1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a chance Satoshi is dead? Car accident, heart failure, ect on: May 24, 2018, 04:14:16 PM
Nobody seems to have a good answer to where Satoshi has gone and why he and his coins have not been seen for years.

I can think of only a few reasons why that might be.

1. He wants btc to succeed and knows spending his coins will cause a massive panic.
2. He is already rich and has no need for more money.
3. He was hired/tagged by an agency or institution and is under NDA.
4. He is sick of btc.
5. He hates attention/spotlight and does not want the leadership role.

What if the answer is even simpler? He had a car accident / heart failure and died. His wallets are lost and therefore never spent.

This is so much more reasonable and probable than "satoshi is an AI" or other crazy theories here. It's sad, but I think this might be the truth.
It is possible that he is dead. But if that's true, who's in charge of bitcoin now?

Positive news about BTC

Newegg Expands Its Bitcoin Payment Option to Canadian Customers

Major computer hardware e-commerce site Newegg is now allowing Canadian customers to pay for products with bitcoin. Newegg primarily sells computer parts and consumer electronics. The majority of Neweggs’ customers are located in the United States, which has been the only group eligible to pay with Bitcoin until now. They started accepting payments in bitcoin for US customers in August 2014. Newegg has over 36 million registered users.

The company cites ‘increasing mainstream awareness of cryptocurrencies’ as the reason for the expansion of the payment option to Canada. Newegg’s CEO Danny Lee made comments about the development:

“IN 2014 NEWEGG WAS AMONG THE FIRST MAJOR COMPANIES TO OFFER CUSTOMERS A BITCOIN PAYMENT OPTION. SINCE THAT TIME THE VALUE OF BITCOIN HAS SKYROCKETED AND CUSTOMERS HOLDING BITCOIN HAVE CONSIDERABLY MORE PURCHASING POWER. WE BELIEVE THAT THE TIME IS RIGHT TO BROADEN OUR ACCEPTANCE OF BITCOIN TO CUSTOMERS IN CANADA.”

Newegg uses a third-party payment processor, BitPay, to convert coins into fiat at the time of transaction. BitPay receives a small commission fee for this service. BitPay’s CEO Stephen Pair also commented on the news, saying “We’re seeing a lot of traction in Canada, and we’re happy to see Newegg extend its bitcoin payment option north of the border.” Newegg uses BitPay’s API for creation and management of invoices, bills, refunds, and other services. They have praised BitPay for its excellent service and noted that they have provided ‘unrivaled reliability in the industry.’

The news comes as other online services have recently stopped accepting bitcoin as payment due to rising transaction fees, most notably Reddit and Stripe. Increased usage of the Bitcoin network leads to increased transaction fees. Moving forward, it will be interesting to see whether Newegg and other online retailers begin to accept cryptocurrencies besides bitcoin as payment.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possibility of Bitcoin's value to be zero on: March 31, 2018, 06:02:53 PM
The trend now regarding bitcoin is that it constantly goes down in every second and every minute. Is this the end of it? Will there be any possibility that its value becomes zero? Or specifically demonetised? Because for me I think 5 to 10 years from now this will happen simply because of the appearance of other alternative coins. What's your opinion about it?

indeed the bitcoin value is now always down, but if the value up to "0" seems unlikely because there are still many that support bitcoin.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: stop listening to false news on: March 30, 2018, 06:41:35 AM
The current "crash" is caused by one bad "news" after another.   A lot of them are the false or twisted truth.

For example, today, once again "China Full ban crypto".   What the...    Why is it causing another crash??  Why is it even "news"?

It was already banned in China back in September 2017.   All trading platforms suspended trading in September.   Anyone from China who still trade Crypto must be using foreign platforms.   Sure, they reported that China added all crypto exchange sites to Great FireWall.   So what?  These people have VPNs!   When I was in China, everyone who visits foreign sites use VPNs.   Yes, China banned VPN as well a long time ago.   So what?  Everyone is still using it.   Just like ignoring the traffic light is illegal in China, but at every intersection, you will see people ignore the red lights... the truth!   Just because it is "illegal", does not mean no one will do it.

So just this (one) news of China banned Crypto, it was repeatedly used to crash the Crypto market (4 or 5 times).   Do not fall for it!
1.  Summer 2017, China banned ICO.
2.  September 2017, China banned crypto trading.
3.  November or December?  China became unfriendly to crypto mining (Large-scale miners moved oversea already)
4.  January 2018.  China banned websites of foreign crypto exchanges. (VPN!!!)
5.  Today, "China Full Ban Crypto"...  (Really?)

So what is next?
"China really ban crypto"?
"China really full ban crypto"?
"China really really full ban crypto"Huh
"China will jail anyone who trades crypto"Huh
"China will execute anyone who trades crypto"?
"China will nuke every country who trade crypto"Huh??

Stop spreading this nonsense.    What's done was already done in September 2017.   Nothing has changed ever since.  NOTHING really changed in the last 4~5 months.

Yellow journalism at its best.

Same goes for Korean and Indian news.   South Korea did not really ban crypto.  Just one guy wanted to ban it.  It was not approved, nor implemented.   So far they have only added regulations that people can no longer trade anonymously.   So what?   Didn't Coinbase, Kraken, Bittrex etc. US-based platforms all require our IDs and photos?

India also did not ban crypto.  Just a minister made some unfriendly speech toward crypto.  No real "ban" whatsoever.

From the look of it, someone or some groups are trying hard to make the prices go down.   The sad thing is, people are falling for it.   The same China "news" was used on 5 occasions to cause the market crash while nothing was really changed or happened.   Korean news was used on at least 2 occasions.

The bottom line is, let's just ignore all the stupid "news".   Use our brains.   Not hearsay from yellow journalism.   It is getting annoying to have every little "news" to impact the market price.

sources of counterfeit newsmakers have a goal for investors to sell bitcoin, after selling bitcoins, bitcoin will go down and sources will buy on a large scale.
7  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Stolen Bitcoin on: March 23, 2018, 05:17:29 PM
Hi,

I am trying to find a company / Bounty Hunter to recover some BTC I had stolen.

Has anyone had any dealing with    www.darkwebsolutions.com  Huh?

I have been in contact with them and they are confident that they can get my BTC back, however they want $500 up front.

Naturally I am suspicious. Why not just include it in the 10% fee they take from the amount recovered.

Any help or alternative suggestions most welcome.

Itu jelas sekali bahwa penipuan. Disinilah tempat yang paling aman.

Should I Invest In Bitcoin?
If you have the desire to succeed then have to take the risk. Invest as long as you can and have a strong desire to become a successful person.

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hold out or sell Bitcoin? on: March 20, 2018, 06:45:51 AM
With the price starting to creep up again do you think it's a good time to start selling some of my investments or do you think it's worth holding on for a while longer?

We all know how temperamental the market can be but do you think this is just a short term spike?
I'm still a beginner, I think you better hold it first because soon the price will surge, my prediction early April will rise
