Update: I realized that it was actually my mistake. 796 responded to my support ticket the same day. The reply was actually so fast that I dismissed the e-mail thinking that it was an auto-reply.

Why do you like to trade short position? Why not go to long trading? Keep in mind that the price of promising coins will always go up from the long term. If we take the long trades, we make a loss, just leave there and still have a chance to make a profit when the price is increasing in the future. But for the short, it is more risky. I would recommend that taking short trades is better for a day or two!
Well for one thing long positions are more interest heavy than short positions as you know. It's pretty cheap to keep a short position open for a long time. If you want to go long position, you would better go without leverage. So you don't have the burden of paying interest, just believe the potential of that chosen coins and hold for a chunk of profit. I think this is a good idea.

I was thinking specifically wrt to fees and interest. It's just that I had been doing a few quick shorts and it occurred to me that perhaps I was throwing away money on fees by not making longer-term trades instead. But I hear you, you're saying that you're gonna do what the market calls for rather than what is lighter on the wallet .

Scenario 1: Take frequent short positions for a day or two and pay less interest but fee/profit ratio is higher.
Scenario 2: Take 1 lengthy short position and pay more interest (as we're borrowing for a longer time) but fee/profit ratio is lower.
Let's assume that in both scenarios we make profitable trades.
So which approach has a higher EV?
I suppose you may answer that it depends on what the interest rate you're paying is vs. the fees your exchange charges, but beyond that if someone could shed some light on this that would be cool.

If I want to short 5 bitcoins with a low interest rate do I need to get a swap for the full 5btcs?
I really wish there was some sort of guide that explained the intricacies of swapping on Bitfinex.

Can someone explain to me how do I use a swap that I"ve purchased when I enter a long position? Do I have to buy the swap first then it uses it automatically?
Also, if I take a long position for 1000$ do I need to buy 1000 units of swap if I want to get a lower interest rate to cover that 1k long position?

Ok so I figured out how many times I need to win at given odds to turn a profit but I'm still wondering if it's possible to figure out how much juice they're charging.

So I'm considering doing some binary trades on BtcOracle, here are the odds when guessing if the price will go higher: So I'm wondering if it's possible to calculate from these odds what their fee is? I would also like to know how often I need to be right if the return is say 1.25 (if you're wrong you lose your btc).

I want to avoid having my coins go into limbo again so after receiving coins do I need to wait for the status circle to go fully green or do I wait for a certain number of confirmations before sending?

I had the same problem. Restart the computer and reset the blockchain to a day or so before.
This solution from a similar thread seems to have done the trick. Thx Jim!

Hello guys, I withdrew 1.5 bitcoins from my exchange account to my MB wallet and after 1 confirmation MB said that they were spendable. So I tried to send those 1.5 bitcoins plus .5 bitcoins that I had in my wallet to another exchange. When I checked the transaction list in MB it showed the square instead of the circle and said seen by one peer. When I checked the transaction on the blockchain it said not found. I've had this happen before and the money would eventually reappear in my wallet. However, this time I followed the advice on the MB website which said to reset the 'blockchains and transactions' but that didn't do anything and now I can no longer see the incomplete transaction in the MB history anymore.
The last transaction showing is for the 1.5 btc that I withdrew to my MB before sending it, you can see that it has not been spent: [redacted]
This is the address that I tried to send to and it has not received anything: [redacted]
Also, I have the same wallet on 2 computers and I reset both of them, on one I still have the .5 that I tried to send with the 1.5 I withdrew, and on the other computer I have no btc at all.
The failed transaction occurred about 4 hours ago, do you think that my btc will reappear like they have in the past, and if so, how long will it take?
Please help me, how can I get my btc back and fix my MB?

What does the 'enable TFA' option do?
I think this is the 1st time I've ever had a whole poker site to myself ha ha.

Thx for the reply. I got it working. For some reason I haven't been able to get any in-browser bitcoin poker sites to work in my browser on this computer but when I switch to my main PC it works. Both computers are running Firefox, I wonder if some add-on is causing the problem.

The client is pure html5 and some javascript. Are you blocking JS in your browser? Other than that, I see no reason why it wouldn't get passed the loading bar.
I ensured that both java and javascript are up to date and functional, I also tried disabling all my add-ons. Still no joy.
