1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: More traders.... Good or not? on: April 13, 2018, 01:30:46 AM
if more newbie investors with no previous experience in other markets come in, that could be positive, BUT at the same time negative , if they get scared when coins go down, and they sell, because that causes coins to drop even more.

if experienced investors with patience start investing in cryptocurrencies that's good, they will be more patient, and hodl, even when coins go down, which keeps the market in tact.

However if superexperienced extremely wealthy investors enter the cryptocurrency market , and if they have intentions to pump certain coins, that's not good, because they could be manipulating the market.

So the answer is YES, and no at the same time!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs in 2018 not same as 2017. on: April 10, 2018, 03:25:12 PM
the year just started, but its def not the same. there are a lot of icos coming out this year , more than 40 a day.
but at the same there seems to be more money invested in icos, just looking at the telegram ico #ton, and the amounts of money that has been raised this year.
BUT there were still 2018 icos that were succesfull, and with coins that have gone up.
Basically do your homework, pick the ico that has the right team, skip the ones with multiple red flags, weed out the trash, and go for the winner!

3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investing all my savings! on: April 10, 2018, 01:38:58 PM
The golden rule is NEVER INVEST MONEY YOU CANT AFFORD TO LOSE!
4  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor or Paper Wallet? on: April 09, 2018, 03:34:17 PM
With the TREZOR you should still have a paper wallet backup for it.

The TREZOR key generation is on the device though, so it avoids the situation where you generate your paper wallet on a compromised machine and therefore your keys are compromised. It's also easy to use the TREZOR if you want to spend from your cold wallet without compromising it.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All in ETH now? on: March 30, 2018, 08:29:07 PM
i would say diversify, research icos, other coins, and bet on multiple projects instead of one, because potentially ETH could go up, to the moon even and overtake Bitcoin, in that case a lot more people will make money than they already did.
BUT it could also drop more.

from a non crypto investor point of view, which I'm not. like real estate investors you typically wait for years for your investmen goes up, and you sell, and for REAL HUGE PROFITS in crypto, the same way of patience makes sense, just look at the the early adaptors/ investors of Bitcoin ( who got on board before 2011 ) or the early adaptors of ETH, and quite  a few icos, that made huge profits

People who started investing in Crypto  more recently,  tend to sell quicker, which is understandable. and I'm some cases more comfortable.
In all cases when it comes to Crypto Investing, or any kind of investments, NEVER INVEST MORE MONEY THAN YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE!

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do We Need Social Media Promotion on: March 30, 2018, 05:52:12 PM
yes we do, satishi used  networks like the p2p foundation, the Linux foundation to expand the community.
and a large part of the world is connected on social media networks.
Maybe someone heard about Bitcoin and CryptoCurrencies, but their opinion was negative based on what  mainstream media portrayed them, But if a personal friend, or someone they are connected with in social media mentions their personal positive experiences with crypto , they could be motivated to research the scene, instead of just following regular media.

There is also a reason why  crypto ads and icos are banned from insta, fb, snap, and twitter...
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: how long the bearish trend will last on: March 30, 2018, 05:31:08 PM
that's a questions that's hard to answer, and the few people that do know that, will not give that secret away.
Bitcoin could lose its #1 position to another altcoin in 2018, that's why investors, HODLers should always diversify!
And NEVER invest money, you can afford to lose!

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's an Airdrop? on: March 26, 2018, 11:00:04 PM
Can someone please explain what an airdrop is? and how it works? thanks

The simple answer: it’s literally just free coins just waiting for you.

The method behind the madness, though, is a decision regarding marketing strategy. As a way to spread awareness to the relevant audience of potential investors and eventual enthusiasts, coin teams will, from time-to-time, do airdrops.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO GET STARTED TO RECIEVE AIRDROPS?

An Ethereum Wallet: not one that is on an exchange.
It has to be a personal address that is ERC20 compatible because most of the tokens that are airdropped are ERC20 tokens, which are or were originally Ethereum-based ICOs. I suggest using  MyEtherWallet to get started immediately

The Ethereum Wallet Must be ACTIVE. By active, I mean that you have to show at least some human use of it.
Lots of airdrops have checks in place to make sure that you aren’t just randomly generating a bunch of addresses and signing them all up to unfairly obtain more coins. This means that if your wallet doesn’t show activity, it might not receive the airdrop. Sometimes, coins will be explicit in what they look for, including some type of balance in the account.

A Telegram Account : I’m sure there are amazing reasons why Telegram is the chatting tool of choice for many of these ICOs. The coins want to boost the audience count.

Usually, these airdrop coins will also require you to sign up for their Telegram accounts. Until you receive the coin in your Ethereum wallet, do not leave the Telegram accounts or you risk disqualification for the airdrop.

A Twitter Account : Similar to the reasons behind the Telegram account, many of the airdrop coins will also require you to follow them on Twitter. Some of them will even ask you to retweet some tweet.

An email address. sometimes airdrops will ask for your email, too. If you don’t feel comfortable with giving them your real email, just create a spam one. Remember the password, though; some of them actually ask you to confirm your email.
Obtaining and Withdrawing Tokens

Usually, it takes about 1–2 months after the end of the airdrop before you receive your tokens. This is primarily due to the fact that many airdrops occur before or during token sales, in conjunction to spread awareness. And tokens are not distributable until the end of a token sale anyway (I’ll write a separate piece on Token Sales, or ICOs).

To check your wallet info and see if the token has appeared in your wallet yet, just go to Etherscan. Type in your ETH address into the search box.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounties - how do they work? on: March 26, 2018, 10:48:14 PM
Bounties are simply jobs, tasks, or projects that have usually been created by coin developers. If you complete the job, then you will receive a reward in coin form.

The tasks are never too complicated, and almost never involve any sort of computer programming. That's what the developer excels at. However, there will be other things that the developer either can't do, or just won't have time to do. However those tasks are necessary for the success of the coin they created. So what do they do? They get other people to do those tasks, rewarding them with coins of their creation.

Examples of typical bounties include promoting the new coin on twitter, forums, reddit, insta, to their network , following,  or designing a logo for that coin.

13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for local transactions on: February 27, 2018, 02:50:24 AM
I Heard about multiple gangs targeting bitcoin exchangers, sellers, and people who own a lot of bitcoin.
Be aware of the fake 500 euro notes trick, that's going on in Europe. and be aware of who you deal with, because if the wrong people have the knowledge of you owning a lot of bitcoin or any crypto, they can easily trace you.

Shitty that these things are happening, my personal opinion for the safest way with local transactions would still be bank transfer, and use ESCROW until funds or bitcoins are released.
Over the counter trading with a registered company, or with someone from a known group.
