1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: April 14, 2014, 02:04:18 PM
Looks like only 1 chip is working. Using version 3.99 of BFGminer (maybe even your version in your screen shot), you can go into Manage Devices and scroll through the 2 grisdseed units and confirm if it's just one chip submitting shares. Sometimes rebooting the USB and Miners will correct 1 or 2 chips not responding...sometimes only a pool/coin change can kick it back to life. But I've never seen just 1 chip working and the other 4 dead. If you can't get it professionally brought back up to spec for less than $150, might be time to cut your losses and learn from the mistakes and buy a new miner. I am going to take one of mine into a local laptop repair shop that does SMD resistor repair to look at my dead one. I only messed with it because it was the black sheep of the group that was working well enough (sometimes) not to send back under warranty...so I went ahead and FUBAR'd a volt mod to see what the board would do.

I tried sending him a PM, if anyone can report troll is working and paying out I will add them to the list too, and yes there is a good amount of solo and also at least one  'private pool'.

3 minutes ago, I requested a payment withdraw from cryptotroll and it just came in. So far, so good. No pool fees and no transaction fees.
Waiting on the rest of you to join up and get the coins a little faster.

I WAS mining on phsblocks but they closed down on April 1st. I started on cryptotroll yesterday. Join it so we can get more coins.

I will never mine on minar.cc ever again. "Sheinsha" never responds to emails or PM's or even fixes errors with block rewards.
Case in Point: I was mining diamond coin on a minar.cc pool. I noticed that all the blocks that we found were reported to have a 1 coin payout. But if you went into the block explorer, you will see those same blocks with a reward of 2 or 8 or 16. So I PM'd Sheinsha, I posted on the forum page, I sent an email. Nothing...for 2 months. And out of the blue Sheinsha responds to just the PM that they fixed the rewards and they would want me back mining on their pool. So I responded: they need to back-pay all coins they stole from the miners BEFORE I would return. It's been over 2 months now....no response and no back-pay. Total coin thieves.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: April 09, 2014, 01:55:07 PM
I noticed quite a few people would really want a Step by Step guide for the latest and greatest mod, and I am really surprised that a group of you guys that have been on here from the beginning or at least a while back have not chipped in some crypto and put up a bounty for the person who can do this, A HOW-TO-MOD for Dummies version and data tables to show frequency settings and results and LATEST Cgminer versions etc...

Reason I am saying this is man-O-man there is a lot of mixture in here and you really need to look carefully at each post to find out what needs to be done and what the latest mod or the most stable ... If someone started reading this like I did , I was going to do the MOD on the first page.. Luckily I kept reading and found that this is obsolete now.

One person cannot create a How-To PDF by him/herself. The vast array of OS's, miner versions and builds make it obsolete by the time it's published. With different miner configurations coming out every week for different OS's, you expect someone to spend a week testing and documenting each little step and how to explain it to a beginner in laymens terms on a multiple series of varying hardware for a never ending project?

Basics:
1.Test your units for at least one full day BEFORE moding. Doesn't matter what software or OS. Whatever you are comfortable with. Make sure they are working so you can replace them under warranty BEFORE moding. There are 5 chips in it, one or more might be quirky or defective.
2.Change out 1 resistor for another. Start mining at a default frequency. Go up if there are no hardware errors. Go down if you get too many. Repeat for each unit.

In a months time, there could be more than just a resistor change to get the most of these things. So no need to create a PDF.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: April 08, 2014, 02:49:20 AM
I've had it hashing without any issues for 2 days now. I only stopped it to change out a power supply.
And you will notice I only posted for the other user to use it for diagnostic purposes. Then to use the data to either qualify his/her theory that he/she had a defective unit or to use the data to use in CGminer.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: April 07, 2014, 09:35:04 PM
Now 800 doesn't work and only 700 is working... 750 is giving me problems getting shares accepted

Do I have defective units??

