise every year. Can't you look at graphs? It's basically a fact! $1M by the end of 2016!!11 Whoo!
These threads and the mass hysteria/panic ones when there's a 10% dip in value are quite hilarious to read, thanks.

Just remember to not run that on the same computer. The point of 2fa is that the OTPs come from another source, so if your main computer is hacked all is not lost.

What am I missing. Checked out 19 faucets all using CoinBox for payout. They average 0.000000279 BTC per 30 minutes (couple an hour I believe). Even if I were to have enough time to fill out the captcha every 30 minutes for an entire week (336 times per week), that would net me 0.001781 BTC per week, at $866.33 per BTC (current price as shown http://www.coindesk.com/price/) that means my 336 captcha submissions are getting me roughly $1.54 per week. Obviously as the price (hopefully) increases, it nets me more, but hard to get it to make sense at current prices, unless I'm missing something. What good is it if one only gets very very small amounts?https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=74046.msg1088930#msg1088930he is saying about 0.001781 btc per week and not adding fees for this mean if we just do work on these we have nothing so just do for fun and nothing more I think you missed the point of what I said... The *main* point of this list is to get newbies started with using the Bitcoin system... But I wouldn't say ~ 0.002 BTC is nothing. Especially if Bitcoin goes to five or six digits someday. When I first started using these free bitcoins sites in late 2011, people were saying the same things as now... "it is not worth ones time"; "Ones time is better spent looking for lost pennies in the street"... but those people didn't seem to consider that BTC would increase in value compared to those fiat pennies. I have gotten well over 20 BTC from these 'free BTC', 'earn BTC' and similar sites... it might not have been much back when the market value was between $2 to $5... Looking back I don't consider that time wasted. The thing about the fiat gotten from the pennies/bottle deposits/McD work is that you can use them to buy, you guessed it right, bitcoin. I highly doubt you spent less than 10 hours to earn these 20 BTC. One has to value his time very lowly to spend it earning cents (maybe even tens of cents!) per hour from faucets, when bitcoin can also be bought.

You're mining a scrypt coin with CPUs and are surprised you don't get lots of coins. OK.

what does reserved mean?
I've been asking myself for about a week now. Could anybody explain that please? Looks to be old fashioned thread tracking. You know reply in the thread so you can find it later. I could be wrong tho. Now that would be retarded when there's the watchlist functionality in the forum. Maybe they just reserve a place close to first page in case they'll have to say something later ) Yep, I was right. Checked with Google, that is exactly what it means. People have nothing to say, but they hope they will one day It makes threads a total pain in the ass to read through. Almost nobody ever edits their "reserved" posts, just look at any old thread.. And people "reserving" posts on the 8th page, what the f?

i know how to mine, and what a config file is.. but for god sake i don't know how to launch my own coin launching a coin must be horrible complicated, i don't get it how you could do it without basic knowledge Nah it's not, you just download the source of some random altcoin, search and replace its name to your name, change some random values, and voilą.
|
|
|
I am not a computer person And everyone keeps explaining mining like I know what this shit is
Well, you just launched ("launched") a coin. It's kind of expected. I see a great future in this coin.

How surprising that a number37 thread has flyingcat and sam53 replying noncontent
|
|

well we all know how big the trolls are over at 4chan and this coin is backed up by them %100
thoughts?
the same could be said for all altcoins and bitcointalk.org thoughts?

"Best one" is whichever the person replying happens to own most of. So, naturally DOGE for me. All coins start off with no value There is a famous bitcoin anecdote about a kid that paid 2000 BTC for a pizza and that was one of the landmark valuation moments for the coin.
No, that was 10000BTC for 2 pizza, and it was NOT a landmark valuation moment, rather just a random silly event. It's not like BTC started trading at exactly that price right afterwards.

Wat? In that VERY LINK: "(I am not developer)" So what exactly "he may wrote the trues" (sic)?

Right, so he owns .org and a fake twitter account, while the real website has always been .com (/qrk.cc). This is a big deal because...?

i am not selling before 0.0005 . people tried to buy at 0.001. no way i am selling before 0.0005.
If there was no lag price would have been above that now...
No, that's not how it works. People put in buy orders at 0.001 to be sure to get it at the highest sell order. It'd only matter if somebody put in a highest buy order to the amount of the entire sell list..

if Bitcoin ever reaches 10K, it's gonna be by the end of 2014 I think, not a long time after that.
I think it has to take longer, 10x more value might mean 10x more time to go to this value. It would make sence to me Only if it's linear. Now, look at this graph and tell me if it looks linear to you Maybe I'm being too optimistic, maybe getting from 1000$ to 10.000$ is much harder than from 1$ to 1000$ but I don't think so. What would make sense to me would be that the more people know Bitcoin the more people convey this news to other people and so on... you're right, it'll most likely continue the current trend of ~80x increase per year, resulting in 1btc being worth over the entire world economy by 2017 or w/e Thanks for you relevant reply. Something interesting to say ? These threads are worthless. (And yeah, so are these two posts of mine.) I think it's a bit of a problem if enough BTC owners think the value will rise to jupiter and beyond in the coming years, because that'll lead to them just sitting on their coins -> less demand since it's not used as much as it could be for buying stuff in stores.
