1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Favourite coin so far on: August 03, 2018, 05:16:15 AM
dgeless - the first already working casino with an official Curacao gambling license and "transparent gambling" idea, which now is heavily copied by other ICO casino projects.

AirSwap - trying to create a decentralized exchange where users can do peer-to-peer trading of virtual tokens.

Streamr DATAcoin - very interesting concept to monetize data from personal self-driving cars and sell it to Google, and Tesla.

Zeex - Decentralized crypto shopping is finally here, no fees, anonymous shopping, discounted gif cards really simple, what's not to like
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think ethereum is the best crypto next to bitcoin. on: August 03, 2018, 02:48:59 AM
Besides the demand for ETH as the Gas token for a growing web3 infrastructure (as I mentioned earlier), ETH has massive other qualities that make it of value. It can do anything bitcoin can do but faster and cheaper, and even serves as a smarter store of value than bitcoin given its clear critical role in web3 providing more meaningful use than just a currency. It’s also a fuck ton easier to create an Internet of things application due to its improved programmability (hence why second layer solution - like raiden, plasma, cosmos, Aion, etc, etc) are being developed faster and with an order of magnitude more options.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best crypto to buy now? on: August 02, 2018, 07:01:14 PM
GBYTE. Byteball. A DAG similar to both IOTA and XRB, but capable of smart contracts and programmability. Marketcap of $360,468,140. Honestly the worst thing about it is the name. I think these DAG programmers are really smart people with really bad taste.

I honestly think DAG technology is the next step in the evolution of cryptocurrencies. No fees, near instant transactions, infinite scalability.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best Cryptocurrency to invest 2018? on: August 02, 2018, 05:31:35 PM
NEM, ETH, a few projects being developed on ETH (none of the top ones, something like RLC, Melon or something else), XEM, STRAT. Think picking a platform is a safer bet instead of picking a cryptocurrency that's being developed on a platform.

but as always the best bet is to do your own research of course.

Do they have an application/working product?
What is their future timeline of deliverables?
Who's their team comprised of and what have they accomplished?
How long has the crypto been around
What's the trend of their price long-term?
What issues or problems have they encountered, how were those problems handled?
What is their community like?
Who are their competitors?
Is there an actual market for their product? Would you buy it? Why? Why wouldn't you buy it? Why might others not buy it?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Market all RED today. I am so scared on: July 31, 2018, 01:53:03 AM
Ask yourself, are your life savings in there? if the answer is yes then i'm afraid you're fucked. Sorry, you shouldn't be putting in what you're afraid to lose. wait, come back i was mostly kidding, just hang on for a second.

You really shouldn't be putting in your life savings, but i'm not here to lecture you. My personal portfolio is down a metric fuck tonne but i'm chill.

For every major rise, there's a major correction ie, the market will drop, sometimes dramatically. It needs to find it's place again. So in December 2017 Bitcoin went up from 15k AUD to 27.5k, Jesus H Christ that's insane! so...was Bitcoin worth 15k or 27.5k? more than likely somewhere in between. It'll bounce around a bit until it settles.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: except for bitcoin, what is your prefer? on: July 30, 2018, 04:41:41 AM
I'm in love with ardor right now, because the concept of the child chains is really interesting. Basically a blockchain as a service. They handle the heavy lifting allowing the developer to quickly and efficiently develop a blockchain solution to fit their specific needs.

Also, the new network is launching soon and they are revamping their marketing strategy. There could easily be a lot of exciting stuff on the horizon!
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BOUNTY PAYMENT PROBLEMS: Too long to wait before being PAID! on: July 30, 2018, 04:09:15 AM
No, of course it's not acceptable, it's as if you do a job for 1 or 2 months and when you go to get paid you are asked to wait 3 months, that's absurd, more than the time it took you to get paid? those campaigns and ICOs should be denounced, they won't be scams but they are close enough, and when they release the capable payment and the token has no value, leaving you with another currency unused in the wallet.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the market recovering or just a big joke? on: July 30, 2018, 02:14:17 AM
I think the market as a whole will recover to the ATH mcap. However, that doesn't mean all the coins will recover. By the time the mcap recovers, the coins in the top 300 will look a lot different than the standing now.

So yes, while I'm itching to buy because of the current discounts, I really need to look at which coins will recover in the long run.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is hard to detect scammed bounty campaign.. on: July 29, 2018, 05:21:55 AM
If it is difficult, but it is a job we have to do, it is better to invest 1 or 2 days of research in the ICO than to lose 2 months of work because the ICO did not even reach its desired goal, and I do not believe that they are malicious scams, they are simply poorly planned projects that did not meet their goal and therefore have nowhere to go.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How Bitcoin Price Effects Alt Coins Price on: July 28, 2018, 02:39:11 AM
So when you buy your ETH using the ETH/BTC pair and BTC goes on a bull run, it makes your ETH (or any other coin paired with BTC) automatically go up in value as well assuming the price of ETH is the same. So in terms of strategy, it might make sense to trade your altcoins with the pair that is most bullish (or the least bearish) for that month of the major 3 pairs (BTC, ETH, USDT). However, the USDT pairs have the least liquidity. Hope that helps.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is our money in crypto? on: July 27, 2018, 03:40:34 AM
maybe is a little too late for you but for new people, these tips can be handy.

