1  Other / Meta / Re: Is it a spam? Some reserve cunt bot? on: March 25, 2018, 08:17:19 AM
I always see "reserved" in threads like marketplace and ANN.

I didn't know this was spam! I always thought they reserved the spot for some kind of translation or addendum
2  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia accounts being cracked on: March 25, 2018, 08:12:29 AM
Sometimes an exchange gets hacked then robs its customers to cover its loss. It keeps quiet about the hack, then starts delaying withdrawals and playing dirty tricks to rob its customers of coins. Getting your coins off cryptopia unless necessary for a trade is good advice.
Wow, that sounds really scar? Which exchanges have been known to do that? I haven't heard of such a thing... Usually they announce the hack then they limit withdrawals or something.

I'm pretty sure if they limited withdrawals before the hack, then people would just accuse the exchange of making up the hack..
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is $900 a realistic prediction for ETH by EOY? on: March 25, 2018, 08:05:07 AM
Lol, you're talking about next December... I'm pretty sure BTC will rally over 25k, by then, and Eth will be at least $2,000.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Binance Exchange was hacked on: March 11, 2018, 04:29:59 AM
Binance temporarily suspended withdrawals because users complaind of unconsented trades into BTC from their alt positions.

The rumoers was that binance was hacked. But that's not what happened. The USERS were hacked by the third party bot they were using that tried to fk them.

So binance stopped withdrawals to prevent these users from losing money from their accounts via malicious bot sending the money elsewhere.

moral of the story: watch which 3rd party trading software you're relying on.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Wallet? on: March 11, 2018, 04:18:47 AM
There's a bit of drama going on with MEW. One of the co-founders left on somewhat negative terms. Whether that means anything for the private keys, or whether or not that person took private key logs with her... who knows?

I would rather that you used a core eth wallet, the official ethereum wallet from the core team. Or you can choose a trusted hardware wallet.

Different alts use different wallets... unless it's an ERC20 token, which is on the eth blockchain, so it also is stored in ethereum addresses.

Bitcoin is different altogether and can only be stored in bitcoin-compatible wallets.

I just bought eth at $681. I'm going to hodl.

When there's blood in the streets, take money from your sheets and go all in! Bear, but believe, and you'll see the bull.

Sell? No.

Steel hands, men. Steel hands.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the Bitcoin Market Crashing? on: March 11, 2018, 02:14:37 AM
So, I'm reading this thread and I see people blaming Mt. Gov trustee, NKorea and Trump for some reason, and other things.

But there could be any number of reasons why the market is crashing that we just don't see. There could really be manipulation going on, or secret deals. Who knows, maybe everyone just decided to stop buying all together because of the tax season coming up. Or there could be a lucrative alternative stock besides crypto that some investors have flocked to. It's all unpredictable.

Take to the market experts to see what you should really do. They're experts at stock trading, and if you're treating crypto like high-volatile stocks then you need to listen to their advice.

Peter Lynch says that you should put down the books and news. He says to buy wisely. In a bear market, he insinuates that one shouldn't look for possible reasons for the crash, but instead, to capitalize on it by buying more from stocks you perceive are going to recover.

So basically, stop trying to calculate, and just go buy into the bear so you can be ecstatic when it turns into a bull.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TRTL] TurtleCoin - Cowabunga Dudes! on: March 11, 2018, 01:38:17 AM
Just found Turtlecoin, for me it's the next dogecoin on CryptoNight algo.

I hope we can buy pizza with TRTL coin  Grin
I also saw this token is pretty good. Let's hope it can get many results of this token signature campaign. and I hope the project more successful.

We may find any possibilities of this project, well just support this TurtleCoin. With the clear idea offered on their website and whitepaper, I'm sure that this token will be much prettier.

Your post doesn't make any sense, and I'm going to err on the side of it being ESL rather than spam.

But to clear up your obvious misconceptions: TurtleCoin (TRTL) is not a token. It is a standalone coin that is a fork of Bytecoin.

The 1 trillion coins too much i think Cheesy

The point is to have a coin that everyone can have millions of, while also have a lot of awesome low-cost transaction fees.

The coin actually is the first that uses a decimal. And the default tx fee is only 0.1 turtle.

That's insane, man.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain as Business? on: March 10, 2018, 09:18:43 AM
to put it simply: anything that requires a secure ledger.
Something in accounting, maybe, or inventory.

Anything at all where daily transactions need to be kept and updated -- that's where blockchain tech excels.

Fortuatnely, that's every single industry lol. Even the medical and pet shop industries.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to find new coins? on: March 10, 2018, 08:47:30 AM
How has no one mentioned whattomine.com? That's one of the most famous places to go check for profitable coins to mine.

Besides that, I agree with others -- use the search function and search only the ANN alt section with the keyword "premine"
12  Economy / Economics / Re: The diamond industry is a scam. Diamond has no intrinsic value. on: March 09, 2018, 06:27:26 PM
In my own opinion, I don't think it is,  I still believe in diamond, atleast the natural ones though. There may be fakes ones out there but atleast when one get the original ones, the value is still worth it. Its a matter of knowing the difference between the two. And no matter how cryptocurrency is taking over, Diamomds will still be among the most treasured value all over the world.

I agree. Diamonds that are synthetically produced can be differentiated from diamonds that are naturally produced.

The rareness of diamonds are what give them a good markup, but then after that, they're priced high for the same reason that pokemon cards are priced higher than a piece of printed paper: demand.

It's a tradition all over the world to buy your loved one a diamond ring for marriage or some kind of anniversay or something. That's a tradition that's not changing. That means everyone who gets married will buy some kind of diamond for their partner. And they'll buy another diamond for their anniversary(s).

It's just like pokemon cards. As long as people keep buying them. They're going to keep becoming expensive.

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korean Travel Site with Over 50,000 Hotels to Accept 12 Cryptocurrencies on: March 08, 2018, 04:03:54 AM
People will say this is amazing, but it really isn't, IMHO.

It's one site that acts as a 3rd party for 50k hotels, ,inns, pubs... it's just a lot of crypto hype (which I don't mind). But it's basically hot air.

Because there are a lot of debit cards out now that specialize in Crypto-to-debit. For example, BitPay, which I use. You send BTC to your BitPay address, and it converts it to fiat. Then you just use the debit card for an unlimited amount of worldwide hotels, resorts, bars, etc. Tongue

So this Korean site is basically nothing special. S. Koreans can just send their btc to a crypto debit card then use it anywhere debit cards are accepted.
