1  Economy / Economics / Re: Did gold ever drop to worthless? on: June 11, 2011, 09:08:19 PM
Worthless? Aside from before humans started to trade gold, perhaps not.

Worth Less: Defiantly can't eat gold, in human history there where times and places where gold traded for equal weight of salt...

You brought your own legitimacy into question, the point was that I would confirm that you had sent when you did, I read your auction and was ready and willing to wait.

I only posted that out of respect to other forum members, thought they might like to know.

What's with that....  Huh

Not sure, perhaps my use of a  Angry and Bold text was too much. Had no intention to suggest that its a scam. Wasn't expecting an instant result, just figured I would keep the other forum members informed...

Lol, oh well, think you took that much more harshly than I intended. Was hoping to speed things along and be able to confirm that you where legit, then again I did start to feel rather un-ez when I noticed that your account is brand new.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Ashish Goel...who is developing his own peer-to-peer currency" on: June 09, 2011, 01:00:11 AM
Developing one's own p2p currency must be the most profitable business this decade.

From what I've gathered on the form the originators of Bitcoin likely hold a trove of BTC which are current market value would be just shy of a half billion USD, nothing to sneeze at, of course if they tried to realize that profit right now BTC would become worthless ;-)

Thanks Hardly glad you enjoyed it. If you really want a free copy I'll give a free copy to anyone who can get 10 or more links to shroommedia.com on relevant sites with a Page Rank greater than 2.
14  Other / Obsolete (selling) / iPhone game, name your price / Kickstart on: June 08, 2011, 10:47:38 PM
I've been developing an video game called Binary Bunny, for flash, iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod), and Andriod within a few months it should be for sale on the App Store.

I'd like to do a KickStarter style 'pre-sale' to help fund the development, I still need to hire someone to make music, a pixel artist, and possibly another programmer I would really enjoy it if I could pay them in BitCoins.

Here are the rates that I am thinking:

0.20 BitCoin = Copy of the game when it is released on platform of your choice.

1 BitCoin = You get access to Beta versions of the game, and Your 'name' in the credits of the game as a supporter. +Everything Above

10 BitCoin = I make you or your website an official sponsor of the game.(Millions will see your ad / msg) +Everything Above

100 BitCoin = You get an official autographed T-Shirt +Everything Above

1000 BitCoin =  Title screen Sponsor(only one) and I'll work you into the game some how if you like. +Everything Above

I feel these are fair prices but if you don't then name your price and what you want Smiley

If you just want to support development you can of course send any amount of BTC to: 1N2sr4p8VyzgAQFtBJ6MrFst4o63Sv1GU8

Here is a beta version of the game running in Flash:

15  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Working for Bitcoin? on: June 08, 2011, 10:28:42 PM
Thanks darbsllim I'll take a look.

Ardant I already work for $ my point is that bitcoin is intended to be a currency, a 'coin' not a 'share'. Thus fair I see the price of bitcoin is being driven by pure speculation not by actual use.

If the employer was generating profit in USD and only had USD then yes they would have currency risk. However my thought is this, some folks do have thousands of BTC, others millions for them there is no currency risk. I'm not interested in converting for USD to BTC or BTC to USD.

What I want to do is earn BitCoin's and use said coin to purchase goods from others who except bitcoin in exchange for goods or services. Exchanging currency does not promote the BTC economy, it promotes speculation and perhaps money laundering both of which I feel will be detrimental to the long term success of bitcoin.
16  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Silver for Bitcoin - youtube video, forbitcoin.com promo on: June 08, 2011, 07:12:02 AM
ooo Shiny objects, not one to hoard shinny metals but I like the ballzyness of it, thats really putting your coin where your mouth is, or some such nonsense.
17  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Working for Bitcoin? on: June 08, 2011, 07:08:31 AM
I'm considering making a post on forbitcoin.com but I'm looking for something that is a more involved project.

If could do a very small amount of work or a small amount of coin, but I'd be much more interested in building a full web application, challenging and rewarding work, not mechTurk work.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: 1 BTC = 200 USD on: June 08, 2011, 07:01:37 AM
Yes, but only do to the hyper inflation of the USD as caused by the print money to payback China act of 2011...

Seriously all this speculation, its not about what one currency is worth compared to another its about what you can buy with that currency. Stocks are for speculation, the whole point of money is to smooth out trade by meaning that we don't have to barter. There has never been any real value in any currency the only value is that it facilitates the exchange of goods and services.
19  Economy / Marketplace / Working for Bitcoin? on: June 08, 2011, 06:47:36 AM
I'd like to earn some bitcoin. I'm a skilled web developer, Ruby on Rails, Html5 CSS3, jQuery, and more...

Any one hiring and paying BTC? Any one have any experience with working for BTC?

I don't feel like buying bitcoin, and fuel speculation, I want to earn it, the whole point of a currency is to facilitate trade, so lets trade my services and experience for some coin.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Many Bitcoins do you own? on: June 07, 2011, 05:25:37 AM
