I would highly recommend using escrow for this

Sure, escrow accepted. Do you want the cards?
3  Economy / Computer hardware / NEW ASUS Z87-WS LGA 1150 Intel Z87 ATX Motherboard on: June 07, 2014, 01:40:16 AM
These motherboards are great for mining because they will fit 4 double-wide GPUs.  I have 5 of these brand new, unused, unopened.

I ran 4 R9 290 cards on this model motherboard and had no issues.

I can accept PayPal or BTC or Cash in person (I'm in northern NJ).

I'm taking offers. PM me if interested.

5  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / R9 290X GPU Cooling Requirements on: December 31, 2013, 04:22:24 PM
Could anyone tell me what the BTU rating of a server with 4 R9 290X cards would be?   I am able to meter the electricity used, currently 1.4Kw, but I don't know how to measure the heat output.

Hey just curious, you know the MOBO how some have 1x slot 16x slot etc..... Mine has 4 - x16 and 2 - x1 and 1 x MiniPCI slot...

I know I can plug in cards on the 16x and 1 x but what about the MiniPCI? this way I can have 7 cards total on the board

I wouldn't put 7 cards in one machine. Too much heat and you'd also need two power supplies.  You are better off with two separate rigs in my opinion.

I've been on middlecoin for the past two weeks with 6Mh/s. (Running 7 R9 290 cards)

Week 1, Dec 16-22, I received 1.2BTC
Week 2, Dec 23-29, I received 0.6BTC

50% decline but still making a good profit after paying for the electricity.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / AMD GPU manufacturers on: December 26, 2013, 05:42:00 AM
Has anyone tried different cards manufacturers? I'm wondering if they are all about the same. I've got two rigs, one with Sapphire R9 290 cards and the other with ASUS R9 290 cards.  The Sapphire cards are averaging about 890kh/s and the ASUS are averaging 875kh/s.   There are many other brands: HIS, PowerColor, MSI, XFX, Gigabyte, Diamond.  I'm thinking of going with HIS cards in my next rig, but I'm not familiar with that brand.

Thanks for trying to help. I am running Windows, but the rigs will not even get past POST without a monitor attached.  I'm fairly certain the same thing would happen with Linux installed.  Also, as I mentioned, dummy plugs are not an option with the R9 290 cards because they do not have RGB output.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / 4x R9 290 rig won't boot without monitor attached on: December 24, 2013, 01:08:37 AM
I built two rigs so far. Each with 4x R9 290 cards in them.  They run great. I am able to get 3.5MHs from each.  The only problem is that neither system will boot without a monitor attached. I think this may be a BIOS/Motherboard issue. In one rig I have an asrock z87 extreme9 motherboard and in the other I have an asus maximus vi extreme motherboard.  Can someone recommend a motherboard I could use so that my rigs can boot without a monitor attached?  (Dummy plugs won't work on 290 GPUs).

Unfortunately a dummy plug won't work because these cards don't output an analog signal at all. They are DVI-D and a DVI/VGA adapter won't even plug into them.  I guess I have to go buy a cheap TV. Either that or a new MB.

I got them from NewEgg last week. I actually ordered 5 of them and one was bad. It wouldn't get past 500kH and it kept crashing my system. I'm going to RMA that one today.

Keep checking newegg they update stock regularly.

Hi All!

I just set up my first rig using four R9 290 (ASUS Brand).  I'm getting 3.5MH/s average doing scrypt mining. All is good. However my rig will not boot with out a monitor attached. The hard drive doesn't even start blinking so I don't believe it gets past POST.  If I plug in a monitor then it starts without issue. I'd really like to go headless though.  My MB is ASRock Z87 Extreme9/ac.  I tried upgrading the bios, no luck. The only setting I found in the bios was "primary video" the choices are onboard/PCIe.  If I select onboard, then windows doesn't find the GPUs. If I select PCIe than it doesn't post without a display attached.  Dummy plugs won't work because the R9 doesn't have RGB out. I probably need a different MB. Any other suggestions?
