1  Other / Obsolete (selling) / [SOLD] Selling Portal via Steam gift! 0.4 BTC on: June 13, 2011, 05:18:26 PM
I have an extra copy of Portal that I'd like to sell, I think at the current Mt. Gox price 0.4 is fair, but if it climbs again I'll probably discount it.

I am open to suggestions on how best to handle this transaction. I don't have any reputation built yet (and I'm not sure how to), but maybe something like Clearcoin? Though I don't think that'd be worth it for such a small transaction.
2  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting a moderator on: June 13, 2011, 04:29:27 AM
Alright, first off, this is highly inappropriate and this discussion should be held in private. However, now that it's public, I have a little to add for both sides:

First, Diablo, in my humble opinion, did not handle it the best he could have. I've been admin and moderator on a few large forums, and if it were me, I would have simple removed the [img] tags in the posts to make them into hyperlinks. Calling them spam and deleting the posts without explicit rule-breaking going on was a little extreme, and even in the worst cases it's better to edit the posts rather than delete them so you have a record to justify your actions.

Now I'm not here to tell you how to do your job, but I'd just like to offer my constructive criticism. If I'm out of line, I'm sorry.

And, on the other hand, I think all this hating on Diablo is ridiculous. Moderators are just people with a job to do, and it's often impossible to please everyone. So cut him a little slack, and don't defame him publicly like this. I seriously doubt he had any dastardly intentions with his stickying, and if you think something deserves stickying that isn't, just PM him and ask.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Worried about the recent drop in bitcoin value? Looking for a way out? on: June 12, 2011, 07:18:04 PM
No to both of those questions.
Do not say bitcoin is dead. Bitcoin is _Real_. When you hold a bitcoin in your hand you hold a peace of history.

Errr, I'm pretty sure no one's going to get to hold a bitcoin in their hand Tongue

This is awesome! Do you have to register just the one time, and you're automatically entered in every day's drawing?

If I win, I'm going to donate 10% of it back to the website to help keep it going Cheesy

It's still going on in my time zone for nine more minutes xD Hopefully he lives on the West Coast of the US and can buy it for himself in time.

Haha, I have some like those, but they're in my guitars. Maybe you could find some at a guitar store?

Well, I've only just begun this whole bitcoin thing, but I'm definitely willing to do my part to spread the word about this website!

Dang, I had this exact same idea! I don't know who would trust me with my two (now three) posts, but it's comforting to see that everyone here is pretty trusting!

Once tecshare is out of funds, I think I'll start a thread of my own with this same idea, if he doesn't mind. I don't want to step on your toes while you're still selling Tongue
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [SOLVED] 4870x2 one core at 83Mh/s other core at 54Mh/s on: June 07, 2011, 06:44:43 PM
That worked for me too! Thank you very much for the link Cheesy
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 4870x2 one core at 83Mh/s other core at 54Mh/s on: June 06, 2011, 01:10:36 PM
I am having the exact same problem with my HD 4870X2, also a Sapphire brand. I know why, just not how to fix it yet: When a core is not being used, it downclocks itself to save power, however sometimes certain programs, such as the bitcoin miners, cannot trigger it to go back to full speed. I suspect using a third party program to lock the card at full speed would work; I don't know of any that work, but I'm going to try MSI Afterburner per mewantsbitcoins' suggestion!

Also, just fyi, if you have two 4870X2s like I do, only the first core stays overclocked and the other three are all stuck at around 54 Mh/s.

EDIT: MSI Afterburner isn't doing it, but I do enjoy the dynamic fan control feature Cheesy