Don't ever keep a large number of coins on an exchange, you never know if they could go under completely or just lock your account. Always store your coins in a wallet that you have the private key to, that way you and only you have control over your coins.

When creating a new wallet, don't store your private key on your computer. Write it down on a note card or piece of paper instead. Then copy it to 1 or two other note cards. Once you have done this, before sending any coins to your account, log in to your account only by typing in the private key that was written on each note card to ensure that you wrote it down correctly.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many trades do you make daily? on: July 27, 2018, 02:09:02 AM
I would recommend focusing on percentage growth rather than a set amount of money. If you can grow your account 2-3% a day your strategy will be scalable. If you can grow $100 3% a day you can grow $100,000 3% a day. The strategy doesn't change, only the numbers. but if you are just starting out you don't want to day trade. I first started trading in 2013 and got my ass kicked in the markets for a good 2 years and always gave my profits back.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: My bounty story (5.99eth) on: July 26, 2018, 03:16:49 AM
I am very happy for your success, and due to the great amount of post about disappointments in bounties I think it was necessary to do it, people should also take the time to analyze and study the Bounties that participate because a day or two of reading the whitepaper, investigating the team behind, and analyzing the roadmap can save you weeks or months of participation in a failed ICO.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS or ETH, which one is preferable?? on: July 24, 2018, 03:52:37 AM
I think most people don't actually develop dapps on Ethereum so they may not realize that there are in fact use cases where Ethereum is a better fit. Forcing people to pay for a state change may make sense when you're trying to avoid spam and/or DDOS campaigns. So I'd say both platforms are definitely going to coexist.

That being said, EOS is superior in almost every other use case. Wink ... so I just can't understand why the coin keeps going down! Are people blind? It's $7.85 right now ...
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can an Altcoin below ICO price rise again after falling? on: July 21, 2018, 04:40:03 AM
I think so, it also depends on what token it is and if it has any real world use, if it is a solid project, with a good future and with tokens that have some utility, that the price falls after the ICO can be the product of the bounty hunter and investors making dump without knowing, but even then if the project is good it will recover and those who have made hodl are usually rewarded.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What websites are you using for price analysis? on: July 21, 2018, 03:29:02 AM
I'm using coinkapp.com for bitcoin & crypto price tracking. It has been highly effective in helping me formulate informed trading decisions (you see where each coin is going in terms of market cap ranking position, and you get an idea of the general market feeling via the news feed)

My advice; use trading view in combo with coinkapp. I say this because coinkapp allows a brief overview of all crypto prices, and it keeps a quick summary of the top trading view analysis discussion for each coin's fiat trading pair. So you can use it as your "portal" to trading view analysis
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Change rules in bounty programs. on: July 21, 2018, 12:32:36 AM
I think there should be some kind of regulation in the ICOs but until there are such rules we have to be careful with the changes they make in the middle of the project, if it is something trivial like the date of the report or where to post it, that would not have much effect, but for example if it is the Staking Number at the end of the ICO, that is quite dishonest and should have some impact on the community.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats your plans for the year 2018 on: July 20, 2018, 02:20:16 AM
keep hodling, keep investing, i'm here for the long run so trying to invest in NEO or IOTA. NEO is going to bring legitimacy and developers. Iota has an incredibly interesting concept. I think these will both live side by side so they both have great potential this coming year. My favorite currency is NAV but I'm less sure they'll have the marketing this year enough to go all in despite still being a great investment and coin. Also worth checking out aeternity if you want a sleeper with a big year ahead.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: why does coins change price constantly? on: July 20, 2018, 01:30:04 AM
In my opinion, the price is formed by good old supply and demand rule. The demand comes from people's expectations about the future value discounted to the present. If the expected future value increases so will the price and vice versa.

I've never been one to trade anything based quantitative analysis. I look for indicators like new merchants accepting it, or institutional investors buying as a sign the value will go up. And regulatory problems, bugs, etc that might be a sign of the price going down as you can see in the past weeks
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrops and Bounties useful? on: July 19, 2018, 04:09:57 AM
I think that yes they are useful, for example, ETH started as ICO and look where it is now, you never know when the project you are supporting can grow enormously, the airdrops are not my favorite because they don't need much effort and usually are not worth so much, but the bounties are worth it, because the projects are much more solid and successful.