1a. Use BFGminer 3.99 with Gridseed support for Windows on 1 or all your miners.
1b. Scrypt only at 800.
2. Let it run on a pool that does not switch coins. Run for at least 1 hour then look at the Hardware errors (HW). In the Manage Devices, you can see which chip on which miner is giving you the hardware errors. Make note of each miner's ID and Chip ID that has the errors. Stop BFGminer and reset your miners for a few seconds (unplug and power off). Turn them all back on and reconnect.
3. Restart BFGminer 3.99 with 25 steps lower (in the first test of 800 minus 25 would be 775 for the second test so on and so forth until no HW errors exist).
4. Run for at least an hour (same pool as before) and make note of each device and any Hardware errors on which chips (if any).

Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 until you have no errors on any chips on any device. You should now have a detailed list of your max settings for each unit you have. You can then run CGminer with each individual unit's max setting.
You may be able to do the diagnostic with CGminer also but I've only worked with BFGminer since day 1 of mining.

I have the hardware ID on each miner so I know which one is which rather than by com ports.
Also make sure the USB plugs are snug and flush on both the miners and hub/interface. If it wiggles around in the port, you can bet you won't get any good results from it.
And if you do have a defective unit, you now know which one it is and have test results to back up your claim.
FYI, I have some in the 400's and some in the 290's on 850. And not a single HW error after 6 hours of mining.
I plan on looking at the ones in the 290's to see what chips are under performing and disabling them or upping the frequencies on those to see if it jolts it back to where it should be.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [GUIDE] Delete your 0/unconfirmed transactions in 30 seconds on: April 03, 2014, 04:55:53 AM
I confirmed this works with Zetacoin as well.
The Wallet and Client need to be closed before any edits can be made.

Installed on Windows 8.1 64bit (in this exact order to their default directories):
python-2.7.6.amd64.msi
Twisted-13.2.0.win-amd64-py2.7.exe
zope.interface-4.1.1.win-amd64-py2.7.exe
ez_setup.py
pywallet-master.zip

The files in the pywallet-master.zip were extracted to C:\Python27 and then I created a .bat file that ran "pywallet.py --web" (no quotes of course)
Then used Chrome to open the http://localhost:8989 or just localhost:8989
Then clicked the top bar / menu option of "DELETE"
And filled out the form as directed but with the Zetacoin wallet.dat file info.
Clicked the Delete button on the bottom of the form.
After it deleted the transactions, I selected the QUIT option on the top bar / menu. This closes out the DOS window in the background and the webpage goes to "page not available".
Created a shortcut to the Zetacoin-QT.exe file with the added line of -rescan. Opened the shortcut file. Zetacoin splash screen loaded and after a few minutes, only the confirmed transactions were there and the one transaction that was "unconfirmed" for a few days was gone.

How do you get a share of a Titan?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: April 02, 2014, 02:38:10 PM
My first order of Gridseeds a while back from ZoomHash came with a Pi controller box. I never used it because I have set all my miners on an older Windows netbook. Anyways, I wanted to fool around with the Pi (ha!) and I can't get ANY video display. HDMI, DVI to HDMI, composite....nothing. Pi turns on (single red light).....but absolutely zero display.  Sad

Any ideas?

Zoomhash as already addressed this in their threads and on their website.
Contact them for the new SD image and there is an instruction sheet on how to fix it.
You will need a Windows computer with an SD card reader.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: March 30, 2014, 05:45:30 PM
PoolWaffle, why not end the "Sunday push" method? Instead, implement a "6 day no-hash push". If a worker is hashing for any given time but doesn't connect to mine after 6 days, it's earnings are pushed to the worker.
That way you are not losing transaction fees for miners who are still hashing on Sunday and still will be on Monday. The push should be for a worker not active on WP for 6 days straight.
This way you can raise the fees to 1.5% for a few weeks along with the 6 day delay (or however long you feel is a good time frame) and see if it measures out to the 2% you originally planned. Plus, you just might gain a few more workers who want the stability of a well-run pool with the added benefit of low fees.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZET] Zetacoin - SHA256 coin - Quick confirmations on: March 29, 2014, 04:29:47 PM
Seems my windows wallet will not sync anymore. No clients found.
Latest Wallet. Last transaction was 3 days ago. I added a few nodes I found online, still no sync after an hour.
Anyone else have these issues?

