1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Mt. Gox US Bank accounts eventually get frozen? on: June 09, 2011, 01:33:46 PM
I thought MtGox is now located in Japan.

Do they have an US account?

MtGox seems to be located in France. I just sent EUR to MtGox and the bank account information they gave me for that purpose refers to a French Bank account:

Bank details:
 Account Owner: MACARAJA SAS
 Bank Name: CIC
 BIC: CMCIFRPP
 IBAN: FR76 3006 6109 7100 0200 1720 142
Address: 9 avenue Pierre Sangnier / 94350 Villiers sur marne / France

Hello,

today I opened the Bticoin GUI again, as usual, but the balance is showing 0.00 and all the transactions are suddenly greyed out and marked as unconfirmed.

What is wrong?

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is made illegal... on: June 07, 2011, 11:03:12 PM
The world is not just the USA. Bitcoin is global. It will only hurt the US if they make it illegal, I think. Some other country will pick up the slack in reduced bitcoin activity.

Don't underestimate the desire (or ability) of the US government to control the world.

Don't overestimate the ability of the US government to control the world. As we could see, the Playstation Network had to go offline in order for them to find Bin Laden.

Read carfully the TOS of Dropbox. They encypt the data after you sent it to their server. So, if the US Government requires them to hand over your files without encryption, they will do what they are told to do. (Remember Twitter handing over information of Wikileaks supporters?)

That is why I use Wuala. It is based in Switzerland and encrypts the data on your disk before sending it to their servers and the cloud.
So there is no way they can decrypt your data. Even if required by any government. Only you can decrypt the data.

This is my referral link. I get aprox. 500 MB free and you get 1 GB free.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who has dealt with Bitcoinrigs.com? on: June 07, 2011, 09:07:57 PM
I started receiving bitcoins from BitcoinRigs.com two days ago. Always around 9:30 h. But today I have not received any bitcoins and no answer to my messages.

Maybe I will sent an e-mail.

-- UPDATE ---

I just received my bitcoins.
Thank you!
