1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Guncoin(GUN) - GUN Web 1.0 Release - New GUN Web Wallet on: April 23, 2018, 04:14:01 PM
We are seeing good number of signup on the new wallet so far. We hope this helps a lot with any potential new retailers out there getting on board with Guncoin.

I played around with mine a bit and discovered that this has the potential to be an awesome tool, of course.

Registration takes a mere few seconds, allowing someone or a business to have a wallet ASAP.

Also, that I can use it as a "mobile phone wallet" that uses the web, by using my phones QR code reader and clipboard, pasting the receiving address into mine, then sending direct to another wallet.

That was probably planned, but it was a nice surprise Smiley

Yes, so far it has been well received and we are seeing coins moving there minutes after people sign up.  And yes, you can walk into a store and pay with this web wallet standing right there using your phone or their computer.  While we feel it is very safe and secure, we have plans to add a few more features over time to add more value to and make it even more useful.  Additionally, when we move to GUN Core V1.5 soon, this wallet will get upgraded to the new one immediately as well. So if you want to summarize what Team Guncoin has accomplished over the last month with community support.......

1) Upgraded to GUN Core V1.4
2) Locked in SEGWIT and CSV at 75% and way beyond.
3) Launched the Official Guncoin Mining Pool at http://guncoinpool.com
4) Seen multiple real firearms related transactions using GUN at a major online auction site.
5) Launched the Official GUN Web Wallet at http://mygunwallet.com.

All that in less than 10 weeks!  Not bad I say.......We have updated the roadmap for V1.5 to include Bitcoin Core 0.16.x as well, since that is the current bitcoin core code available - that will bring us totally current with everything out and Lightning Network compatible.

Yep, not bad at all, pretty good actually.

Lots going on.

Here is something that may relate to (4)
Had some fun with it the other evening.

Glad to see you enjoying this Smiley  Nice grouping
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Guncoin(GUN) - GUN V1.4 Release - SEGWIT & CSV Locked In on: March 15, 2018, 04:48:33 PM
I contacted them through my GunBroker account and requested that they consider adding Guncoin as an official payment option. If everyone here that already has used GunBroker before (which I have) made a similar request it might actually make them look into it.

We need as many people as possible to sign up for gunbroker and buy and sell items with GunCoin.  I have several items up for sale, and I would be glad to buy from you guys as well.

On a technical note: The bidder that tried to hustle me, mtbird, is insatiable and determined.  He/She has filed a formal complaint with GunBroker about my listings and the requirement of payment in GunCoin.  GunBroker is required to follow protocol, so they are reviewing my account.  This is the message I get when I try to log in... "Your account is under review. We do manually review accounts so please check your account status regularly. Please contact support if you have a prior account and need assistance accessing an account."  If any of you go look for me or my items right now, it will say I am not a registered user or something similar.  Don't be alarmed, it is just protocol.

I had an issue several years ago over non-payment.  It is expected to receive retaliatory negative feedback from bidders after you leave negative feedback for non-payment.

This is all serving to put GunCoin in the spotlight, so good news!

ALSO:  I will keep this forum up to date on how this plays out so we can avoid confusion in the future.

Wow, what an experience.

As you all know, I have been promoting GunCoin by offering items for sale on the web-giant firearms and accessories site called GunBroker.com .  About one month ago, a user named 'mtbird' bid and won 7 of my items, and then proceeded to rudely demand that I take USPS money order as payment.  He cited several reasons why I could not demand crypto as payment.  These included; crypto is not legal tender, I was in violation of GunBroker policy, crypto is a Ponzi scheme and I was committing fraud by promoting a Ponzi scheme across state lines, I was being childish, crypto is a multi-level marketing scam, etc, etc.  Long story short, after exchanging a total of 39 emails with mtbird and GunBroker, I am happy to announce that GunBroker sided with crypto.

Furthermore, 'mtbird' was using an account that was registered to a woman named Sue H***rt.  He signed his emails "Mike".

