1  Other / MultiBit / How to connect locally to Multibit with script to crack password on: December 18, 2013, 01:13:17 AM
If Multibit does not use the daemon service bitcoind, how is it possible to connect locally to Multibit to run a brute-force script to crack a password? I incorrectly wrote my password down and after almost a 500 failed manual attempts through the GUI, it's about time to run a script. But to the best of my knowledge, powershell and ruby scripts found on this forum used for cracking need bitcoind running. Is there a way around this? Any insight into this issue would be much appreciated. I'm divvying up 40% of recovered funds to all who help.

Do the Ruby and/or Powershell scripts function with Multibit wallets?

Ruby:

Powershell:

It appears that bitcoind daemon service needs to be run for them to function. Does Multibit use this service or something else? When Multibit is running, netstat -o, a foreign address of bitcoind:8333 pops up at times.
