Do you have libncurses5-dev installed?
I installed mentioned lib but unfotunately with no efect. Any other idea? Is there someone who runs Linux rig who can share experiences? Thanks. I got it working by overwriting the binary with this http://vertcoin.org/downloads/vertminer.tgz It's on vertcoin frontpage. Version is 0.5.2. I copied that binary to my linux server, but nothing happens when I run the command. What's the syntax that I should use? I was using ./vertminer -o stratum+tcp://s.la.vertcoin.org:3333 -u user.name -p xxxx But like I say, nothing happens. I installed the SDKs as instructed from the main page. Is there a way to ensure they are installed and working correctly? Thanks

Hello - I have an MSI R9 270 which I flashed with the wrong BIOS. I ended up jumping the 1 and 8 pins on U111 so that the PC could recognize the card and proceeded to flash the correct BIOS. However, the BIOS flash did not write. I have tried "atiflas -unlockrom 1" and I get the notice "ROM Unlocked." But when I try to re-flash the card, it doesn't stick. A picture paints a thousand words, here's my situation: As you can see, the PC recognizes both R9s, but the second one fails to write BIOS. I can re-flash card 0, but not card 1. Any ideas? Thanks! Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

sooo, I´m running a Gigabyte r9 280x rev. 2 Catalyst 13.12 My Settings: color 02 setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 "D:\Program Files (x86)\Vertcoin-CGMinerAleks_NR3\cgminer.exe" --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://us.bitcrush.info:3444 -u -p -w 256 -I 13 -g 1 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-powertune -20 --gpu-fan 59 --temp-overheat 85 --temp-cutoff 90 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-engine 1100 --thread-concurrency 8212 (marginal difference in range between 8190 to 8250) I am getting exactly 304.7 kh/s with the normal cgminer I am getting about 730 kh/s My problem: - It spits to many rejects out with an ratio of 12% (!!!). I tried playing with:
thread concurrency, no effect - 70% of 8192 = HW´s on mass
trying with -g 2 or higher was unsuccessful
lowering core clock resulted in lower hash speed (memclock the same)
lowering intensity induced lower hash speed
I really don´t know where the problem could be. Please help me The rejection rate is a catastrophe! Problem solved. I changed the pool, now everything is running smooth! What hashrate are you getting? I have Gigabyte R9 280x, v3 my settings are: setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://s.la.vertcoin.org:3333 -u -p -w 256 -I 13 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-powertune -20 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-engine 1000 --thread-concurrency 8192 And I am getting around ~300 kh/s - I'm used to seeing 720 kh/s. I've tried -g 1 and changing thread-concurrency but there's not much change. There are so many variables with this I'm hoping another Gigabyte user will share their settings. Oh, I have underclocked the card, voltage set to 1.075. Thanks!

New coin is released, you want all hashing power you can get to mine in first days, looking at profit if it makes it to any exchange, would be one of my guesses.
That is correct.. Lets take an example from 42 which I mined only for few hours solo i had 24000 dents which i sold for around .45 BTC you are always taking a risk when mining new coins. RPC/CAT paid of initially but on the other hand GFT,MOON,COYE,HOLYNOODLE etc failed but soo... its a risk If you know which coin to mine, you can make a real fortune. I mined 42 from the day it came out up to the day it hit cryptsy with my 5.5 MH/s. When it appeared on exchange and I saw a chance for price 400 BTC, I dumped all, which gave me 2.6 BTC (for ~5 days of mining - that is 0.5 BTC per day!). Unfortunately, I dumped too soo, if I had waited more time, I could have made 10+ BTC (2 BTC per day of mining!!!). This is just nice example that even with renting, it is possible to make loads of money, you just need to know what to mine and at what time. I also earned nice amount on DOGE (4-5 BTC for few days of mining) and VEL (~3 BTC for few days of mining). There were other coins, but less profitable. Staying on multipools or simply mining regular established coins for low profit is waste of time in my opinion. I see, so it is speculation. But only on new coins with the hopes they hit an exchange and are popular with enough trade volume to sell at a decent price. It's a tough game, I can't keep up with all the new coins being dropped. It's like an arcade game... But who is buying these coins? I quickly mined and dumped Coinye, because hell, that was an easy one, it was going to be popular, but there are people owning hundreds of thousands of these coins with no where to go now. Anyway, thanks, that makes sense. Now I'll have to try it out some day.

