1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEW FuelCoin - FC2 Re-Distribution x11/pos 2% interest on: August 22, 2014, 05:11:35 PM
Let's just say that one was in a coma for the last few months and forgot to check their FUEL coins on a couple exchanges and woke up to find out that all wallets/markets have been frozen/shutdown and an conversion to FC2 has happened.

What would that person do? Because, I'm running out of walls to bang my head against.

Thanks.

Sorry to chime in guys, but I have a little problem I was wondering y'all could help.

I keep getting little question marks "?" on my INTEREST payouts. Like, out of about 12, 8 are "conflicted".

Why is that number so high?

For my setup, I'm on the latest OSX version and I've disabled sleep and hard disk shut off. I thought
leaving this rig on all the time would be worth it. But I've come to discover that while I'm at work, I get
payouts but they are always "conflicted". It's literally, only when I'm actually on my mac, working or chilling,
do I get great results. Never when I'm away.

Any one know why or how i can get better results?

Thanks Vericoin crew!

In case anyone is thinking about veripool (pool.vericoin.info), don't bother it's not worth it. Experimented by pointing a 1Th/s sha-256 miner at it for 24 hours and got $1.50 usd (5.63 vrc) worth of vericoin. Supposedly they mine an anonymous coin and then exchange it for vericoin and split it up in the pool. Whatever the multipool 256 coin was, I found 7 blocks of it, but the return sucked. Someone in another thread alleged that the pool operator may be skimming, so be warned.  Your best bet is to just mine BTC (or whatever else) and then exchange for vericoin.

Also, yes, I know vericoin is a proof of stake coin, I just wanted to test the exchange pool to see what it was like.

I hope you have some kind of proof of your allegations.

He'd need proof for the allegations if he himself was alleging this. He's just telling us what he heard on another thread.

But to the core of his post, as he illustrated, is pretty correct. I've pointed about 25Mh/s Scrypt for almost a half a day and got proportionally, what he's describing.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my post about mining, very much appreciated.

But yeah, can't wait for the wallet to drop. Gonna be cool to use it and see what potential it has.

Market is looking active and i love it!

Good luck to everyone.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinni | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: May 18, 2014, 03:22:09 PM
Hey everyone!

I'm thinking about mining for cinni thru cinni pool using a rented rig for a short time, maybe a day. Was wondering if this is smart considering the current state the coin is at.  So I'm wondering what kind of opinions you all might have. I'm very interested in mining but can only rent. Been looking for a good profitability calc too, so if anyone could link me to it, that would be awesome.

I'm just trying to refocus my investments a but, but def into a coin that has greater potential and a strong dev and community behind it.

Thanks!

its totally understandable that the devs dont have the time to field all the questions in this post. but like any modern company, esp one whose business is primarily done online, there exists a social media team. It's someones job to be the spokesperson.

the more i keep thinking about it, the more i feel that if you're going to present yourselves as a business, rather than just a coin, you need to act like a business and we should treat you as such. If we're now investors, treat us like one.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[CAI] Caishen. Join us on IRC #caishen for Giveaways★ on: April 22, 2014, 09:54:59 PM
we're also doing you a favor by investing in this fucking coin!

at the very least you can show the questions that have been raised some respect and address them like a mature adult. Or how about if you want to put on your business man hat then respond like
a business man would if he wanted to stay in business.

This is what this medium is for. To ask and to respond. Some posts will be negative, but you take that in with the positive. Please, if you want to be given respect, respect us!

While I see the logic there, I wonder why an already established electronic fiat payment system would embrace crypto.

Maybe faster and cheaper transactions ?

I've been racking my brain on this question too.

If it's M-Pesa, then cool. I figure they might want to open up their customer base (market) to the whole world and use a coin with a transaction speed that's almost as fast, or faster, than their own. This means a lot for commerce and remittances.

I just think on a business level anyone partnering with an altcoin is going to need a very strong "wow" factor that affects them in some way, or solves a major problem. Speed is where this coin gets very interesting for real world commerce. If a service like Mpesa was looking to jump into the crypto space, they'd definitely need something as fast, or faster, as their own network. And it would hurt that the crypto was "btc friendly". the size is good too, early startup coin that a service can "control" or finesse a little bit to help service their needs a little better. Btc is too damn wild.

I dunno....im just bullshitting. Holding coins for now.
14  Economy / Reputation / epicradness reputation thread on: March 29, 2014, 08:26:55 PM
Hey Everyone,

This is my reputation thread. If you've done business with me and really thought it went well, please leave a post telling me how it went. I'd greatly appreciate the feedback!

And to all of you that I've traded or done biz with, thanks so much for being cool and giving me the chance to be part of this community. You rock!!

15  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bobsurplus Reputation Thread on: March 28, 2014, 09:38:06 PM
So Bob here bought a couple tees off me that I designed myself. It was one my first trades thru the site and it couldn't have gone better.
Also, I accidentally sent him a notebook that somehow slipped into the package with the tees. Stupid me. But you know what?
He sent it back to me. And paid for the freakin' paostage!

Yeah, that's the kind of stand up guy he is. Active in communication, trustworthy, what more could you ask for?

Keep it up dude! You kick so much ass! I'd totally do biz with you again.

Thanks!

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Setting up a Reputation/Trust thread. on: March 26, 2014, 04:11:44 PM
Hey everyone,

I've recently made some transactions with some fellow forum members and was advised to make a rep thread in order to gain more positive trust ratings.

I ventured over to the Reputation board and noticed that most of the posts are all "rig related". Is it ok to post in there if i'm trading/selling other goods, like tee shirts?

Also, can anyone provide some insight on how the trust rating is calculate? Is that based off another metric or does it get factored in after a few posts in a reputation thread? Or maybe it's not even linked that way.

Thanks!

There are numerous people named Satoshi Nakamoto.  He didn't ruin anyone's life.  You can thank the reporter Leah Goodman for that.
THIS THIS AND THIS.

glendall,

yeah those are the two most glaring contradictions in this whole story. People are complex creatures though.

Haha, yeah ... nerdy for sure!

It's definitely something niche.
20  Economy / Goods / "NEVER FORGET" Mt. Gox tee shirt on: March 02, 2014, 04:14:19 AM
Hey Everyone! Smiley

So I got as little creative this week after watching the whole Gox debacle go down. I made a tee based off the last price the chart displayed.
Kind of seemed like dying heartbeat of an exchange being taken of life support. Price stuck at 135 in red while the faded chart and the words "NEVER FORGET" crowning the top.  A lesson learned of sorts.

Anyway, after I posted it on another forum it got some interest. I then decided to make a small run of tees to see if people would like to buy one. I'm getting them next week. Printing quality is a waterbased (two color) design on a Alternative Apparel bodies, so it's gonna be that kind of super soft, vintagey feel. Similar in fit to the very popular American Apparel tees. I'm really excited to have one myself!

I'm just posting it here to see if anyone is interested. They'll be $20.00 USD, but the BTC equivalent of that amount. Plus shipping. I'm in California and I wanna be fair and work with people on shipping. Shipping can be kind of an animal as im  finding out. So if you're interested, hit me up! I'd love to sell you one. If things go well, i might start a shop doing higher quality/cooler Bitcoin tees. Hoping to offer some diversity in the btc apparel space.

Also, being new to using btc as payment, i'm totally down for transparency and safety so i'll use an escrow service as many do. I'll just need to learn how to actually do that. But again, i'm willing to work with people with their preferred method of payment.

Thanks for looking!!
