1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP I GOT ROBBED! on: April 07, 2014, 04:39:45 PM

I still can't believe what happened and feel like paralyzed.

Everyday after waking up and uncountable moments through my day I'm trying to figure out what happened and what I'm going to do now?!

I was thinking for a long time before making the decision to buy bitcoins,
and I said to myself I'm going to keep them for at least 2 years and I did not have the intention to sell them quickly whatever the price may be.

I had it in my exchange since I bought them and decided to move them out in the beginning of march,
because I was afraid something like GOX could happen.
Even though I had my 2factor authentication I wanted it to be more secure.

At that time I really believed it was more secure than keeping it in kraken which was my exchange.
I'm not an expert in Cryptocurrency,
but I thought I had some knowledge about computer and the internet,
so at that moment I really did it with the best of my abilities and knowledge.

I know I am the only one to blame for it
and in retrospective I should have gathered more information about securing bitcoins but I didn't.
And now I'm paying the price for my ignorance.

I'm fighting with myself in probably thousands of moments not to do something stupid because of that loss.
Then I'm trying to tell myself there are worse things that can happen,
but sometimes it just doesn't feel like it.

For some, that loss probably means not much,
but for me it really means a lot.

The reason why I was hesitating to give away details was,
I was realizing that there's nothing I can do anymore and nothing will bring it back.

Now I got encouraged to inform other people because the more I thought about it,
the more I have the desire to at least try to prevent something like that to ever happen again.
I really don't wish this to happen to anyone!
It is really an indescribable bad feeling.
If you're like me and something like that happens you probably will go to some dark places
and will consider making some stupid decisions…

sorry for my long post
I don't feel better now, but maybe I can raise some awareness towards the security of your bitcoins
and make some people think again about how they secure their bitcoins.

what can I do with the transaction-id?
I know in cases like that some people are asking for it,
but I haven't heard of any recovery because of the transaction-id.
Just trying to understand for what it's good or use.

I really feel like I want to puke and I'm shaking all over my body and can barely type.

I was just checking my wallet on blockchain and noticed that all my bitcoins were transfered to another account!

From the Details it happened yesterday.

I had made a brainwallet which i tought noone could have guessed and never put my private-key somewhere.

Please is there anything I can do or at least to make me feel better?

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What about Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto on: March 07, 2014, 10:58:42 AM
Is Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto the real Satoshi Nakamoto "the creator of Bitcoin"?
There are also a lot of theories around, maybe he's fooling us and is 2-steps ahead.
Maybe someone pulled all this off to just take Bitcoin to the next level of publicity!
What do you think?

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / blockchain.info for Litecoin on: March 05, 2014, 03:04:50 PM

Is there a Site similar to blockchain.info just for LTC?
I know sites like blockr.io and block-explorer.

What Im looking for is the option to sweep a paper/cold or brain -wallet to the site!
My last option would be to just use litecoin-qt, but thats actually what Im trying to avoid if there's even another option.

blockchain.info has that option what I want, just not for LTC!

Any ideas?

9  Economy / Speculation / BTC, LTC or wait? on: December 16, 2013, 12:39:55 PM

Where is your money going if you just heard about cryptocurrencies?
Or do you wait for next year?

LTC looks more stable than BTC at the moment but has a lot of potential.
BTC for a newbie looks like a cheap buy or not?

For me they got everything I need (volume could be higher though)
and so far I had no troubles with them.

I just really didn't like how they handled the downtime
with not informing customers what was going on.
And after some time u start to fantasize what could be the reason and so on...

It really gave me a bad feeling,
knowing that my money is with them and I have no clue what was happening.

I hope in the future they drastically improve their SERVICE & COMMUNICATION towards CUSTOMER.
They have to fix these issues if they want to acquire more customers, get some volume and be known as trustworthy.

I seriously do like kraken a lot.
Made deposits as well as withdrawals and btc/ltc transactions to and off different wallets.
But beeing offline for that long with no info about what is going on for me as a customer is not acceptable,
and that's why I'm losing my trust to have my money over there.

I want to get some recommendations for exchange-sites where i can trade BTC and LTC.
I'm from Euro-Land so SEPA-deposits would be great.

Let me know about your positive experiences

thanks,
