Wow, a Dev online & I like Fractals (although never really understood them, shame), result.

I'm interested in how this pans out...even pointed a few miners at it too Smiley
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: **** Official Ethereum QA thread **** on: April 06, 2014, 10:47:39 AM
For me, new ventures and projects are all about the communications, setting expectations, managing the questions.

Thats something I don't see happening here.  Did I miss the bit where everybody was off on holiday or something?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: They sold car already with aur in iceland :) on: March 28, 2014, 10:29:41 PM
The verdict is in...

AUR is a shitcoin scam whose bottom just fell out.  I managed to make a few bucks on it but only by way of lowball bids and mini flash-crashes.  I have no respect for this turd and you should all wash your hands before the losses get dry-caked on.

Good riddance lol

Alas, a bottom feeder that makes money of a coin then slags it off you're a dime a dozen..I'm not sure whats worse, bottom feeding pond life or shitcoins?

ces't la vie, As you just said, good riddance to you.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: March 24, 2014, 09:33:53 PM
HELP!

I've tried using all my dogecoin settings, and even pasting some of the settings here, but have not managed to break more than 11 KH/s with vertminer Sad

My tried-and-true settings for dogecoin on my 7850 usually give me 346 KH/s:
-intensity 12 --gpu-threads 2 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1200 --shaders 1024 --thread-concurrency 4096 --worksize 256

but even with the thread concurrency in half, I still can't get much higher than 12 KH/s.

what am I doing wrong? gpu has 2GB of memory, and system has 4GB of ram.

After much tweaking I've got my 7850's up to 175+kh/s on vertminer (BAMT)

    "worksize": "64",
    "intensity": "19",
    "thread-concurrency" : "8192",
    "shaders" : "1280",
    "gpu-engine" : "980",
    "gpu-memclock" : "1250",
    "gpu-vddc" : "0",
    "gpu-powertune" : "0",
    "gpu-threads" : "1",
    "lookup-gap" : "2",
    "queue": "0",

MSI HD7850 (single fan) 2GB 7850's, these are currently performing better than my Asus 270's.

I'll stick to my £ thanks.
7  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: March 08, 2014, 11:39:12 PM
Unfortunately speculators will speculate..
8  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: March 08, 2014, 07:59:23 PM
This could be a load of BS, but hey caveat emptor.  Its the same with FIAT and the same with stocks etc.. gamble with the principle you might get burned.

Seriously, the sheer mass of Alt currencies is what is keeping speculators going, I'm happy to admit I made a few coin buying and selling AUR, its was fun, I was never going to get rich on it. A potential Air Drop of 300k+ of coins isnt a great way of protecting the currency though, perhaps air dropping them first would have helped?

I've looked at both side to this discussion and frankly neither holds up well to scrutiny. Yup, it could be a scam but I draw your attention to the second line above. Caveat Emptor, it's not great use of Latin but it seems to fit.

Just because somebody is unwilling to do something doesn't prove their guilt or otherwise, Accusing somebody is simply part of the anonymity of the internet shining through, you need a modicom of truth or doubt to perpetuate your story, and lets face it, the "blatant scam" theory hasn't been proven one tiny little bit. Likewise, a website is cheap and quick to make.

Arguing about it here does nothing more than postcount+1

The dev doesnt appear willing to discuss it, a number of the allegations are without foundation.

9  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Welcome Armory users! on: January 29, 2014, 10:46:32 PM
I think this has huge potential.

I love the back up options and with a bit of UI refinement (already posted some screen shots with the UI issue on Github)  and some fixes it'll be great.

I like the fact that it tells me exactly where my BtC is, Multibit doesnt seem to have an option of showing you what is where..damned annoying when trying to tidy up addresses and export priv keys for security.

Keep up the good work.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [VTC] Vertcoin Official Faucet on: January 25, 2014, 04:15:33 PM

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: December 25, 2013, 12:55:11 PM
I can't even log in. It appears as if the page is just refreshing when I try.

Anyone else have this?

I am having the same issue.

Me, too!

There have been numerous posts about this already.

The site is effectively locked until the guys can figure out what has happened, this should help to protect anybody that has BTC untouched in their account.  I suspect (I have no personal info on this!!) once the issue is understood they will change the BTC addresses back to what it should be.  It might take some time to wade through the DB and correct what the issue was/is and fix it.

Hope that helps for people jumping to the end of the thread...

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: December 25, 2013, 11:58:24 AM
Is there any recourse for those who had coins stolen? Or should we assume we will never see them again? Sucks... I lost 0.09 BTC and my payout was set to 0.1 Sad

As with most things like this, plan for the worst and hope for the best.

The fact that the owners of the pool are still posting here is a good thing, but small operations need time to work this out, the timeframe is bad, I have sympathy for the guys.

As for recourse, no, you are on the cutting edge of technology, this, as somebody so aptly put it, is the wild west.    Until there is some sort of regulation around it there will be nasty shits determined to try to steal what isnt there.

Unique usernames and passwords are the order of the day to at least offer some protection from the exposure of your details. When you have a vulnerability like this "seems" to be, even that would protect you from losing what is on that site.   The middlecoin model seems to work quite well to battle this, but again, this is the net, nothing is 100% safe.

Gamble ONLY what you can afford to lose. Find a happy medium between cashing out and the typical charges for doing so.

I hope you get your BTC back..

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: December 25, 2013, 12:17:22 AM
Ops should reimburse users, but only partially - if someone is too stupid to leave 0.5+ BTC on pool ran by two (doesn“t matter how honest) guys, where no one can expect robust security platform, deserves nothing more than loose it. During 6 months of mining I lost coins in various scams (Unocs, Orbit Coin, PhenixEx..) and I learned one thing - You are on enemy territory and if You loose, it was by your mistake so blame no one but You.

aTriz and nearmiss did great job here, so stop complain and try to be supportive.

The only person stupid here is you... Be supportive for a bunch of f... amateurs. I WANT MY FUCKING MONEY BACK

Glad you are being so mature about all this, we can tell who are the adults in the room!

In other news, we continue to have login's/payouts DISABLED, we will update here and in IRC within a few hours after me and nearmiss have a sit down and discuss things.

~Hashcows Team~

P.S. Merry Christmas everyone, sorry to start it off with this bad day!

Hope it all works out for you. It all looked very promising.

Alas, I moved to middlecoin a few days ago, seemed more stable for my kind of limited mining.

Given the crap thats just happened, I hope you can salvage some of your Christmas!

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: December 24, 2013, 11:18:35 PM
The down side to an unregulated system of transferring currency.  It isn't the first and wont be the last.

Spent a bit of time on Blockchain looking at the trail it left earlier. Very messy.  I hope everybody that lost currency, gets it back.

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm a victum of xtrememiners.net scammers on: December 13, 2013, 12:23:21 AM
i think legally they really cant be held liable for anything can they? until the govt there and where u are say they have an actual value?

This is basically the unpinning point of virtual currencies surely?

There is little or no regulation, therefore, you pays your money you takes your chances.