Nevermind. I fixed it. It was a corrupt .conf file. Apparently if your zetacoin.conf is not loaded correctly, it never gets past it and never looks online to find the network.

40c inlet temp and 80c out temp?
FYI: in fahrenheit that's in=100 and out=176
And that is only for it being on for 11 minutes???
You've missed the info above the graph, it was a stress test we did in a hot room.
Yes, I did read that part. Which is why I am confused. You say it is a "stress-test" yet the miner shows an up-time of 11 minutes. Is there a screen shot of a minimum 48 hour stress test done in the same "hot room"?

I came here to see if it was there all along and I just missed it or if it was a hack or a webpage guy who wanted to promote a song. LOL

We're testing and adapting the fw for hot environment as well. Here is a test in hot room we've done today:

40c inlet temp and 80c out temp?
FYI: in fahrenheit that's in=100 and out=176
And that is only for it being on for 11 minutes???
Something is not adding up...or you should've released it in the Fall and people would've been able to keep their whole home heated with just a few units.
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP10 Setup & Review on: March 27, 2014, 03:13:09 AM
Question to the community:
For SP30 it's too late (we're too deep into the design) but for future miners, is LCD with Hashrate / Temperature / IP / other status desirable ?
If so, what data to display ?

Temp control is key when you have a more than 4 of these in a rackspace.
A simple temp LCD readout panel would only be an extra $10-$20.
The panel could light up Blue/Green when temps were in the normal range; Yellow/Orange when getting close to the limit; Red when over temp. And in the firmware you could throttle down the hashing until the unit was back to normal op. temp.
If an LCD panel was not an option, 3 simple led lights on the front face with the same color/temp arrangements would also suffice.

I have LCD temp panels on my units with a fan control knob and a freeze switch so I can control the temps with the fan and get the temps down from 50c down to 22c in about 45 seconds.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] www.MiningPool.co - Multi Coin Pool - Announcement / Update Thread on: March 26, 2014, 03:43:43 PM
The front end seems to be okay...but some coin clients are down as well as some stratum servers. It's been this way for a few days. Don't know why it takes this long to fix it...especially if he is trying to get more miners and he won't fix what's wrong to keep the miners he already has.
19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP10 Setup & Review on: March 22, 2014, 11:07:14 PM
Squeal is most likely bearings.
Vibrations can be fixed with sound deadener (that resists heat) at key joints.
I've watched the video and noticed thin sheet metal touching thin sheet metal without any insulation or anything to resist vibration.

Spondoolies-Tech, I would love to offer my services of making your miner more efficient and effective in the home, office and server environments. You can send 1 or 2 or 3 units to my offices (no more than 3 at a time please) and I can go through each one and make changes to the case, fans, and power supply (just to name a few). Once done, I can ship them back to you for your inspection and implementation. Along with the new revised hardware and list of materials used, there will be a full write-up on what was done and why. And more importantly quantified data. Cost benefit analysis for each unit will also be noted. From there, you can revise your final product accordingly. All it will cost you is one-way shipping.

FYI, I am here in Austin, TX where Cointerra is located and I've done all I can to help them out in their final design.

Rediculously underutilized.  On our bigger boxes (EU/USE), we went from a load of 2-3 consistently, to a load of 0.3-0.35...  Can easily scale back our servers Smiley  Just want to wait until people start coming back from Ghash to make sure it stays that way Smiley

I will be back with your US servers once you swap to the new stratum and when Ghash's promotion is over.
