It could still be seen as a currency, although it has become more of an asset due to its value and growth. Similar to gold I suppose, was once used and still could be seen as a currency, but considered an asset and safe-haven.

As money is nothing but a tool that itself holds no actual value other than what we give it, I believe once crypto has evolved, grown, and advanced in the same way the internet did, than money will only become irrelevant. It will not happen over-night, won't happen within months, but if crypto becomes all it can, then it will happen.

Something which creates better accessibility for the masses. Maybe a simple wallet with a good looking GUI, which allowed atomic swapping among the currencies held on the wallet.