Gunbroker has solved this issue by terminating mtbird's account.  I feel bad for Sue, if she is a real person.  You can see here https://www.gunbroker.com/a/feedback/profile/3579243 that mtbird is no longer a registered user.

I think that this whole issue has brought GunCoin to the attention of the website, and I hope that they will embrace this as an official payment method in the future.

Lol, maybe I shouldn't have used the Buy-it-Now option.  Looks like people are losing sleep over it.  I would take it off if I could, but once a bid has been placed, the auction terms cannot be changed.

Awesome!  Get all the publicity you can get.  I don't use twitter, so after the auction ends, let me know how many re-tweets it received.  I'm curious

What do you all think about me listing a deer rifle after the Glock auction is over?  I have quite a few inexpensive firearms that I've accumulated thru trades and such that have no real collector value to me.

If I list things at a low enough starting price, it might tempt other newbies like me to jump in and download that wallet.  At a rate of one firearm every two weeks, I would be able to keep this going for a few months.

Thoughts?

P.S. I would be happy to buy from you folks as well.  I'm not trying to hoard GUN here...although a 1,000,000 GUN does sound pretty cool Wink
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto in infancy on: February 26, 2018, 03:06:46 AM
All the crypto world needs is an education to create better awareness and investments. What do you think are ways to go about it, apart from various conferences and meets.

How are ways to go about creating better awareness of crypto currency?

I believe that many people are already 'aware' that crypto exists.  To test this, I ask people I know from work if they have ever heard of BitCoin.  I work at a factory that employs about 900 people.  My sampling is a little small, I guess, but I have noticed four standard responses to my question.  I will estimate the percentages of each response.

50%  Ever heard of Bitcoin? ----- What?

30%  Ever heard of Bitcoin? ----- Yeah, what a joke!

10%  Ever heard of Bitcoin? ----- Oh yeah!  If only I could go back in time!

10%  Ever heard of Bitcoin? ----- Yes, I have, are you invested?  I invested at (enter dollar amount here), I'm hoping it hits $100,000 one day, that's where I will sell.

My point is, half of people have never heard of the most popular crypto, 40% of the rest of the people either think its a joke, or they think they have missed their chance, and the rest are just waiting to cash out for USD !!!  Cash out, make 'money' by cashing out for inflated fiat.  The way to make people more aware of crypto coin is not by bragging about how much its 'worth'.  The way to increase awareness is not by convincing people to 'buy into crypto'.

The best way to push crypto into the mainstream is to BUY AND SELL stuff for crypto.  When you pay your electric bill, ask if they take crypto.  When you go to Starbucks, ask about crypto payment methods.  When you go to a yardsale, ask if they take Bitcoin.  No? What about Ether? LiteCoin? GunCoin? "No, well it was nice meeting you anyway, have a blessed day." ...and then walk away.

Until people believe that it is widespread, it will not become widespread.

My two cents

Look what I found!  I searched the term "Guncoin" on GunBroker and found these:

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/750833343

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/750792661

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/750832049

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/750828316

They are all the same seller, SpeedyCycles, and he does accept other forms of payment, but he also accepts GunCoin.  Sweet

OK folks, as promised, the GunCoin Glock is posted for sale on GunBroker.com  https://www.gunbroker.com/item/750976454

I have one issue, I would like to hyperlink to:  guncoin.info/getting-started/   However, GunBroker will not allow links to Http://, they only allow links to Https://  Is there any way around this?  A hyperlink to GunCoin's site would be NICE TO HAVE in the listing.

First question, how did I hear about guncoin?

I wasn't even involved in cryptos until this past October.   I got a bonus from work, so I bought some bitcoin from Coinbase.  By the time I received my BTC, it had already gone up by 10%.  This made me interested.  I watched a few YouTube videos and found that some people were basically 'day trading' on Cryptopia.