I like the idea of the service, but I am confused about the profitability here. (I know the mining rigs are all rented now, but I am creating an example using the listed hashrate and costs.) So if I go to http://leaserig.net/ and rent Jupiter for 24 hours, I am charged 0.0470 BTC (around $36 or so). I get the proceeds from that 24 hours of mining. As of this writing, the most profitable coin right now according to coinwarz.com is Franko coin, which would gain me ~$25. Umm...profit? How does this make me money? Maybe middlecoin or something gets a slightly better profit? But 25% more? In any case, if those calculations about turned out to show a profit for the lessee, why wouldn't the owner of the hardware use it to mine coins? So that's what confuses me, maybe there is another way to rent these to gain a profit. Or maybe the lessee is hoping for the value of the coin to improve and make the money later? I fully expect that I have missed something here, please enlighten me! Thanks!

Looking at your settings and your proxy - you are having your proxy pass through the user names in your cubes rather than defining it proxy-wide, via the "-cu" and "-cp" switches. You can do that of course, but then you have to be sure that the usernames in your cube setups will work on the pool directly.
Hope this helps! - Tye
I don't know how to use the -cu or -cp switch. Can you give me an example? Thanks! In addition to the gateway change, you'll need to change your proxy line to mining_proxy.exe -o us2.eclipsemc.com -p 3333 -gp 8330 -q Your Gateway is blank....Needs to be your router IP address....
Thanks, Gents! One or both of these got me mining! Cheers! Wait, I'm going to take a longshot here, -cu is <username> and -cp <password>? I'll try that... EDIT: Well, I tried that as in: -cu username -cp password but the mining did not register on the site. If I use my username/password in the settings panel, it works. But I'd like the functionality of using a command line version. If someone can give me an example in syntax. Thanks.

I can get my cubes to work using BFGMiner but I'm Having a problem using the mining_proxy.exe. My batch file setting is: mining_proxy.exe -o stratum+tcp://us2.eclipsemc.com -p 3333 -gp 8330 -q (and yes, mining_proxy.exe is in the same folder as the .bat file.) Here is my miner settings: And this is the error messages: (And to restate - I can get this to work with BFGminer, I am trying to figure out mining_proxy.) Any ideas? Thanks.

Oh..so we send a trust amount of $5 which is .01 Ripple, and you will refund that? Fascinating world we're creating here.
(I'm fine with it, I trust Bitstamp already, just the mechanics of all this is interesting...)

I am surprised this wasn't already a coin! If you have problems connecting to the pool, the address is stratum.piratecoin.co:3334. NOT pool.piratecoin.co. The pool operator should be made to walk the plank! Argg!!

I am GPU mining using my new R9 280x (20hpm) and yes, It does make about 27MMC per day, despite the huge change in difficulty decreasing my expected reward by about 30-40% with its variations.
How do you get 20hpm with the 280x? I have a Gigabyte R9 280x and I only get about 18 hpm. I am on Windows 7 x64 with my engine at 1100, memory @ 1500 and Powertune +15%. Any hints to improve my hashrate? Thanks. Edit: And I'm not using my desktop for anything else.

Hy guys. I know this sucks but I had 40k EAC and I lost all because my HD stopped working. I just not lost EAC but other coins too, EAC was the most important, the others I didn't give that attention. I know you'll say that I should backup my wallet, but I'm a human learning by the worst way possible! So if you can donate any amount to me. I'd be very happy and grateful.
Thank you!

There are ways to recover stuff from a HDD. If it's a mechanical problem (and a disk drive, rather than an SSD), pop it in the freezer, sometimes the expansion of the ball bearings gets it to move again (google this). Also, there are HDD recovery tools that work pretty well. Good luck!
