Selling 400btc at 150$ a week before the ATH.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Core developers: we want bigger blocks on: August 19, 2015, 11:56:38 PM
IMO, getting new developers behind core in a democratic fashion every so often should be our main concern. Having this much power in such few hands is not ideal. Its cause for concern in regards to safety, responsability, consensus and corruption.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Core developers: we want bigger blocks on: August 19, 2015, 11:40:09 PM
Please update core to allow 4mb blocks. Meet in the middle and stiff arm XT. They want doubling blocks every 2 years, thats quite an adoption XT is anticipating.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: Complete the sentence... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..." on: August 19, 2015, 11:08:26 PM
I would sell all my bitcoins if...

It hits ATH again and because my wife said so.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fork FAQ on: August 16, 2015, 01:01:20 AM
Thanks guys, found alot of info branching off of your answers.

Running XT just keeps you on the largest blockchain. It is the same bitcoins and the same network. Bitcoin XT is just a replacement client of Bitcoin core that allows larger blocks.

did i get this right or no?
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Fork FAQ on: August 15, 2015, 11:58:02 PM
1) What do i need to do?
2) Will anything happen to people holding current BTC?
3) What will this do to the price?
4) What is this fork accomplishing?
7  Economy / Services / TESTING WATERS - What would it cost to open and operate a ALT coin exchange? on: June 05, 2015, 05:14:46 PM
Something similiar to mintpal i suppose.

It would need to compete with other top altcoin exchanges.
Protection from ddos.
Internal support tickets.
Coin voting system.
Charts and also integrated buy/sell percentiles.

You know, the whole 9 yards.

What would it cost me? i cant do any of the work myself so possibly i could financially back someone who cant put skin in the game.

This right here is probably why the closed down(not trying to rip on you just saying many of us are intense).. minimul profit and the most vicious people on the planet to deal with lol. We are a vicious bunch lol.  Although we need to be half the blood people out there are frauds.

They have stopped withdraws eh... that is bad bad news :S.  VOS never stopped withdraws :S..  I forsure see why you are considering a lawsuit :S.. Perhaps a week to let them move the coins out of cold storage if that is the issue..?

You think someone is shutting down a Free Money Machine because a couple of people on the forums are complaining?

Scroll up and read Havelock's latest replies in this thread, and then tell me they're shutting down because of feelings.

INCOMING AND OUTGOING:
Monthly trading fees: $30,000
Monthly expenses: Huh

Yep, they're definitely making minimal profit...  Roll Eyes

Cavirtex has been in the negative over 100K a month for the last little while. That could have something to do with why they are closing their doors. FYI.

Obvisouly not public information but can you say for certain its credible information?

Quadriga looks good, you only have to verify if you fund CAD but not for withdrawal.

Just need to wait until the volume transfers from VOS/CAV to quadriga then we should have something decent.

Feb. 17, 2015, 12:12 p.m. - CAVIRTEX shutting down

Effective immediately, CAVIRTEX intends to cease carrying on an active Bitcoin business and will be winding down its operations in an orderly manner. As a result, effective immediately, no new deposits will be accepted by CAVIRTEX. Trading on CAVIRTEX will be halted effective March 20, 2015. Effective March 25th, 2015, no withdrawals will be processed. CAVIRTEX will communicate with any account holders that continue to hold balances after March 25, 2015.

We have maintained 100% reserves. CAVIRTEX is solvent and remains in a position to accommodate all customer withdrawal requests received prior to March 25, 2015. However, On February 15, 2015 we found reason to believe that an older version of our database, including 2FA secrets and hashed passwords, may have been compromised. This database did not include identification documents.

Because security and the safety of customer funds are paramount to our mission and the success of Bitcoin in general, CAVIRTEX has determined to cease active operations in the Bitcoin business and to return all customer funds. We believe that the damage to the company's reputation caused by the potential compromise will significantly harm our ability to continue to operate successfully.

As a result of the potential compromise of our database we cannot be certain of the confidentiality of account credentials. Please log into your account and change your password immediately. Please also clear your CAVIRTEX browser cookies. BTC and LTC withdrawal will remain temporarily disabled.

We ask that customers please fill in their Bitcoin and Litecoin return addresses on their user preferences. These fields have been cleared for all users and will need to be filled in once again. This page is accessible under Settings then User Preferences. Your BTC and LTC will be sent to that address. CAD withdrawals remain enabled.

CAVIRTEX continues to believe, as we have over the last three and a half years of operation, that cryptocurrency is here to stay. We appreciate all the support from our amazing customers who have been on this journey with us. You are the true Bitcoin pioneers and with your help we have imprinted Bitcoin in the Canadian conscience.

Even with this latest development, we are proud to say that we have never lost customer funds. To our knowledge, our production environment has never been breached.

CAVIRTEX intends to communicate with its loyal shareholders regarding this announcement in the near future.

Thank you to our loyal customers and all of our supporters who believed in us but more importantly trusted us.

Sincerely,

The CAVIRTEX Team