So, I opened a Cryptopia account.   I started watching all the alt coins looking for patterns, checking the action against known investment math, and watching to see which ones followed BTC, and which ones do not.  During this research period, GunCoin peaked at 3+ cents.  That sudden rise placed GunCoin in the top spot in Cryptopia's list of high gains for the day.  That is how I became aware of GunCoin.

After researching GunCoin though, I realized that it is actually useful.  This makes a long term hold a viable option.  Most alt coins scare the crap out of me.  90% of the alt coins look like a get rich quick, pump and dump scam.  I will day trade with those, but never keep or use them.

Second question, what do I plan to do with my GUN ?

I am an avid collector of firearms, and I love to shoot.  For now, I am also collecting GunCoin, but when it finally reaches a good percentage of market saturation, I am going to use it to fill in some gaps in my collection and buy a few NFA toys that are currently out of my price range Smiley

I have a question for the forum.  What caused the price to spike a couple months ago?

hello admin...

I like guns. I'll offer escrow if anyone wants. The usual stuff: coins released to dev 48 hours after coin launches and investors get their guncoins. Does that make sense and you seemed to have gotten a bunch of people interested who know literally nothing about crypto currencies which is always a good thing. This will be interesting to follow, good luck.

OK, well we have another trusted hero member that can do escrows with a lengthy track record.  But more options are always welcome.  I am a bit confused about your "coin launch" description.

I used the "Escrow" option when I listed my items.  Technically, all escrow does is guarantee that both parties receive what is promised to them.  The blockchain confirms the transfer of funds, and GunBroker confirms the receipt of the item.  If a seller does not send the item after being paid, they are held responsible to make it right.  Their account is frozen until they do.  New members may not become sellers until they have completed a set number of purchases with an A+ feedback.  I think the number is 10 buys.

OK, for those wanting to buy firearms products using Guncoin - here is your chance - https://www.gunbroker.com/item/739790572.

Gunbroker.com is starting to allow ads that accept crypto currency.  TMK, this is the first Gunbroker listing for GUN.  We wish him luck with the sale!

Hi everyone, I am the person who listed the items on GunBroker for GunCoin.  One of my winning bidders alerted me to this forum.  I think this winning bidder must be a member here as well.

I just wanted to thank you all for your support, and for the work you all are doing keeping this crypto alive.  I believe that in years to come there will be a high demand for this option;  providing that anonymity from prying financial organizations remains in place.

I have a fun story for you all  Cool

I am having some technical difficulty with one of my other bidders.  A bidder by the name of 'mtbird' (so you can block him from bidding on your stuff) won several items and is now refusing to pay with crypto.  He/she knew very well what the ad said, but he/she is trying to convince GunBroker to force me to accept USD.  I have great news, GunBroker is siding with me!

This is the first message the buyer sent me after he/she won my items:
"Checked with Gunbroker and only US backed money, securities and money orders is legal tender. Where do I send the US Postal money order?"

I contacted GunBroker Customer Service, and they replied:
"The buyer has not contacted us and we would have told them you could accept any payment method you wish as long as you stated it in the listing."

I am in communication with GunBroker now to suggest a preventative measure.  I asked them if they would add "Cryptocurrency" to their official payment options.  As it stands, they offer Money order, Personal check, Credit/Debit card, PayPal, Escrow, etc.  I would like to see an option that says "GunCoin".

I also wanted to point out that GunBroker sells a LOT more than just firearms.  You can list knives, camping equipment, collectible militaria, MREs, and almost anything remotely related to hunting, fishing, or the outdoors.  You guys are supporting me, I will support you.  Feel free to use my listings as a model, you may copy my wording, edit, and borrow my GunCoin picture.  I will be happy to post a tutorial on here about how to set up a GunBroker account, and how to avoid some of the newbee mistakes that a lot of folks make.  I am not doing all this for money, I'm just trying to promote GUN through the use of GUN.

To find my auctions, just search "GunCoin"

FYI, I am listing a Gen4 Glock model 23, .40 caliber handgun on GunBroker this weekend. This may be the first documented sale and FFL transfer on the blockchain.  Tell your friends Smiley
