2  Other / Meta / Re: Is majority doing merit abuse here ? on: March 26, 2018, 10:40:24 AM
As you can see on my hard work Cool https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3054205.msg33177768#msg33177768

Atleast 25% of this week merit is from/for abusing.

How do you check the merit sending logs?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC and other regulators etc. who cares? on: March 26, 2018, 10:02:00 AM
I care about profit, yeah. but I also care about the scams. I think it was cool when bitcoin came out and it wasn't a scam, so ppl were just making money.

But when it came to when ICOs came out, lots of things changed. Devs took advantage of Eth's ease of ERC20 token creation and started making scam coins.

And they can trick people too well.

So I think that's why we need some regulations to protect people.
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Artificial Intelligence on: March 26, 2018, 09:40:37 AM
You did not even put any link to a website or a name to even know what you are talking about. I would actually love to see the way this is going to work anyway and how the algorithm, will be able to help with all that you have mentioned with such as accuracy and like you have said, it should give investors a chance to make use of and also help reduce the number of scammers. However, regulation is around the corner anyway, so scam will still reduce, but the life expectancy? I am really looking forward to see how that would work.

I don't think ICo regulation is around the corner. It should take at least a year. THat's a century in crypto time.

Also, even with regulations, there will always be scam ICOs out there. Just like penny stocks.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Artificial Intelligence on: March 13, 2018, 07:26:04 PM
Wow, this is a really good development. I want to try this AI out LOL. Is there a way for them to have the public test it on potential ICOs? I ask because, I m sure the answer is no because they don't want legal liability if an ICO sues them for um, libel/slander.

That said, I hope they find a legal way to offer the service for testing!
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it safer to have a separate wallet for each coin you own? on: March 13, 2018, 07:12:55 PM
I think it's physically impossible to have a wallet for every coin. For example, turtlecoin, a very new coin, already has a blockchain to sync at 4 gb.

Bitcoin has a blockchain of 150 gb.

If you got a separate wallet for each coin, you're looking at syncing over 1 TB....

That said, it's safer to get a new wallet for each coin because of mitigated risk. If one wallet gets hacked, at least you don't lose all your eggs because they weren't in one basket.
7  Other / Meta / Re: Introduce a "Up vote & Down vote" system instead of the "Merit" system on: March 13, 2018, 06:40:49 PM
No. I don't agree with your suggestions.

I believe the merit system is in play, and it's hot af.

While it's true that most scammers and balh blah were ported over from the old bitcointalk system, that's fine. At least the merit system and new activity system cuts off the influx of NEW scammers and NEW scammer accounts.

The old scammer accounts will be weeded out eventually, and it's already happening. Slowly, they'll gain negative trust and get banned too. When that happens, old scammer accounts will slowly die out. And there won't be new scammer accounts to replace them.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sri lankan government ban bitcoin in the future ?? on: March 12, 2018, 05:39:48 PM
Sri Lanka has a limited internet anyway. I've read users on here complaining that their ISPs all share the same IP address ranges... so if you're banned on bitcointalk once, you're banned from most of sri lanka lol.

So that said, I feel their internet is primitive, and so maybe they're not really ready for blockchain tech and crypto.

I can see why they'd ban it -- not enough understanding + limited tech resources.

Attention:

Ellaism will be forking due to some disagreements between Ellaismer and the dev team.

They're going to put out an announcement today with more details.

Adjust your trades and holdings accordingly to prepare for the possible fork.

Edit: it's starting to go public: https://www.reddit.com/r/ellaism/comments/83wpc3/ella_having_some_issues_today_and_probably_going/
