PS. I've also had issues with my email provider not sending Bitcointalk communication to my inbox, so sometimes have been late on responding to people's messages. I apologize for that. I'm just going to be sure I log into Bitcointalk on a regular basis. I have not been on CoinZen recently, and it's possible my email server may be blocking messages from there as well. But anyway, I'm still here.

I spent ages trying to find the setting on bitcointalk to send me messages but its never worked. Thanks for confirming I am not nuts Wiser. Same apology from me and the only solution is to log in more often x

I was not aware, and never even considered, blocks from email providers. My apologies to both of you and so happy that you are going to be part of the relaunch!

Devtome

There is an emerging situation with devtome that we should talk about. Jasinlee was in charge of it but seems to have disappeared. About six months ago when there were rumours going around about him, I spoke to him and managed to get access to the hosting service for devtome. It still appears to be running normally, except we seem to have lost a lot of functionality. Currently, only existing writers can write, and no new writers can join, nor can passwords be reset. I can get a full backup of the site if we want to move it, but transferring the domain may be difficult without jasinlee responding. Is there anyone here who is willing to host and administer devtome, if we can manage to get it off its current hosting service? For us to move forward, we need devtome working properly again, and it needs the time and hosting investment from someone who wants to see us succeed.

Should the transfer work out successfully, and we get it running as it should be again, we will revisit the idea of revenue generation. At the moment it is using a bitcoin based advertising agency, and the income is paltry. We will have a discussion about changing it to make it adwords compliable, before implementing anything, and maybe even revisit the idea of updating the css to something more pleasant.

Hunter I might be able to help with the transfer, as long as the domain can be redirected, we can clone the existing site and redirect the domain without Jasinlee if we have to. Not sure I have the resources for hosting but happy to help whoever can.

Nova I replied to you as well, figured I must have been dumped when I didnt get any response (cynical to the hilt.... I apologise, I really do need to shake off my doubts and get back to being excited rather than cynical.)

Do I email you on the email above or is this message enough to let you know I am still here, just subdued a bit x

Hello all, I am still here albeit a little damaged from rl things, i stepped back a bit after some pretty harsh abuse from new writers who couldnt get onto devtome and no response from UTB. I am confused why he wont answer anyone yet he wont step away and let others take over (control freak much?)

I know this sounds like an atack on UTB but seriously, without some transparency the way forward is just so much BS because UTB stands in the way by being obtuse and not responding honestly or with any real sense of cooperation.

it worries me also that any work "we" do can be stopped, strangled and/or negated by someone who obviously has no interest in being a part of a thriving community. At present the administration of Devcoin is decentralised which is (imo) a flaw in design when only half the administration give a damn.

i will happily support and work toward anything that is offered transparently and with community consultation but truth is i have zero faith or trust in UTB or his intentions and until he is either completely gone or starts to behave in a way that shows some commitment, i have zero trustin Devcoin's future.

i appreciate that he set this all up blah blah but if he wont step up to his responsibilities or step down and let others take on the responsibility then all work he has done previously is really worth nothing...a pretty show of his prowess and nothing more.

some of us have invested our own cold hard cash into furthering/growing Devcoin and to this random aussie chick it all smacks of ripoff by any other name...

Devcoin Project is still active and the chatrooms are working if you want an alternative to the stuck up elitists running the node who never respond to anyone except to laugh at newbies. Devcoinproject.com (you can access their chatroom from devcoin project as well or you can go to the project chatroom and have your own discussions)

I think there is already an avenue for this kind of work but it requires collaboration to work in it's current form (Ie: if a writer uses your image, out of courtest should share their payment because they get "paid more" for articles with images)

I also think an image repository/morgue for Devtome writers to access might prove useful in addition to this for those who want to focus on images. Traditionally images in a morgue are only paid for when they are used, so this could work here:

As all the Devtome raters I have seen award additional ratings to articles with appropriate images there is already an avenue for determining the "worth" of an image.

All that would be needed is some kind of tag/scrypt that records when an image from the morgue is used on a Devtome article and whatever that rating equates to as percentage of share is awarded to the photographer/artist. (who would probably have a profile page on Devtome like a writer does and their address is scraped from there for payment.

