1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] AlphaCoin pool - alf.moowh.nl - VARDIFF - block finder reward - 1% fee on: December 21, 2013, 10:04:15 PM
The AlphaCoin pool is running stable for a while now, so it is time to do a public announcement. Join our ALF pool and benefit from the advantages of a Moowh pool:

  • Cloud hosted, so very stable and no more slow mining pools.
  • Maintained by experienced professional system administrators.
  • VARDIFF (Variable Diff which helps getting the maximum block shares out of your mining) and equal block sharing using PPLNS.
  • Low 1% pool fee.
  • Block finder rewards; an extra reward paid from the Moowh wallet if you are the one who found the block.
  • Fast automatic payouts.

If you're not mining Alphacoin at the moment, you should give it some serious consideration, as it is one of the better paying crypto currencies at the moment!

There's a new CasinoCoin pool at http://csc.moowh.nl/

It has stratum, VARDIFF, PPLNS, just 1% fee and a block finders reward.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] CasinoCoin - The Premiere Coin for Online Casino Gaming | On Cryptsy! on: December 17, 2013, 06:30:38 PM
We at Moowh launched a new CasinoCoin pool and after some stability testing it's live now. The first few blocks have been found already. It's cloud hosted to make it stable and so we can easily upgrade the servers if they would get too slow somehow.

The pool has VARDIFF, a low 1% fee and even a block finder reward.

Join us at http://csc.moowh.nl/

Please give the new pool a chance, so we can have a good hashing pool and everyone will benefit from it.

Then please tell me  0.11something LTC for 24hours of mining with a 7990 at 1,394 Gh/s  is 'normal' ? If that's the case then I will sell the gfx card today as it is 1000% totally useless then Smiley
You're correct that's not normal, but there might be a reason for it Smiley Still, I would try another pool in the meantime. Just mine there for a few hours and see if that helps.

A new Alphacoin mining pool has been launched at Moowh and the first blocks are mined already! It's cloud hosted, which makes it very stable and possible to add resources as soon as needed, so no more slow pools. The pool is administered by professional system administrators.

It has PPLNS, VARDIFF, just 1% fee and even a block finder reward! You can sign up at http://alf.moowh.nl/

Then point your cgminer to: cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://alf.moowh.nl:3333 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password

Please give the pool a chance and in the end we will all benefit from a stable and good hashing pool.

How much you're mining in USD exactly depends on lots of factors, for example the mining difficulty and the exchange rates. In the meantime the LTC/USD rate dropped a bit compared to it's highest value and the difficulty has doubled in a few weeks time.

Of course you can always try another pool, just to be sure. But the mining pool probably can't do anything about things like difficulty and rates.

What are GC's. GoldCoins or GameCoins or something? You can trade those two at Cryptsy.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / New stable AlphaCoin mining pool online on: December 15, 2013, 10:21:52 AM
Hello,

I've been mining for a while now and I'm also sysadmin on a few other pools from other people. To make this experience useful, I have started my own AlphaCoin mining pool.

It's cloud based and monitored, so very stable. Also this makes it possible to add resources, so when there are a lot of miners it won't be slow as some other pools.

It has PPLNS, VARDIFF, just 1% fee (to pay for the cloud hosting) and even a block finder reward!

Best regards,
Dick
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Someone is mining with R9 290X ? on: December 15, 2013, 09:20:56 AM
You can also look for the R9 270X card. I'm doing 400-450 KH/s and because it is a loss less expensive the 270X has about the same or better hashing power for your money compared to the 290X. And it's less noisy (well, depends on which card you pick, but they are easier to cool).

Of course the 290X is a great card too Smiley
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Most trustworthy exchanges? a list perhaps? on: December 15, 2013, 09:11:02 AM
This is a site comparing exchanges, but it does not state how trustworthy an exchange is: http://coincompare.com/

Of course you can assume you can trust the exchange if it has been online for a few years and it has a high volume. That suggests people keep using the exchange and they won't do that if the exchange is stealing coins.

Another idea is to start this kind of site yourself. Maybe you can even make some money with it Smiley