Just my 2cents in a random moment between shifts x

Ok so i don't know if this was already brought up at all or if anything similar was tried, Do you think devtome as well as writing should sponsor photography? Maybe something like 1 share per 10 original pictures and the pictures would be rated for quality, overall look... Im not talking about family reunion type pictures but more like scenery, automotive, nature and other things people may like. Tell me what you think.

I have been away a while but if anyone is interested, devcoinproject.com is mine and Im happy to work on the new site. Currently it runs Joomla CMS (open source) and can be configured to do most anything we need. I just havnt done anything with it in a few months.

I started with a heap of the suggestions from way back but then the community seemed to change its mind on what it wanted so a clear plan forward is great.

So, if I dont "earn points" or refer anyone, whats the % of the pool a co-founder would get? (In the mythical Matrix stage of course)
11  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitBillions GBBG on: July 25, 2014, 03:48:50 AM
Well I am still waiting for any promises to come true really... I dont believe in slagging something unless I try it so I shelled out for a co-founder account. I dont get any of the emails/messages you reckon go out to members and I don get anything in return for my "investment" except the chance to contribute to your advertising revenue and collect the crumbs of it for doing so.

I have no intention of cancelling my membership ...waiting for the day they will be worth...how much did you promise at the start? Bahahahahaha

Thank you for your honest answer. Looking through this thread and on devcoin in all I see that quite a lot is regurarly going on so it is a place for honest and real promotion/marketing in here.

The community is strong and willing to act and do things in sense of further development and spreading the word about this coin.

So here is my offer for whole Devcoin community (including me because I am DVC long holder since previous year):

Would you like me to start->build->manage a Twitter Promo Group for Devcoin?

We will promo every DVC news in a hardly retweeted tweets and make Devcoin giveaways & contests with attractive prizes to raise awareness about such an idea like this coin across the crypto universum.

I have an experience in managing such a group and creating Promo Tweets for.

I am also strong believer in DVC, basically because of its ethical nature as Hunterbunter said.

Are you asking to be paid for this pabloangello?

There are already a number of promotions running, along with giveaways and writing awards (which have just been awarded) If you want to support these promotions that would be awesome Smiley

If you are asking to be paid for it, I for one would ask why you should be, when others are running the same things (quite successfully on a small scale) for nothing.

Glad Coinzen is back up, but because we all have so much vested interest in the site, and in Devtome, is it really wise to have everything under one persons control? I dont even put my paying customers in that position, having a succession plan in place that gives other people access should it be required. (Should I ever be hit by the proverbial bus, I had to put something in place to ensure my demise doesnt lead to my customers online business demise.)

There are lots of ways to do this, is tenthirtyone precious about not sharing responsibility or is he amicable to a couple of people having access to be able to restore/backup or manage the site and domain?

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: May 31, 2014, 09:51:44 PM
Does anyone else have a clone or backup of Coinzen? If we cant find Tenthirtyone at least we can get back up and running if Markm can redirect the domain.

If you need it I can give it a cpanel account and hosting until its sorted.

Nice! Papa seems like such a nice person, considering i havent actually seen PC in real life.

Im coming for those bid packages though. Smiley

Nah, I bet he is a real douche!  lol  jk  Thanks for saying so.  I try to live my life and treat people the way I want my daughter to live and be treated by others.  To me, that seems to be the true power behind DVC and the people involved with it.  I think everyone I have met through DVC would be a pleasure to just hang out with.

I was excited to learn about winning the auction and I can feel big things to come with this site.  I think it will be a major asset and draw for DVC.  Thanks to everyone involved with DVC and for all they do.

Papa

BTW THOSE BID PACKAGES ARE MINE!   Grin

Congratulations Papa x

Hi folks!

Anyone else having problems with coinzen.org?

When I go there I get: Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

TT
Yes. It's hosted on same server(s) as devtome, which is up, so I'd guess it's either being worked on/installing new mod. Some info would be good though.

Its still down for me, has been all day (Aussie daytime) has anyone heard anything?

I didnt suggest that you work harder, I know what goes into building custom functions into a site.

I suggested a public Beta testing period. (I would add to that a formal bug/error reporting process and changelog but that's not everyone's thing, depends if you rather deal with individuals or reports from individuals)

Utilise your users as your testing base, slip them a few free DVC bids as thanks and keep the whole thing in testing until you know it's good to go.

imagine the drama involved if this timer was to have an error just as that mining rig gets to 0...I dont believe the crypto community is forgiving enough to accept those kinds of mistakes.
